Thanks, Mate. Opened my pool just last week here in southern Ontario, and had no suction in the vacuum line for my Kreepy. Checked all connexions, skimmers - all fixed and clear. But I took your advice to backwash if the sand filter has been sitting for months. That did the trick. Saved me at least a hundred buck to call a pool tech and blow the line, like many other of these videos did.
everyone relax - he said 75psi but he probably meant 75kpa (if you look closely you'll see that's the units on the gauge). 75kpa translates to around 11psi. keep calm and carry on.
Hello, Mundaring. Thanks for a well informed of things to check after. My equipment is an old, faithful Hayward 600s filter. No major issues ever in 20 years of operation. My psi pressure when clean is at 15 and when needing a good clean up, sits at 30psi. Are those numbers okay? Reason I ask is because you mentioned "75" on your vid as a good pressure; for my system 75 would be ready to blow up the filter dome.
Montery12 I don’t know why he said that because 50 is your max operating pressure. 3 you may want to backwash or if you have any other type of filter then you want to take apart and clean it. DE backwash or take apart the filter. 75 psi is way to high because the filter can turn in to a bomb and cause severe injuries or death.
My pool jacuzzi hot tub when activated on ly blows air in the jacuzzis for around 2 minutes and stops. Then just low pressure simmer blow, not the big circulation I'm needing. Any thoughts?
I like to ask you have the opiset isu, look Iike my pump is pumping faster then the pool give and the skimmer is always low even though the level of the pool is normall, any idea?
It depends on what you mean by normal level. Your “normal” water level is probably too low for the water to enter the skimmer at an adequate rate. Just top the pool water up until it no longer sucks air in. The pump won’t be sucking the water faster, but the water level can be too low.
What kind of pump is that? 75psi?! My pump would blow up & probably knock down my cement block wall! The healthiest psi on mine sits at 10! Anything above 25-30 is redlining it! Wow...
shamnad mohammed I would like to help if possible, and probably someone already asked, is there an automatic cleaner in pool? Where is the pump suction line, and do you live on a canyon or hill?
It could have a suction port in the wall. If not, remove the drain cover and plug an automatic pool cleaner in at the drain and install a VS pump to get the correct suction
They sell actual pool vacuums. I bought one because I was tired of losing so much water with constant back washes after vacuuming the pool through the pump. Check Amazon for the "pool blaster" series of vacuums.

Why there no water coming out of that?
The backwash really helped! Thanks for the helpful video!

KPA not PSI
He said 75 PSI but if you look at his gauge it's in KPA. The difference is 1 PSI is 6.895 KPA. The accent should have been a dead giveaway Mate.
Very helpful video.I bought a gasket that attached to my skim vac plate. sealed great. Have you heard of poolvacsaver? Dont remember name of product.
Backwash was the key! Thanks!
Also check the pump lid for cracks.Great video.
