Load + Re Load was Metallicas gift to the last part of the 90's they practically invented a style of Heavy Metal that continues to Fuel bands to this day. Slow Gritty and Heavy creativity at 100%.
First time I've heard that. I lived through the eighties and nineties and am sure this albums meant nothing in the evolution of music. I say music because this is far from being heavy metal if you are familiar with it. Besides, Metallica was never a heavy metal band, if so, the first records were thrash metal until they became a sort of hard rock. What style did they exactly invented? I've been serious, I want to know, don't want to miss on anything.

My first Tallica "original" album i bought. So special to me. I was 14 and started to play guitar.
I had a very similar experience, but for me it was Load. I think I was 13, asked my parents to sell my PC and buy me an electric guitar

I really like this carpe diem version, riff is so good.
It's honestly a shame that most songs from ReLoad have rarely, or never, been played live over the years. Missed opportunities. Fixxxer is one of my favorites from this album, and there's only one known clip of them playing it (more than just a jam) during a rehearsal in Canada from 1995. The clips don't show the full song, but what is shown sounds amazing. Thanks for putting this video together. Good memories back in those days.

This is so great. My favorite album of all time. My first taste of Metallica and opened to all their other stuff but still my fav after years of listening to heavier stuff I’ve come back to realize I still prefer their rock above all even as epic and legendary as their trash metal is. Wish pop didn’t lash out at them so hard claiming to be OG fans causing the whiplash of St. Anger and Desth Magnetic (magnet isn’t awful like anger is but it’s no Load/Reload and who knows what other epic rock we could have had).

In my opinion, if they stayed with their 1995 look, the Load/Reload albums would not get much negative reactions because James look so badass with that fucking mullet. As well as Lars and Kirk with their mid long hairs.
The mullet was definitely a look.

O ano de 1997 foi quando eu comecei ouvir Metallica eles estavam passando por uma fase experimental com Load e Reload e os fãs antigos não gostavam, mas surgiram novos fãs que assim como eu curtem todas as fases do grupo hoje em dia. Obs: O James tá cantando demais nos álbuns dos anos 90, nos anos 80 ele só gritava.
Année 80 c'est pas le même style et niveau instrument c'est beaucoup plus technique je fais partie des premiers fans et même si j'ai décroché a partir de l'album black j'ai un grand respect pour ce groupe

16:55 well Kirk was a little off key w/ the slide, but the tempo of UF2 was nice being that quick... James probably wanted to get it over with so sped it up, but its a great speed. Love that song.

Yep, at the show in the UK in 1995.
I'd have stuck one of the 2015 performances of Unforgiven 2 on here, the first time they played it in 97 was horrible.

its kinda weird to see "old" metallica (long hair, and lars with white drum kit) playing a song from Reload... it doesnt fit ! 1995 was clearly a transition year for them, Jason looked like a panhandler and kirk like a young school boy, james about to get his long hair disappear forever (just a streak of hair) and lars middle long hair and two less toms in his drum set...)

Example: Did you see that guy wearing the affliction T-shirt, Monster Energy hat & aviator shades listening to 5 Finger Death Punch? He looked like a total douchebag. Or, Metallica in the 1990's look like douchbags. Also, you can find tons of examples of them acting douchy from that era.
@@NPK476 I don't tend to put clothing and behaviour in the same category, because they really are two seperate things. In the 80s both lars and james were douchebags, do you call what they wear back then douchey as well? I don't see how "outward presentation" makes a person douchey, what's wrong with presenting yourself outwardly and wearing what you think you look good in? There is no definition of douche bag that fits what I just described.
