That was helpful. It's an important reminder... my parent's old house had building garbage stuffed behind a wall from an unscrupulous contractor... Yes, mold can spread on chunks of old discarded drywall / paper / sawdust / scraps etc... All too many builders and contractors can unfortunately be disrespectful to the homeowners who'll sooner or later have to deal with this shoddiness. So yes, it's important to inspect and clean it all up.
