  • For the first time, jurors in the murder trial of a white former Dallas police officer, who shot and killed her black neighbor, saw video from the scene. The graphic new bodycam footage shows the chaotic moments after Amber Guyger killed Botham Jean in his own home. She claims she mistakenly thought it was her apartment. Omar Villafranca reports.

I DO, believe it WAS an honest mistake...
HOWEVER, as the spouse of an officer (of almost 25 years, who's NEVER used his weapon- she's been in the force for like 2 years), I feel like she could've backed out of her apartment. It wasn't like she was at a house or something like that. She was in an apartment complex.
I just think this was a really different situation. I think she really was running on autopilot and without thinking, she grabbed her patrol weapon, forgetting she wasn't working and shot.

He testified to hearing the victim singing very loudly every morning. That all factors in. I understand that too many power starved officers living together could get violent and deadly but at least civilians wouldn't have to suffer, live in fear and have their property value brought down by these gun toting psychos! @@nmagain24 here in America police departments buy armored military vehicles, uniforms and weapons from the military! They use them in totally unnecessary situations to intimidate civilians and to make themselves feel even more powerful all while wearing camouflage military uniforms! They are brainwashed into believing that the enemy is not human just like the military. This mindset is used to simplify the killing of other humans and to lower the risk of PTSD after a killing. The majority of police officers are ex-military because they can't let go of their military careers. In the military they are trained to shoot targets and try to get headshots. They fire hundreds of thousands of rounds imagining each bullet hitting someone in the head. If they go to war and get their headshot they either have a very difficult time dealing with it or they become addicted. Many of the addicts become police officers with the hope of more headshots when they return. Those who didn't get the chance at a head shot while deployed return home dissatisfied and turn to a life as a police officer with the hope of finally getting that headshot.

And remember the leasing people came to his house that morning and said it was a complaint about loud noise. Possibly Amber, the lady underneath him. Got police permission to enter his home probably, fixed his lock somehow or got a key, and later that night, broke in and killed him?

Another innocent person loses their life because of someone not paying attention to what floor they were on. It's bad when a cop gets shot and it's Automatically guilty charge but when a cop shoots someone minding his own business in his own apartment, then cops wanna hug and comfort a killer cop. I hate cops personally and I hope that WHEN she gets put in prison that the inmates in there make her wish she would have paid attention.

I don’t believe her that she entered the wrong apartment. I refuse to believe such an idiotic justification of her killing a man in his own home

I believe she thought it was her apt. However, a police officer with ZERO capacity to be aware of her surroundings ,regardless of her hours should never have been carrying a firearm. This is unimaginable.
