“Sid Vicious lived in my flat for a couple of months and I tried to teach him bass, but he was hopeless.” Lemmy :)
I PERSONALLY LOVE JOHNNY❤❤& SID❤❤❤
You’re not gonna learn how to be a bass player from Lemmy lol
@@Jipwelland why do you think that Lemmy was an Amazing Bass player you dont think he played the same style in Hawkwind as he did in Motorhead do you doh
@@woody5831you are so right. Lemmy used less distortion when he played in Hawkwind…
Cool.. I worked with Mick Maynard, he was one of the singers who auditioned for the sex pistols. they all got a singing part on the great rock n roll swindle track and were in the video.. I bleached my hair because of him .. haha
He gets touchy over things like that
Love it
Bless his heart. They taught him how to play the bass, like four times, but he was so smacked out, he actually forgot. RIP, Sid.
That's insane
He instinctively knew that much worse was over the horizon.
Plus he was a smack head.
Now those dealers own half of London.
Terrible that. His life was just a manipulation by others who made money out of him. And never cared for him.
Yup, I’m pretty sure his mother got him hooked on heroin as a kid. That definitely had to effect the rest of his life. If only someone could’ve helped but he was already way too hooked. The world can be damn cruel to some people.
@TedMan83 Damm cruel to us all. As we are to each other. No one gets it easy. Life is hard for everyone. Sids life was an uphill struggle. And when he became famous the people who should have been looking out for him. They were just manipulating him. And doing him harm. He couldn't see it. And paid the ultimate price. When they couldn't make any more money out of him, they just discredited him and his abilities. Especially that Malcolm Mclaren, what a piece of shit he was.
Wow, never heard Sid so honest in a proper interview before, Great upload
This is what I call great self-awareness! Miss you Sid! RIP
I call it narcissistic mental illness.
Do you really 'miss' him?
He was a pathetic little junkie with zero talent.
He was a shit person and murderer but somehow YOU miss him. Weird and Creepy
"I don't want to be a junkie at all"
Ironic that his own psycho of a mother deliberately killed him with a heroin overdose.
Let’s face it…. After all what happened with Nancy, Sid wanted to be six feet under.
Jup believe he was rapes in prison and didn’t want to go back
Thanks for posting this. Serious insight into Sid and the time and the place, living in the moment.

1:40 "Glen was a c**t as always" 😂
Ironically, Glen was a bloody good musician. The Pistols were a very capable band before McLaren's media hype took over and before Sid came in. He was a very damaged individual, just a misguided child really. Looked. cool as f**k though.
Glenn says he helped Sid learn the bass and that in reality they were good friends. I prefer the Pistols before Vicious came onto the scene as the introduction of Sid was the beginning of the end for the Sex Pistols!
Punk was not mainly about music . For music check the hippie bands.
@@cardcounter21 & Glen played & largely organised the 'Sid Sods off gig' in Camden to get him some money for his move to the US.

He was a very Bad Vegetable and Bad for The Environment! A POS With the Brain of a Cabbage!
Sid left the people who tried to help out of drugs.
He stayed with his mother because she helped him getting the drugs he wanted.
True story.
The Pistols were amazing. I remember my older sister had to hide the records from our parents 😂
He only gave a few symptoms of heroin withdrawal. It's actually much worse than that much worse.
Withdrawing from booze is far worse, you can have a seizure and die,
Cheers Sid
Great
He's a hopeless case death awaited him sooner or later.. sad really.
Death awaits us all
Someone goofed up. This was 1977 not 1978. The summer when Sid was in hospital with yellow jaundice while Steve and Paul were in the studio making NMTB. Sid looks a little rough. He sounds very intelligent and had a good sense of humor. I had never seen the footage of him in his tits T shirt walking down Kings Road (1975?) or talking about the first Screen On The Green gig. Thanks for posting.

Sex Pistols gave John Lydon an outlet for his chaotic creative energy to shape into the unique brilliance of PiL. Sid had more than enough talent to be a performer, his bass playing was actually serviceable until he started to play like shit on purpose as the demon of his legend was beginning to fool him into believing the cartoon version of the situation. However he can be heard in the “Live in Sweden 1977” bootlegs, AND, he was 80% spot on with the chord structure at the Winterland in S.F. During the last gig Sid would ever
But the cat was an excellent front man, he could sing, and hell yeah, he had the look, the hair, the charisma, (which when put next to Rotten, it was the first of the nails to start the end.) and it’s not because Rotten was better or Vicious was better, but they had a different approach, and even on bass, the stage was not big enough for Sid and John.
Had he managed to stay clear of the dope, and started his own band from scratch, some how, he could have been as big as Billy Idol. Hands down.
I apologize, the muse was upon me…..
I have the boot of winter land and yeah, nothing wrong with his playing
@@seanfoster6320 Not at all. In fact, he was developing the skills on how to break songs down into “intro/verse/bridge/verse/bridge/chorus/solo” etc, and I think the 1980’s would have been a lot cooler with that competition between a Billy Idol led outfit, and a Sid Vicious led outfit, the next youth movements’ version of the Beatles & The Stones.
Perhaps I think too much about this, but just using a little imagination, Idol, and Sid and the Vicious White Kids with Matlock on bass, and Brian James on Guitar, then, a line for drum tryouts would have been from Pimlico to Kings Cross/St. Pancras!
Cheers Sean.
