Helen is 19 years old. This famous song is a favorite of both young and old. It increases in energy and complexity as it moves towards the incredibly fast tonguing techniques at the end. Chapeau Helen! Very nice! I really love your trills in the 3rd variation and your reliable technique for instance in the 2nd variation - your are really a brave flutist!! Just a little hint from my part of the world ;-): Maybe try to work on "Schnappatmerübung" as we call it in German, the famous John Wright at the Staatliche Hochschule f. Musik Karlsruhe invented this exercice for a technique to breath quickly without breathing sounds - Metronom crotchet 60, sustain a note of your choice e.g. a', play 4 beats, breath very quickly so that you land EXCACTLY on the first beat of the next four beats and try to breath completely without breathing noise as good as you can - then hold the same tone 5, 6, 7, 8, beats and so on - same technique -your breathing capacity will improve and you will be able to play in a more relaxed way when it is necessary, just as the famous Hans-Peter Schmitz wrote (no quote) Inhale, keep the amount of air in your body but with an OPEN mouth holding the breath just by imaging the a candle in front of you which shouldn't be extinguished -you can practice this Schmitz exercice without the flute e.g.riding on a bus etc. -Give it a try. All the best from Berlin, Germany. PS just one tiny thing: Not every finishing eight note should have the length of a quarter note, otherwise the composer would have mentioned it (e.g.var. 3 bar 16)

Amazing performance though I personally think the version Denis Bouriakov was a better piece. Nonetheless, absolutely amazing!
Well she's only 19 and probably just starting school. Denis is 34 years old and the principal player of the New York Metro so you can't really compare the two.
