In Srilanka this bird is regarded as a sacred bird because of it's close relationship to God Kataragama who uses this as his heavenly Chariot to fly.
The dance depicting the graceful movements and gestures are turned into an interesting performance,which is a creative contribution to by srilankan artists in the world of visual arts.
