Good lord that's a lot of parts. I had to look all the parts up and the cost . ( traxxas prices ) All parts plus the rtr sport vehicle. That's $1069.47 in parts and $359.99 trx-4 sport for a total of $1429.46!! Yes I was BORD !!! 😁😁😁
Scale Builder's Guild Sigh, so true. I felt a little left out as I watched you guys have fun. Even teared up a bit. 😢 But! We should collab on something soon. Just have to figure out what? 🤔
Yes what a timely video series for me. I just finished my Sport Kit and had a couple of trail runs, rock crawls on it and I LOVE IT. Now I know why there are hardcore fans of this TRX4 platform. In its stock, assembled form I honestly think it climbs, side hills very well even with the rear cage installed. I look forward to the next videos on this. It will help me decide on which parts (both Traxxas and aftermarket brands) to get. In fact, I was so happy with my build that I already ordered another Sport body as an alternate, with the expedition rack and basic light bucket grills. Awesome Greg! I can’t wait. ☺️
CJ Villaceran Glad you like the rig. Here we are just focusing on Traxxas, but yes, there are a lot of great options out there. Have fun with your build!!
You told me this video was coming, you're a man of your word 🤙💯. The trx4 chassis is awesome, it can be turned into so many things besides a crawler or trail truck. Traxxas always comes in clutch with the option parts 🤘
Looks like a awesome series! My buddy bought the trx4 Blazer and I’ve gotta admit it’s a Incredibly well designed rig!! So much in fact that it convinced my other buddy and I to pick one up as well ...bastard lol I’m gonna get him back by sending him this video so we all can be broke together 😁🤘 I’m sure he’ll have parts sent to my house soon so wifey doesn’t kick him out 🤞
You are missing narrow fender kit with rubber fender extensions. Helps with mud and dirt plus it gives you forward mount options and multiple shock options. You also can add rear underdrive for like 23% overdrive total! I would add the 2spd kit for bashing capability and upgrade to brushless. Maybe 550 3300 axe.
Wow, this will be an epic build series. Won’t be missing any of this one that’s for sure! My Bronco is stock except for the servo and it’s great, so I’m keen to see how these upgrades affect the rigs performance 🤟🏻✌🏻
Oh good, I'll be watching this series. I just assembled my 1st truck. The traxxas assembly kit. I bought a proline jeep body. But it doesn't fit, oh well live and learn.
I'm looking forward to this build series. I've got the TRX4 Bronco and it's pretty well dialed in as far as I'm concerned ATM. Maybe in the distant future I might put on aluminum axles or the lift kit, etc, etc. Right now it has aftermarket aluminum beadlocks, tires, servo, light kit, spare tire carrier, bumpers, winch, and Proline shocks. Had a roof rack on it but was too heavy and I removed it. My neices have Sports and they seem to like them. One neice is 8, the other 11. I already purchased them a pair of aluminum servo horns to be ready when theirs go out. Not sure on which servos I want to get them yet, cause that will be next. I'm sure I'll get them the same servo my brother has in his, it's working well. The servo I run in mine is a lot more expensive and I'm sure they won't need one like I run. Other than the mods I listed on mine, I've got the Traxxas Traxx which I've yet to run on it. No other mods that I can think of. I'm content on how it is right now but I do intend on putting the Hobbywing Axe system in it when the current motor and/or ESC dies.
I have a Defender TRX4, so I've got two speed and locking/unlocking diffs. Should I overdrive the front or overdrive the rear? I use it in high gear a lot and use low gear every once in a while on the trails
@@gwraffe6812 For a beginner hobbyist the slash is considered one of the most popular starting rc's. Especially for it's price point and quality. It only costs around $250 for a base model.
Mine came with most of the scale accessories your going to do. But I’m still learning and am designing a beater body and keeping the other one with all the lights and accessories for show. You have a ton of parts that I was curious about upgrading. Especially my steering servo because of the tracks. You provide a lot of information in an easy to understand video. Thank you.
The only ones that would pay off would be the servo, aluminum portals for front, brass portal weights for front , aluminum knuckles, and bead locks. The others are cosmetic.
I got the spot for my first RC I do enjoy it, but my Rc dude did not have what I wanted it was gone ASAP was looking for a Jeep gladiator. I was wondering if the softer the tires the better the climb? And do they offer wide tires? Idk I just think it would look good
Terry Armond The main objective here is to show what’s available. Pick and choose what parts are right for you. I’ll have part numbers and links in each video for the specific parts shown.

UA-cam is pointless although more i think about it i have made comments. On His videos nothing bad and after few months they disappear. I watch Mateo Rc movies instead mostly. Yeah his accent is real strong because he’s in Switzerland. But his videos are very professional

I love it! I own a trx-4 sport that mostly sees snow so it will be getting the lift and tracks along with the high torque steering kit along with the two speed transmission.
I’ll be watching this series for sure. My first hobby grade rc is the Traxxas trx4 with tracks. I’m curious of all the goodies I can do. I love to customize.
Tom Lucas After briefly skimming over some TRX4 discussions, it seemed overdriving the front was the way to go and torque-twist was minimal. Probably should have picked up the underdrive set as well. I’ve never tried either on a TRX-4 myself and looking forward to see how it drives. Perhaps the different gear set offerings and combos would be a good stand-alone test video.
@@rcdriver I always underdrive the rear , not just for the possible torque-twist but because you only gear-down at the pinion "so much"....but you can gear-up to the moon.
Hopefully you will post up part numbers in the video description of your build. I have a Sport kit that i have plans to scale out as well and would be greatly appreciate any information you can share.
sylvainster30 LOL, it will certainly be worth more than my 04 Grand Cherokee. But it’s not about building up a loaded truck. It’s about helping TRX-4 owners with individual parts they may be interested in.
Rpm parts better for bashing. As you said truck needs some flex or shits gonna bend even that cnc shit. If it doesn't bend something is going rip out the chassis. I like rpm because if I hit a wall at 50mph all I break is a camber block. If you have that aluminum it bends and breaks more expensive parts like the a arm or even chassis
Hey great video and it’s going to be a killer rig after you do all that work on that rig.. but I have a ?? It’s the front and rear bumper mount the same or not big dude?? Hope you have time to answer I’m totally new to this world but. So far I love it. My truck it’s a trx4 bronco thanks man👍🏼💯

The question is, will it actually perform better? hmm... Don't fall for the "get every option part" scam. Let the handling decide which upgrades to get.
FreeDooMusic Didn’t say you need every option. In fact the description of the video says you don’t need every option. This series is to show what’s available and help inform people which parts may be right for their particular build... if any.

You should do the Traxxas Slash 2wd, mainly because everyone has one that is involved in the hobby.
Kevin Tomyn nobody uses the slash anymore and 2wd is not that great so if anything just get a dessert racer
