I appreciate that you are new to Sabbath and that you are sight reading. So hats off to you.
But what you are unintentionally showing is how unique Bill Wards drumming is.
His timing, swinging and dragging across the beat whilst playing behind the beat is something that no Rock or power drummer has.
This is one of the 4 reasons why The Sabs playing together is something that no other Rock/Power band can even come close to.
Sabbath class themselves as a “Heavy Rock" band. Not Metal, not Hard Rock or any other weak explanation.
They are heavy in every department. Songs, Lyrics, Riffs, Poly-rhythms arrangements and sound the whole "all in".
As good as the following generations are for their own merits. Sabbath are a One-off and NOBODY comes close.

I grew up in the 70s loving this band.
Im so interested in your analysis. I did not really appreciate the talent until now. Im a big Prog Rock fan, did not know heavy metal then. It was just was! Thank you! Obtw, Just Was, Early Jethro Tull , was a blues jazz rock band then. You might like. Clive Bunker was the drummer.

Nice, Andrew! Faith No More do a very respectable cover of this tune on "The Real Thing"; at one point Hetfield would get onstage with FNM to jam "War Pigs" as Black Sabbath was pivotal to James's musical development, and that the guitarist at the time (Jim Martin) was a friend and former bandmate with Cliff Burton & they would have likely jammed the Sabs in those days (pre Cliff joining Metallica). Glad you've dived deeply into the early Sabbath rabbit hole, there's heaps of different line-ups and albums to explore and experience at your leisure.

Every drummer has their own feel, so even though you are following the script, you will sound different than Ward or Bonham or whoever. Bill Ward's playing was more frenetic, almost borderline frantic...just so much energy.
Looking forward to more reactions/covers as you continue down the Sabbath rabbit hole!

You need to hit those drums like they owe you money, take a look at Black Sabbath California Jam. Ward just go mental on those drums. But good cover though.

this was fantastic i have been listening to Black Sabbath for over 40 years and playing there song as a guitar player for 30 or so years one of my favorite bands of all time. all there instruments parts are amazing and very intelligent musically. listening to you play this as written and played was outstanding. most people don't even get close or they try and add there own flare which is fine but most of the time don't get it done right. i have been watching your videos for well over a year now and 99% of the time agree with everything and love your point of view and learn from them. all that being said there is a live version you need to at least check out if you haven't already i will leave the link below. everyone always talks about bill Ward listen to this drummer he hits with such power and conviction. thanks for all your hard work so many of us love and enjoy the videos ua-cam.com/video/K3b6SGoN6dA/v-deo.html

However it always gets blocked. LOL
Decent job, most " drummers" butcher or over play this.
Usually the drummer is which everyone in the band follows, so here you follow the other musicians plus you dont see them !! Also, these songs were not recorded using metronome click tracks ! ALL DONE BY HUMAN FEEL !! Making it way harder!!!
