    Who else is hearing a sound in their Mazdaspeed 3 rear end?

    • @Ayyjayy23
      @Ayyjayy23 5 років тому

      I had a metal clanking sound that ended up being a broken rear coil spring. Had to get the struts and suspension replaced

      Wow! I had heard of it happening but never seen it personally. What Gen do you drive? 1 or 2?

      @@FiveFiveGarage gen 2. Never had any other problems with it though. I took it on a road trip from chicago to north Dakota and I think that's when it broke

      I Do ! After Taking The Speed For An Alignment After Installing ISC Coilovers , The Car Starts To Display A Code Out Of Nowhere. Code ABS C1306 (Steering Angle Sensor) ! Plus I Have Been Hearing Lots Of Clunky Noises From The Front And Rear Suspension. So I Am Looking Forward To See The Next Episode For Sure ! :D

    MazdaSpeeds never lack for clunks, fix one and another pops up. Put on a trio of solid motor mounts so the engine/trans noise gets drowned out, it will never stop.

      I meant that the cabin sound will drown out the clunks...mostly. My gen1 is mostly clunk free, but every so often I hear it...front, rear, wherever.

      I need to replace my passenger side motor mount soon, I am preparing for the vibrating eyeballs.

    just went through this with moog endlinks on my speed 6. had a weird noise from the rear suspension at low speed over small bumps..turns out the end link nut had loosened itself up. tightened it up and it's fine but i'll go with OEM next time.

      The OEM are easier to tighten, I wish the Moogs had the Allen wrench setup too.

    Thanks for all of the videos. I'm about to replace my suspension on my Gen 1 ('09 with 90,000+ miles) The front strut is blown so that set me off on this journey, and I'm going with the new C/S adjustable coilovers, C/S front and rear sway bars, and C/S adjustable front sway bar end links. Since there seems to be only 3 options for the rear sway bar end links (Moog, Whiteline, or OEM), which one would you go with if you had to do it over again? Thanks again. Nice to see fresh content on the Mazdaspeed platform.

      It comes down to price and what you are going to be doing with the car.
      Are you going to be doing any track events? Corner balancing the car? Adjusting your sway bars? Get the Whitelines, they will be the most expensive of the bunch and require the most maintenance of the bunch (keeping them tight and lubed so they don't clunk).
      The Moog's are the heavy duty line, hold up well, but they will need fittings so they can be greased regularly. These are what I am running on my car. These are going to be the least expensive of the bunch.
      OEM's are the easiest to install, but they can't be regreased, and depending on how you have your rear bar set, can cause them to wear prematurely.

      @@FiveFiveGarage thanks for the response man. Sounds like I should go with the Moogs for now. I drive the car less than 5,000 miles a year and don't track it hard (yet haha). Seems easy enough to grease or replace if they do happen to fail.

    What size are those Zerk Fittings?

    • @FiveFiveGarage
      @FiveFiveGarage  3 роки тому

      1/4 X 28 taper, will usually fit.

      Thanks! Whiteline no bueno! They started clunking after 2 yrs. At least the Moogs are less than 1/2 price so even if I have to replace them. Too bad we don't have more options here.

      That's why I went with the Moogs! Easier on the wallet!

    Will this work with the 1st gen ms3

    • @FiveFiveGarage
      @FiveFiveGarage  4 роки тому

      It should. The rear end links are the same for both gens.

    was the knocking sound when you would go over bumps as well? I have been hearing a knocking sound from my drivers side rear for a little bit now when going over bumps I assumed it was my rear end link so I just ordered new ones hoping that it will solve the problem but im still not 100% sure its the end link

    • @FiveFiveGarage
      @FiveFiveGarage  5 років тому +1

      Yes. Going over bumps I would hear it. Drove me nuts! *Usually* it is the end links, sometimes the nuts work themselves loose.
