That was a bit of a trip down memory lane for me. Many years ago, back in the late eighties, one of the first helicopters I flew in was a Dauphin that was then registered to the Trafalgar House company. Then many years further on (two years ago!) I finally got to fly in a Chinook as well! Nice seeing both types here together. Although that SAS Dauphin bears little resemblance mechanically to the version I flew in! These are seriously up engined with stronger transmission and lots of sneaky extras fitted 😊. I spent an evening chatting to the crew of one that flew into my place of work several years ago. They arrived in total darkness with no lights and wearing NV goggles. It was very cool seeing the greenish glow as they popped out from round the side of a building at about fifty feet, to touch down exactly on the marker set by the ground crew, who rocked up about forty mins prior. All very exciting!!
The Dauphin had quite a bit of ground resonance as the pilot started to lift, not enough to be worried about but I would have a look at the fixed trim tab settings on the main rotor blades, that’s if the Dauphin has them, if not then the track and balance might be worth a check, of course it could be down to the weight in the back, somebody might have eaten too many pies. The Chinook was probably 7 Sqn or at least in my day it would have been, they did the vast majority of “Saturday and Sunday” air movement, and other SF stuff as well. Seeing the cyclist and the Chinook in shot together @ 7:19 reminded me of an incident in the late nineties at the Red Bull Airshow in Vienna, we were a little delayed for our departure because the Captain was a little late arriving from his hotel!!!!, but with a little bit of a accelerated startup we managed to make the slot, the captain decided to give the spectators a bit of a show and must have had the collective up by his shoulder and a lot of boot on the rudder bar and performed a “corkscrew” vertical lift from our parking slot, but we were a little close to the perimeter fence where a cyclist had stopped to see us depart, they didn’t see much as the downwash was a bit stronger than usual and cyclist and cycle parted company as they were forcibly separated and blown into the vegetation behind them………….oops, however, karma struck when we were transiting through France or German airspace and we took a bird strike, ended up landing in the middle of some training area and upsetting the troops hiding in the vegetation, probably to ambush someone else, they didn’t look happy at all…..oops.
You talk too much, and know very little. I’m in the know, so I won’t say anything as it’s funnier just to silently laugh at you, but if you think this is what 7 Sqn get tasked with, you’re a clown. Guess again.
I’ve seen a pair of the Dauphins at Duxford. Was there to get photos of another helicopter and these came in, purely by chance. They’re difficult to spot as they rarely show on trackers.
The SAS use them as they can deploy and blend in to normal air traffic without raising too much suspicion …but everybody knows it’s them. I saw them a few weeks ago… cold day… but doors were open and you could see em sat inside. I’m not too far from Hereford where I live.
You don’t know jack. You didn’t even notice the Eurocopter Dolphin had no required International registration number. Hidden in plain sight. Even the CH-47 did not display a National military identification.
They mostly support 22 SAS out of Hereford but can be used for other purposes as necessary. Seen them used for VIP transport and escort a few times, including escorting Marine One when Biden came to Heathrow.
We?...you mean you...lots as it happens and it is on a need to know basis...you certainly don't need to know and won't be kept up to speed in any event.
By the way both military nations met I would say yes and there sending out a big message to our enemies ...not many have seen this happen ...so I would say it was an emergency meeting that was needed to do in a safe secure location...with no listening ears

That’s not correct gentlemen. The British army do use Ospreys. I live directly opposite the SAS barracks and they do have them. Not in British army markings but they have them at their disposal. Flight time from the barracks to London- 30 minutes.
That helicopter is from Hereford SAS base. I was there working for 6 months until a few weeks ago. Technically they’re financed and part of E Squadron SAS
@@JaneGalvin technically but I did say it was from Hereford not SAS - it is used mainly for SAS duties and ferrying spies from anywhere to and from Credenhill. Basically expensive taxi’s and have 6-8 at their disposal in Hereford

My cousin in the south of Spain sent me a video whilst walking his dog today. It was 6 army personnel waiting and being lifted by the same double rotered aircraft (sorry don’t know the correct terms) its kicking off it seems
Special forces and SAS are not at Sterling Lines unless they renamed the old RAF Hereford camp? The old Sterling Lines camp was a nightmare of leaking buildings. They were built and designed wrong.
Reminds me of the meeting on the tarmac at camp arifjan in Kuwait in 2019. 3x ospreys with someone VERY high up. Followed by training. Followed 7 months later by lock down. All planned.
I can't help thinking that the SAS helicopter and US Chinnok are some how related to yesterday's broadcast of The Afghan Interpreter who was assisted by The Guardian to upload his story and bad fate⁉️🤔. He was abandoned and left with a target on his back, afterwards❗🤔. Now a captive onboard The Bobby Stockholm Prison Barge❗🤔. He was shocked at his treatment after all his service and bravery risking his and his families lives by assisting the Talking Babs enemies (UK & US Military) as an Interpreter❗🤔 As soon as I heard his broadcast, I knew this was something major and repercussions would follow, before 'The Shit Finally Hits The Fan❗🤔. So far he has gathered a number of allies and supporters; MOD Police 👮🏻♂️👮🏻, The Guardian Newspaper, an Ex Foreign Office Staff Member who was tasked with assisting and Afghan Charity to aid, expatriate and support Afghan Service Staff, who reported with disgust how they were all to be fobbed off and left helpless and abandoned ❗🤔. We've all seen the desperate airport scenes, with frightened desperate Afghans attempting to be allowed onto the flight back to safety and the UK, but blocked and rejected❗🤔
This shows well maintained choppers are very safe to travel, how important maintenance is for military and business Helicopters, the sad state of the maintenance in the United States military cost few dangerous accidents where military personnel lost their lives, this is pandemic also in the Indian airforce, where their chief of staff his wife and few of his military people went down with him, irony is there was a rumour he had a argument with the Indian airforce chief, hopefully the Indian know what they are doing,

I WAS THERE ALSO. WE ALL ENJOYED A GOOD LUNCH AT THE RITZ. FRENCH RED WINE AND GOOD FEMALE COMPANY NOT IN UNIFORM.
May I ask, who is “we”?
Of course you were son. 🤦♂️

How do you know where to go on what days and the movements?
Is there a story here? Or just a video of helicopters flying?
It’s just video of helicopters

Exactly! Always a lucky catch these. We happened to be around the corner when it came over and landed down the road.
This is my hometown. Its not London FYI. Its in Wiltshire. They came here, then took off for London maybe.
Is that an SAS helicopter
No it’s 658 Squadron Army Air Corps who come under JSFAW.
Yes

So top secret they filmed it and put it on Utube😉

THEY did not film it..Its the "fence watchers" filming.
Blue Thunder.
Middle of London looking a bit like a suburban football pitch. Joke
Not London. They were departing TO London. Do keep up.
Great job crobra
I thought 658 Sqn was special forces. Do they do VIP as well, or are they VIP escort?

Note these high level officials are not getting on Ospreys.
Because the RAF and British army has no Ospreys.
Chinooks aren’t much better,!
Besides the fact Britain has no Ospreys, they produce tons of rotor wash. Not as desirable for some of the tight LZ’s they utilize.
