Gary and this band is the reason I love music today! I grew up and was good friends with his kids! I spent countless days and nights growing up at his shows, at his house, and at Pumpkin Studios. As much as anyone else he was my biggest influence in getting me to play music.
The best 2 years of my entire life were 1967 and 1968. Perhaps this song was first released in 1966 (?) but it takes me back to so many parties that they all just blurr together. People, even today, give me a bad time for feeling that the best years of my life were so long ago but, honestly, I wouldn't trade a heartbeat of those two years for all the future you could serve up. I think I know some trivia about the American Breed. They used to be called Gary and the Nightlights (Gary is the lead singer).
