In this video, we go back to ancient Rome to take a look inside Nero's buried palace the Domus Aurea also known as Nero's golden house. We will look at its history and how it was rediscovered.

"NOW I can begin to live like a human being!" (What Nero said at the opening of his Golden House.)
the mosaic tiles wat da! ...and that purple colour is amazing!!
a true shame that they didn't consider damage from exposing the site to moist air.
thank you for sharing.
I got tickets to go in 2017. Well worth it. One of the best sights to see in Rome.
It was fantastic. Tourists think Rome is only the colosseum St. Peter’s pantheon
I really enjoyed your video tour! Well done!
Excellent presentation.
Not, ruined by music
Enjoyed your video! Thanks for sharing your adventure. 🙏🏼
Es el mejor vídeo sobre la Domus Aurea en la red. Muchas gracias
Great video
thanks 4 your video, and the information about the history. u answered many questions 4 me. the past is so fasenating.
Interesting thanks for this.
Fascinating
That's was very interesting
Excellent! CAn you just add detail about the Domus Aurea’s rotating dining room?
I think Nero's rotating dining room is now believed to have been in the section of the Domus Aurea to the SW, on the slopes of the Palatine, not in the Oppian pavilion shown in the video. See: ua-cam.com/video/UR1pEWX68c4/v-deo.html
Thanks
I'm home now. Thanks. Philadelphia USA
I went there this January
was it good broski
arikeshi it was amazing to see some frescoes still intact
a d what about the rotating banquet room ? The principal curiosity of Nero's palace ? if not of Rome ? And of the history of architecture ???????.
"Buried". Thanks.
Better with no pointless music
3:00 "The fight between david and goliath." WTF. Why would Nero, or any Roman, incorporate abrahamic mythology in their design/decor iconography?
Good point, I had another look into it and it probably displays a story from the Illiad where Nestor fights the giant Ereuthalion. (Which is very similar to the story of David and Goliath)
Nero was very interested in jewish history
@@KobeanHistory a lot of storys are just stolen from older civilesations and just changed a litle bit and sales it as the story of God.
The storys in the bible are nothing more than some chamged myth and storys out long lost times.
The vatican is only christian because it is there money mule.
The big.churches were nothing more.than status symebols for cities
@@lilabraun6919 Nero wasn't interested in our history he was busy lying and blaming them so he can build his house
*Buried Palace
Went last sat 9tth, nobody could understand a word the guide in 'English' was saying, waste of time
