God 36th, Harrumph. that unit works the fuck out of you, but after you're done you miss it like hell. I fucking loved my time there. I loved crewing the Jets, I loved partying downtown. and some of the best friends I ever made was at that base.... I miss it all so much sometimes I wanna cry. it was the best time of my life and even if I was active air force and crewing 16s I've never felt more free in my life. ❤️ Osan 2010-2011 "bone your own" tour
Yeah they used to do that. It's scary af fuck being the one to steer it. In the beginning you have a 7 level hold onto your belt and turn it which way to turn and your react right away. Dude it's legit scary. You have to watch the mains and not the nose. Your instincts want to watch the NLG but you have to force yourself to watch the mains
@@RETUSAF1995 we worked a lot of overtime when I was there, I was 51st CES in the plumbing shop and we only had 6 of us instead of the 15 we were supposed to have. Anyway, they were transferring the primary power to underground electrical, those Korean contractors were always hitting the water mains, we would be up all night repairing what they ripped out of the ground. some weeks they hit 3 mains, I just remember trying to get some sleep and those f4's waking me up, plus we had the sewer plant and the river pump station we had to check on daily, cool looking plane but very loud. The f-16's were a blessing, enjoyed my time there, best group guys to work with. One time they took all the water out to the flight line so the hangers had no fire suppression, took us like 2 days to repair that one.
I was in a patriot unit our equipment and ready room was right by the flight line. it was awesome seeing all the planes but the sound of those afterburners got old really quick lol
I worked OS AB 30 years ago.^^"
36th Fighter Squadron with their Block-40s. Block 40/42s do have the coolest HUD ever put in a fighter jet.
F15E has the same hud
Lol it's a normal one wtf?
@@drutalero2962 It's much larger (wider) than the HUDs on the Block 30s, 50s and 52s. Made for the nav pod

5:10: Is the 36th ditching the Checkerboard on the tail and going with the stallion, or is this a one-off?

Block 40 with HTS?? That's weird!
Block 40 with AIFF is even more weird.
They got mod upgrades to match block 50s.
