I'll never forget the time last summer when my 25 yr old daughter stopped in and said, Mom! You look so fresh and pretty! Wow😂 I had on a black tank top and skort, with a mauvy pink linen shirt over top.
Before I watch the video ( which I'm excited to do as this is my decade - shout out to all the gen-xers! 🎸🎉) I want to thank you for your content. Yesterday, I went shopping with my mother and helped her choose items for an upcoming cruise. Thanks to you, I'm confident she'll be one of the most stylish ladies on the ship!
Thanks for the video! I'm 67 and I have now more time and a bit more money to spend for myself. The pleasure of being retired is that I don't have to fit in any corporate style. On the other hand I'm a lot at home and in a bit warmer climate then I used to be. I'm experimenting now how much I want to follow fashion and what my personal styles/colors to stay with are. It feels good. There is one point, where I don't agree with you: buying t-shirts "anywhere". T-shirts should always be in good quality. By this one can downgrade them one day to be worn for painting, dirty garden work etc. and so they get a second lifetime. This is more ecological than buying a very cheap one of low quality for short term use only.
I just found awesome shoes and a lovely off-white rain resistant coat (Cabelas) at a yard sale!🎉 I consider my style, classic. Age 54. Thank you for your tips❤
Great video, found I'm naturally doing some of these things, hiding bits I don't like. I will be more aware to highlight what I do like in the future. I've been meaning to cull my wardrobes too ( there's 3 wardrobes and drawers and boxes🤦♀️) but that's for another day!
Yesterday & Today have been great - I turn 50 in July. Started modeling in the 80s at 5'2, still exactly the same. "flamboyant gamine" to "angelic" depending where @ in my 00-2 size span, often mistaken for
I feel this! I’m a Canadian creative as well, who goes to church regularly as a Christian, and I can’t have a big enough wardrobe! My constant problem is that my wardrobe doesn’t have enough clothing in it! I’m a classic type - 5’6, size 6. God bless! 😘
After losing 100 lbs, I struggle with finding what actually works for me now. I’ve also noted that as my hair grays, the colors that flatter are changing as well. I’m currently wearing mostly blue, white, black, pops of green and burgandy. I’ve been shopping Thred Up for the past year to try out higher quality pieces without breaking the bank, while I’m figuring out what kind of wardrobe I want to have now.
The trouble is that manufacturers think that if you reach a certain age that you are willing to spend $800 on each piece of clothing. It is mostly that or teenage clothing available.
The point of a bra is to give you great support and to be comfortable and to last. If you want a decorative pretty luxury bra that makes you feel fancy then la Perla is great. But if you’re looking for a bra that will offer you support under clothes and be flattering. You can get that in a 3050 or $70 version.
Awesome info Nada! I'm so happy to be in your program! I enjoy sewing clothing and this is helping me learn who I am and what I like to wear! This might sound funny...but I am an only child and mom loved buying me clothes for so long...I never really really established a style. Finally at 40, I said enough is enough. I WANT TO BUY MY OWN CLOTHES! 😂 Also thanks to my new fb friends, who are cheering me on! We can look cute and have fun along the way!😊
In my 50s I finally overcame my bingeing/disordered eating thanks to a whole food plant-based way of eating, I've now been my ideal (very slim) weight for over 4 years without falling off-track and enjoying eating delicious large portions (channels that helped me: pcrm, Dr McDougall's starch solution, Chef AJ, Healthy Emmie, Well Your World, Nutmeg Notebook). In my 50s I started loving my very imperfect body and enjoying looking good in clothes now I've lost weight. I found my perfect jeans and bought multiples as I know I will wear them forever: Marks & Spencer's Eva Bootcut and Autography straight leg jeans with lyocell. In my 50s I became as chic as those Parisian ladies who seem so simply, effortlessly elegant. In my 50s I discovered new ways of wearing my graphic t-shirts to hide my wrinkly upper arms - under cool cardigans or denim shirt dresses with some buttons undone. In m 50s I've invested in comfortable but elegant footwear: shoes and boots that accommodate my wide feet with bunions but don't look like old people's shoes, I've also started wearing a couple of inches of block heels and they're more comfortable than flats! I shrunk in height by a couple of inches after years of having to sleep in an uncomfortable temporary bed during endless house renovations (never again!), this came as a shock to me so I now strive for a good, straight posture and I avoid any hint of curved, hunched shoulders - no looking at phones! In my 50s I found the best prescription and sunglasses frames (Moscot Tummel), I bought more than one, just as well because they've now been discontinued. In my 50s I stopped wearing beige and other pastels. In my 50s I am buying flattering, quality clothes and re-styling/re-wearing those I bought years ago, because timeless coats, boots, etc. stand the test of time. In my 50s I learnt to mix and match and I dress down more classic pieces, e.g. blouses, jackets, so I don't look like an old lady. In my 50s I take care of my health and what I eat, I skip ultra-processed food and olive/other oils, these foods are addicting and they just add to your belly fat, I work on not getting a spare tyre around my middle, however small, because that is very unhealthy and ageing.

I love this group because they encourage you so much that they help you be more confident.
I'm in my early 50s and find these videos and tips so encouraging and useful!
Great video! I love how unique each woman’s style is and found their different comments so interesting!

Oh I really like Chateau! Thanks for the reminder to browse there.
@@audreyandrea460 The site is great, though Chateau brand is true to size while Suzy Shier is cut larger. End of season is great too!

Congrats. It sounds like you are well on your way to figuring out what most flatters you.
Just turned 49, 50, here I come! 😊
Thank you!❤

I'm hot most of the time. I can't handle the layers. Love to look stylish.

Are the La Perla bras and similar worth the money?

I'll be 50 in two years

Oh I love this so much Tracy! Thank you so much! I love that we can cheer you on as you find your style now!
When humans and animals are depressed, the first thing to go is self care. I wonder if that why it seems people don't make an effort.
Yes! And it’s so sad to see. I have found that starting to make an effort again can help lift our spirits. Thanks for the comment.
