Funny my early PC had a turbo button the gave the machine better performance on the CPU. I think actually for once the Turbo application is justified it will be stupidly fast and probably handle like a go cart. Low down weight and carbon tub even four wheel steer maybe. It’s a nuts machine for when you want to go full Ken block and everyone will love it.

I love the new R5 E-Tech and would be sweet I could get a default hot color R5 with top spec 220PK engine in it with leather napa leather seats and spoiler part like the Alpine on the tailgate in same color at a normal price. The color scheme is an exact copy of the first generation F1 Renault Turbo cars. The ones driven by René Arnoux, Alain Prost... 70's. Great, these colors. Needed to say this, as I grew up with Renault and saw them roaring on the Spa Francorchamps circuit begin 90's (with different colors, Wiliams used their atmospheric V10's). I'd love to see a centre stacked battery pack with an H frame chassis like how the TRV was , this will make the car very ridged, low and exciting to drive. A sports 4 seater car with all the benefits of an EV but the feeling of a CRX or MX5 mini sports car. If my math is correct you could put in a 64Kw pack in that space. Food for thought.
The Rivian R3X tri-motor can’t come out fast enough. It will likely be even faster than this Renault, have better range, but cost less than $55k usd. Rivian’s R3X has been pushed up on the schedule so hopefully it can hit the market in 2027.

We all know batteries are getting cheaper and cheaper. We all know any EV manufacture could produce a car exactly the same looking if not better for £15,000 not £150,000. The car industry is no longer about the top pedigree, Ferrari and Porsh’er’ (for the American doughnuts) this is now just a tech industry. Most parts can be bought off the shelf. And anyone can design like Ferrari.

Design doesn't look nice. Looks like the the original body design was litterally cut at the bottom with a standard sports body kit rear and front bumper, side side skirts and adapted front bonnet was slapped on with a quasi paint job. The parts do not align with the curvature of the wheel well. From a sports car perspective I understand that certain parts are interesting in light of eaports evs. But knowing that we already have amazing cinaumer evs that have built in sports mode, I think the days of ev sports feeling special and excitingbis coming to an anticlimax. I think this EV could be an interesting testcase for repopularizing carbon fibre body evs, what bmw did with the i3, which was kind of revoltuionary and still is today. Metal still seems the popularvtrend with modern EVs, but maybe going for carbon fibre instead of alumnium is the way to go to make future EVs lighter. Problem is that I have discovered that carbon fibre with glue is less environmentally friendly than recyclable metal, so all in all except for those few titanoim and hub motor parts, not a whole lot seems innovative about this renault 5 turbo model, beyond nostalgia.
If this car is twin turbo EV, then this is GAME CHANGER cause Porsche only makes single turbo EVs. I really hope one day we will have twin turbo v8 EV with 1000miles real range and a charge time to 100% of less than 10 mins.
The meaning of Turbo will change from the literal to the implication of extra power and performance… This will appeal to the petrol heads and aspirational (who may never be able to afford to buy)… It will be a trendy marketing term in a period of transition.
