Why aren't you suggesting hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy for CRVO BRVO as a primary course of treatment? Its well known as the standard of care and adjunct care. You're doing a true disservice. To aviod necrotized retinal tissue high oxygen blood saturation is absolutely necessary within 24 hours. CRVO BRVO is an occular emergency and should be treated as such with maximum fraction of oxygen until a chamber can be implemented. Get with the program doctors! The technology and literature is NOT new!
Many thanks for your suggestion regarding use of hyperbaric oxygen for CRVO and BRVO as a primary course of treatment for retinal venous occlusive disease. The hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy has some theoretical possibilities but it has not been proved by a controlled clinical trial which is the gold standard evidence as being effective and it is also not readily available in most clinical practice. There is also a significant difference between retinal arterial occlusive disease where necrosis of tissue occurs within minutes of the blockage and retinal venous occlusive disease which you are talking about which in the short term is far better tolerated by the tissues as usually the degree of hypoxia is far less than in arterial occlusions. My dad's optician told him to breath into a paper bag immediately when this happens. He is already blind in one eye and his optician told him this only a few weeks ago when he went for a check up, where she said his eye looked good. However, he had a RVO episode in his good eye just yesterday and breathed into a paper bag in the car on his way to the hospital, he said the black shadow on the lower part of his eye gradually reduced as he did this. So, may have helped. He told the specialist about his when he arrived and he seemed to confirm that doing that could help to reduce pressure in the eye. We are now hoping they can improve his vision with the injections and whatever else treatment. Thank God he can still see, although he says it's currently a little fuzzy and such. God bless.

You seem to have more information then all these doctors including my eye doctor.i had a eye strock and can't see out of my left eye and the doctors told me there is nothing that they can do for me so I started niasan flush and have been taking it for about 3 days. I don't have insurance for my eye and they won't tell me what else I can do can you please help me with some information if you can thank you
