- Mitch Marner fronted an offensive onslaught with two goals and two assists, Jake McCabe supplied a goal and two assists and William Nylander added three helpers as the Toronto Maple Leafs won their second straight against the San Jose Sharks 7-1.

Being a goalie for the Sharks is a tough job.
Must be really tough strapping the pads on each night. These guys are competitive beasts. Money alone isn't satisfying enough when you're getting dunked on nearly every game like SJ are.
Yeah, but the amount of practice he gets, he must be one of the best in the league.
Nice to see the Leafs FINALLY take these games against bottom feeders more seriously. Leaf fans have only been screaming about it for the past 4 or 5 years.

It took Buffalo and Columbus to embarrass them enough to let go of Samsonov...they have been solid ever since. It's great that they're finally playing 60 minutes of hockey.
Gonna be interesting how they play vs. Avs, Oilers, Canucks and Jets.

Congrats to Henry Thrun for the first goal of his NHL career.. Hard that that was the only highlight of the game for the Sharks.
I know they were down 4-0, but it was kinda sad the rest of the team wasn't celebrating his goal with him more. Or at least it didn't show in the highlights

Not understanding Marner disrespect, Mitch is the player that most reminds me of Dave Keon with his scoring ability plus defensive responsibility and anticipation. I will likely get trolled that D.K.
won a bunch of individual trophies and played for 4 Stanley Cup winners (six team league) and long-suffering TML fans feel we may not see another soon, since the field of competition is so much larger. I hope Marner continues his productivity and love for playing the game and wins it all in T.O.

@@tonybleau6219we don't need him to score hat tricks every game even if the team has multiple goals advantage. We need him to score one on a tie break, one when it matters overall, and this year he has been doing that, or at least getting points on those situations. The whole team played well last night, so that's a big plus

wrong BOZO! the game was on TSN with Canadian announcers. but Sportsnet always uses the US channel for its highlights rather than its competitor TSN - because TSN owns the rights to the games they broadcast.
No this is not the broadcast that is shown on Canadian cable, they use Canadians for that one

Tavares is always criticized for being to slow but you always find him in the tough spot in front of the net.
He is slow. Going to the front of the net does not mean you are fast. It means you are tenacious.
You find him there because he doesn't need to skate lol. Kidding aside, his strength has always been in front of the net in tight areas.
he is NOT slow. in past year yes, but he worked on his skating this past summer and he massively improved his speed.

Leafs find themselves in 3rd place in the division. Their usual do the bare minimum and lack of consistent game effort just wasn't enough, now they need to bare down even against the bottom dwellers.
SJ is the worst team since the 70´s .. But like in other leagues across the world they can play on and dont worry about being sent down to a lower division . To bad they dont got a system that let every game count . GJ Leafs !!

You have no logic in your comment. Just because I mentioned the history regarding the team in the regular season (which is true by the way, just do some research before commenting), doesn't mean I am saying they should win the cup every year or anything like that.
The cup is won to the ones deserving of it. The Leafs have not been "deserving it" since 1967. I am a Leafs fan. I am bound to not see this team win a Cup for dunno how many more years, but I still like the sport and like seeing the team win. Why are you being so defensive in that regard?
