Started watching NHL like 3 months ago. This sport don't get the love it deserves. The amount of skill and toughness needed is unmatched imo.

Been a Flames fan since the cup run of 2004, hockey is the best sport on earth! Nothing matches the speed, skill, toughness, and athleticism of professional hockey.
@@kyledavidson8712 I grew up in the desert. Didn't even know hockey was a sport. Moved to Colorado in 2008 and went to my first NHL game for $5.25 because the Avs were hot garbage for years. Yet, every chance I had I went to games. Not knowing the sport it was easy to just be like "oh yeah, they suck" and then you could start to see the team get better and better and better. They have been an absolute joy to watch. Now, once a year, I travel to another US city or Canada and go see the Avs play there. I plan my vacations around getting to watch hockey. Last year I drove to Calgary. This year is Nashville when the 2024-2025 season starts. Going to be epic.

You would know huh... I agree crazy but this season I'm almost certain they lead the league in comeback wins... in the 2022 playoffs I think they had 11... so as much as we Avs fans hate it they just keep doing it... no offense here but it's starting to feel like rope a dope sometimes they play all soft and then turn on the afterburner's later in the game...

3:13 this focus and follow through by Josh Manson made such a world of difference. 3-0 vs 4-0. That was the moment I was really like “oh the Avs are for sure still in this game”
props to Manson with that save at the very end of period 1, comeback doesn't happen if it wasn't for him being there at the right time to swat the puck out of harms way

It looks like the Stars peaked too soon, and the Avalanche are peaking at just the right time. Any other team would not be able to come back from 3-0 down to Dallas.

Georgiev saved the Avs bacon in OT, Dallas came out ready to end it in the first 10 minutes.

I know some might not agree with this, but I think it's very possible that by the end of his career, Makar could go down as the greatest defenseman of all time.
It's actually possible. It'll depend how he plays in the next 10 years but if it's close to how he did this year, he'll be the best. It's just not easy to perform at that pace for another 10 years. He's currently not as good as Ray Bourque based on his last 6 years BUT if he does what he did this year consistently, he'll be the best ever.

But you said a couple times -like this year- I feel like your ignoring he’s been one of the best offensive defensman in the league since he came into the NHL.
To be “all time” a defenseman definitely needs to play in 3 different decades (or till he’s 40)

As a stars fan, I sat through 7 games of awful comment sections due to VGK fans. Avs fans are actually educated and respectful. Thank the LORD! Anyways. This series is gonna be crazy

As an Avs fan, I have to say that the stars are the only team I've seen match our speed. It's going to be a wild series. Your boys put their hearts out there tonight, nothing to be ashamed about at all! That was the best game of hockey I've seen all year!

AGREED... Jets fans SUCK too... they literally chanted go jets go while Parise was down injured on the ice... no sportsmanship and disrespectful... The Stars had the momentum in first period, but they went to sleep in period 2 and 3 and let the AVS comeback. Amazing OT goal by Miles Wood, what a speedster!!
They didn’t fall asleep, Colorado took over
I think it had more to do with the Avs being really rusty after the longer layoff and they finally found their skating legs in the second period. Remember, the Avs hadn't played in 7 days, that's a long time to rest.
Not to mention the Stars just finished a game 7 on Sunday. Short turn around doesn't help the Stars either. Had a feeling they would come back when it was 3 zip

Great playoff hockey! Phenomenal comeback by the Avs and on the road! The stop at the end of Period 1 saved this one for them. Stars have to regroup and find a way to put these away.

This is going to be a fantastic series.
I liked a lot of things about this game (well, maybe not the 1st period) but I loved how aggressive the Avs' penalty kill was on Wood's high sticking. They have the speed and skill to pick up the puck carriers at center ice and never let Dallas set up. Keep up the hard work! Go Avs go!
