  • I am excited to plan this week! Let's chat all about my work plans for next year. I am devastated about this recent news Check out the video for a chat on these topics. And, as always, please keep this space an open, but respectful, place.
March 14 - March 20 features (eeeek) this gorgeous new release MAMBI dashboard planner and stickers for the month of March!! This week I am planning in my classic DASHBOARD Happy Planner®! Hope you all enjoy. I also pulled in the jewel tone colorful boxes sticker books as well - along with some trusty "ride or die" mambi sticker value packs.
This week I have A LOT going on to prep for the kids continuing virtual school and I'm tired already. While I have to save some room to jot down all of my TO-DOS, I still had a BLAST using all of my super cute Happy Planner stickers!
Loving this week's color pallet! Thanks for watching planner babes! Don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe! I love reading your comments!

I’m a firm believer in that there is always a reason when God moves us away from something we love, He moves us to something better. Maybe there’s a greater blessing ahead of you, or something new to learn that He needs you to use later. We will only know when you can look back down the road you’ve traveled. My prayers are with you in this time of transition and into new blessings. 🙏
I’m a retired sped teacher, and I was hit with reduction in force. I understand that it feels like the bottom has fallen out of the elevator. For me, I had been in the administration office for 20 years, and when that job was eliminated, I went back to the classroom for the last 3 years before I retired. Take heart, I know you will shine wherever you go next!

Thank you for being brave enough to share your struggles with anxiety and your job loss. One important thing I have learned is that we are all teachers for each other. So, we are all constantly teaching and learning from each other. Some people, like you, are natural teachers so whatever you are doing your soul will find a way to teach others. You will always teach your own children and those of us on UA-cam. Who knows what other wonderful things you will find to do? This could be your greatest opportunity! ❤💜💙💚

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU for being the loving and caring person/teacher that you are! Those kids will always have a special place in thier hearts and truely remember you! I am sorry to hear that you do not want to go back into the classroom but I really understand. Just remember when God closes one door he will always open another...God bless you on your new journey! Love and prayers!💚

Cait, I am sending you a virtual hug right now. I feel like I can relate to some of these feelings a lot. In April of 2020 when the pandemic really started kicking up, I was laid off and it was so devastating. It was hard... so emotional. I can't imagine how much more emotional it would be to have to say goodbye to students that I had a bond with and that I cared for. I really hope that your path opens up, and that you are able to figure out what to do and that you have lots of happiness and success with it. :)

I understand how this feels. I was bullied from an ISD a few year back and just this January a private preschool I was working for Chose to close. They made the decision while I was away for holiday and I had no clue. It really hurt me financially to find out I’d be out of a job in two weeks after being gone on a two week long trip. I still have secured a new job since January 2022 but I’m still very hopeful a new one will be coming soon. I did however start graduate school in the mist of this mess.

Hi treasure, my husband is a teacher and due to my deteriorating health in December 2019 he had to leave because I needed a carer at home to help me. My health hit a desperate low. Anyways he joined “ Tutor Hunt” an online teaching agency. Well he has plentiful work and he sets his own timetable and charges what he decides. He has to turn work away . He loves his students and really enjoys those ways of developing that relationship with the students. I hear him laughing with them and cheering them on it’s so good knowing he’s so happy even though he had to leave a job he loved. I know with your big heart and amazing skills whatever you choose you will make a happy work life that’s fulfilling . Xxx

I am currently a special education coordinator, but 7 years ago I also was let go from a teaching job - it felt terrible - but I can honestly say that it opened the way to a MUCH better position, where I could grow and be promoted - and I am grateful now that it happened. There is a great need for good teachers out there -trust there will be something for you..

Hello. I am sorry this has happened to you. As someone who worked in HR processing unemployment claims prior to Covid I would like to offer my opinion. You should apply for unemployment it shouldn't have anything to do with your social media income. Your employer has already paid into unemployment. Unless your state has some restrictions unemployment approval is not determined by additional income , its determined on how your employment ended. In your case its no fault of your own. Please try don't be afraid all they can say is no, but I highly doubt they will. Just because you accepted a severance package it may delay the unemployment payout, but not deny it. If they say no you always have they option to appeal. Anyone else with HR experience please chime in!

A reduction in force (RIF) of 40 employees is a significant event. In most schools, the most costly area is personnel (vs transportation, foods, materials, etc) - it sounds like your employer is in a financial crisis whether the enrollment numbers are down or not. Change is hard but even more so when it's forced upon us rather than by our choice... It's so hard to keep your emotions out of your upcoming decisions but try to take lots of 'thinking time' before you make any big decisions. Your students will remember your actions and attitude over the next few months so look at it as another 'teachable moment' for being a resilient, functional, purposeful, caring, empathetic human. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and sending you lots of positive vibes!

Sending good vibes. I can relate about building something you have to turn over. I went through this when I retired. I gave my employer a 12 month notice in hopes to get them to find an adequate replacement. That did not happen. They hired someone while I was on a 3 week vacation where I came back and worked through the holidays (Christmas/New Years) and then retired. I had about 9 days to “train” them. Just know when one path ends you are meant for better things. Our paths are filled with challenges and it is our responsibility to embrace and grow. Good luck with the road ahead!

@@camille8098 isn’t it just awesome how companies treat pregnant women or women who decide to have children? (not!) I’m in Canada so rules are a little different - we have 12-18 mo paid mat leave but my employer used a loophole where if they restructure they don’t owe me anything. No severance. No termination pay. Nothing. So I just have to believe something better is on the horizon. Not going back to a job is very daunting so I’m sympathize with anyone who has had to go through this before.

    • @darksidesdaughter
      @darksidesdaughter 2 роки тому

@Liss this is normal everyday practice in most of the US, regardless of pregnancy or any other situation. Every state I’ve lived in can fire you at any time, for any reason, no severance, no warning, no nothing. It’s happened to me numerous times through no fault of my own. This is partly why there’s a growing anti-workforce in this country…

Wow, this is a tough situation! Im so sorry for your loss and will add you to my “job” prayer list! I have been a teacher in Texas at 3 different schools ( in my past) each school i had to leave was because of my husbands jobs moving us. The first year after you are gone is the roughest, because if your kids can reach out they will tell you about how things are not going well, even if they are in loving and capable hands. When you build a program and a family i is so hard to hear things arent well ( im sure it would be equally as hard to hear we love her more. Lol). Now with facebook i have reconnected with so many of my past kids and i get to be a blast from the past, best memories kind of stuff. But going thru the loss of those kids will be tough, dont let anyone tell you differently. I will be praying for you about that too. Being a planner makes the unknown difficult, what do you write on your calendar? But I cant wait to hear about the next great thing and choosing your own kids first is the best choice. You are such a positive and infectious person, Im sure you have opportunities coming. Keep the faith.

So sorry to hear about your being RIF'ed. It is devastating. I left teaching almost 3 years ago and now work at a curriculum non-profit. Best decision I ever made.

If anxiety is an issue I would recommend pursuing another teaching job (remote) in the shorter term. It provides the most stability and least anxiety.
I would also still use the summer to ramp up your social media as if you weren't returning to the classroom. That will give you a touchpoint on the potential of making it a FT endeavor in the future.

Sorry to hear about this... but it sounds like you can explore options 2 and 3 at the same time! I know it's hard to choose to take that leap but a silver lining to this situation is that you don't have to CHOOSE to walk away from something first. Good luck! 🍀

I'm sorry to hear this. I would recommend getting active on Linkedin if you aren't already. I left higher education and I know a lot of teachers are transitioning to other careers. There are SO many resources out there for free. I moved from higher ed administration and teaching to instructional design with a bit of technical writing. It is possible and it is a journey. You'll be ok. One day at a time.

As someone who works at a staffing agency, I 100% agree about jumping on to LinkedIn and getting active as you can, I have gotten 2/3 of all my full time jobs from LinkedIn and a recruiter reaching out and 100% of my freelance jobs from it, I highly recommend using it for your advantage

Hi Caitlin. It has been sometime since I have watched a video of yours but, I’m so sorry to find out that you had lost your teaching job. You really are being a strong person and I surly do admire y u for it too. But, by hearing you talk about how things came about I feel that they (the bosses) were thinking for sometime on how to get rid of you and give your students to someone else. That is total crap in my opinion. I’m sure you are an awesome teacher too and that you had an awesome relationship with your students too. So, whatever you decide I’m sure will be something that will definitely bring you joy and peace too. God bless and hugs to you always. Keep strong and the faith too. Love, Sue(Clearwater, Florida)❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌸😘😊🤟🏻🦋❌⭕️❌⭕️

I found out about 2 weeks ago that I also am being let go from my teaching position. It was a shock and I was devastated and my colleagues and I were tight knit, they are all struggling with my school boards decision.

I’m so sorry. Teach Chinese children how to speak English. It’s an online job. I know lots of Teachers that do this as additional income. You really have a positive outlook.

I’m a high school teacher in a public school, and I have to say… if I could, I’d retire this year. Same as you- I love my kids and teaching, but the profession has become so ridden with bureaucracy and frustration and so many stupid ideas made by people who seem to have never met a teenager, let alone been in a classroom. So many kids damaged by “amateur “ distance learning. I’m one of the amateurs, unlike teachers like you who know how to do it right. It’s really hard to find the joy teaching used to bring. But with your attitude, you’ll land on your feet with something better than before!

I agree with all u have said. That's why, after 30 years in the elementary classroom who has served in Title I schools in Atlanta for my entire career, I am officially retiring this June. The last 3 years of teaching has sucked the life out of me. 😩

God makes no mistakes, where one door closes... well you know. I know that these sayings aren't really helpful, they are just true! How about offering tutoring as well as building your channel? So many kids need extra help and someone to connect with. I hope that you can look at this as an opportunity to move forward into the new things God has planned for you! Light & love!
