The 2001 Explorer 2D upper hinge has a bolt that is held by an inside-the-body nut AND has an outside nut -I don't know if the Marquis is different; if it doesn't turn when removing the outside nut, it may help with the alignment as it -hopefully- stays installed. (I haven't tried it yet).
