It's absolutely tripe ,the whole lot looks dead, lifeless,,and I would say those offices are not going to be jumping for joy, everything in and after,, our Sunderland as been destroyed, and oh here's a market or ya,,and do you know what,,we'd rather have foreign produce,sold ,ha ha none of that English western xxxx , these pastel shades of stalls, oh pretty,,but you look stare there's no customers,(one man walking his dog) and never will be that edge of town was industrial, commercial ,solicitor's,,there no Joplings Woolworths,Liverpool house etc etc
@@terencebarrett2897 I think you have failed to recognise if I recorded this any later than the market opening time I wouldn’t get anywhere near the stalls for eager customers. I worked that out, so next time I’ll include video of the markets mid-way through the day. The Same goes for my regeneration updates, early Sunday mornings are good for getting near to any action, but throughout the weekday I would be another distraction hazard for the building teams. @ARTSPECK friend I agree with you and I very well understand your video,and maybe was a bit harsh, probably my sugar levels ha ha ,no offence tho,,but where we had markets when I was younger,let's say the bomb site , acceptable for all etc and then the shops surrounding the old bus station ,ideal and extra Jackie whites market perfect everything was in that circle of proprietor business most importantly your customers,etc well then they xxxx built park lane market etc damaging Jackie whites market then after doing that,now let's close park lane market, park lanes now dead.holmside high street fawcet street etc,, and then so they decide let's open a market on the out skirts of the town 😂you put these in the middle or very close , i dont know who.decides planning but it's not the ordinary man woman, they closed or poked markets at shields ,pallion Chester le street Sunderland town centre,now have had at least 4 and all probably planned by a bystander not a shop or business owner ,my brothers had butcher shops ,and my older remaining brother said ,do you know after the mess of Sunderland town centre, they'll probably build houses practically across the whole land,with town hall? Gill bridge overlooking housing estate with a little column of shops, as they've now got people confined to homes,oil expensive,buses non existent, electric vehicle's being promoted,even though the UK etc is in recession ,power gas,electric water etc is sky high , laws etc and this area was always dodgy, if you came out of Joplin's side door you headed for town centre,not behind where this market situated,and this area as always had a loneliness,because it was private offices, straight in the car home ,and now even more so with Muslims islam living in that area growing up towards park lane eden vale Chester road, honestly it's bad enough walking down holmside, the air of nerves of bad atmosphere,, and it never used to be, I feel towns city's mmm,and it's sad ,,but they've pushed out of shopping areas, now its home delivery ,oh ya dont leave home ?? So I would say markets are you mad, you have to make profits wage ,it's not nicely nice quante novelty, and also stealing 😱😤would 'you' now feel safe behind a piece of Formica ,it's bad enough them walking in to a shop taking what they like,, no you'd feel a bit ,a bit safer in Jackie whites market, but that will be closing, just like the town😉 nice to speak,, everyone have a good day🌹🌹
@ no offence taken, I am my own worse critic, constantly looking for ways to improve. Unfortunately you’re right about how good the past was, when we all had nowt as they say. I remember the crowtree bomb site market well and the joke about Bobby Q Knoxall being asked his name and what was the Q for by the Police. His reply was strawberries until you lot showed up.
Sorry friend about delay ,you enjoy your hobby you do a wonderful job preparing these videos, and It shows people our town,esp if you can't leave the house and home ,people living abroad and people around the world. I seen hobby knoxall at penny well club,ford and Hylton, I'm 67 my brother is 80 and remembers seeing Englebert at start of his career at ford and Hylton club Tom Jones etc at wetherels ,and maybe we live eventually with rose tinted glasses everything was rosy,,ha ha,,but you know friend I love seeing videos of Nepal the Philippines etc and the poorness poverty ??? But the smiles etc is just wonderful and warm,and they've got most, my mate married a phillipino but ended in divorce,, i think the 70s80s the bus station was in right place and when you remember everything circled around it ,,off the bus straight in to bridges upper deck etc but maybe it was dangerous,but today I would say the town was more safer and shopkeeper customer better,, as a young lad I enjoyed repairing TVs radios etc going to old red radio shop crowtree road for TV valves or Harry Parry's ,,ha ha looking in Dixon's hi fi ,shop cor I wouldn't mind that hifi or video recorder or cor look at that Sony telly ha ha , or going to museum looking at that stuffed lion,,free library's they had a magic,,remember Kayle road library,grindon lane library ,they were magic as a bairn free knowledgeable ,,i think past was more enriching ,going for ya first pint "" hey ya don't look old enough"" ha ha big jack on steels club door ,he was like a sergeant major and then when they knew ya ha become the invisible regulars,,mmm all the pubs clubs bingo ,who's the turn tonight etc looking in Saturday's echo full page spread of local clubs daily weekly entertainment,, they had some wonderful names all pushing for stardom ,or being paid off,,ha ha ,nevermind nice to speak to ya,friend look forward to more of your videos take care god bless
