Janitor's tip: Never dry scrape glass ! You should ALWAYS use a little soapy or plain water as a lubricant on any glass whenever using a steel blade scraper as the steel can scratch the glass! Reapply soapy water to always keep a wet edge while scraping.
Ammonia actually works exceptionally well for these situations. My wife and I moved into our apartment and the stovetop was absolutely disgusting. There was like half an inch of crusted on old oil and grease stains all over the stovetop. We tried everything, but nothing was working. Eventually we heard that pouring ammonia on and letting it sit overnight works so we did that. We poured it on, covered the entire thing in Saran wrap (to protect from the fumes, ammonia fumes are no joke) and the next morning when we took off the saran wrap, the entire nastiness on the oven came away with a paper towel. We were blown away. Ammonia is a miracle worker lol.
Hey, when using a glass scraper razor, use soapy water w it to avoid scratches! Thank you for all your good ideas and great peraonality. You're so awesome! ^^
I’m always so relieved when I’m trying to learn something and you’ve made a video about it. You just deliver all the info so thoroughly but so concisely as well. Thank you
I'm actually really glad you mentioned more than just the lemon - you could see it was still kinda grotty, so I'm glad you didn't just lie and say "yep that it!" 💖
That last tip is gold for anything you want clean that just wont come off. As a bong user for my pot, there's only one thing that cleans the gross tar left over. Boiling isopropyl 91% or higher/hydrogen peroxide
Does he remind anyone else of Cookie from Ned's Declassified? I feel like this is what Cookie would grow up to be, and it is the only thing I can think of whenever I see his videos!
Here are some tips I learned from Aurikatariina. Use oven cleaner and cover with plastic wrap like he did with the towels for 15-30 minutes then use the scraper. Alternatively you can use dish soap but if its caked on then scrub with a gentle sponge and then let it sit with the plastic wrap and then scrape.
The razor trick will work with most stoves not just a glass top. I work at a company that converts stoves from natural gas to propane and we use razor blades to scrape off cooked on grease and food.
I have had 2 different ones and I've hated both of them. 😂 They look nice (for a minute, before they're used!) but they are more trouble than they're worth.
This works but you can also get some glass stove top cleaner that's a pretty cheap as well and a bottle could last you for a few years as you don't need much
This guy has good tips for everything lol i really like this channel. Especially the wood pellets on a propane grill. And the pizza on a grill. Lots of others as well lol but i think those 2 are my favorite.
Here’s another hack, if you clean up immediately when something spills. You won’t have to worry about it getting hard later, making a bigger mess. Some of y’all needed to hear that
When you’re using the razor scraper, don’t scrub like you’re doing here, this is actually causing microscopic scratches in the glass! Instead just go in one straight line over the same spot, multiple times if you have to 😁 I learned this as a window cleaner and it’s been a lifesaver with stuck/burnt on messes in the kitchen
Breaking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a base it is the one that gets rid of the grease And it works as an abrasive aswell The lemon juice only helps to dissolve stuff
I love cooking on my glass stove top, but I literally abhor cleaning it. I cook a lot of meat which tends to pop grease. The grease cooks onto the surface and forms something like carbon. Every time I cook - every day - I spend at least 20 minutes cleaning and still not always satisfied. I’m going to try this. If it doesn’t work, next step oven cleaner!
I love your cleaning tips. Question: Could I use bottled rather than fresh lemon? I typically buy lemons for specific recipes, so they're not always on hand, but I always have a bottle of RealLemon in fridge. Thanks.
well this is better than those other ones who clean but don't tell you with what or worse the ones using toxic things like car wax! I added lemons and baking soda to my list as it would happen I'm all out LOL. Thx for the tip!
Baking soda is a base, lemon is an acid, they kind of cancel each other out ;) a lot of your content is great, but even though this hack is very satisfying to watch cause of the bubbles, it doesn't actually help you clean any better. (Baking soda may help a bit on its own with just some water).
I don’t even have a glass stovetop…but still watched

I was just about to comment this, so satisfying lol

My mom and dad made me clean do chores when I was a kid like 5 years old and I wasn’t given a razor to clean , they told me to use my “elbow grease”
Same with dishes and counters
If you still produce grease on your elbow you might want to see a doctor.
@@dmiller4088 LMAO
@AK Floperator elbow grease means work harder, its not an actual type of grease
Maybe because you were 5

Also you can replace the hydrogen peroxide for apple cider vinegar in a pinch, it works really well I use it to clean my oven!

Thank you, great tips for ceramic stoves :)
I find Bar Keepers Friend works great on my glass stove top! No scraping involved - it scrubs everything right off.
Perfect timing for this video. Milk spilled over and burnt onto my stove top and was thinking of how to remove it 😊
Same here!!! I thought I messed it up for good but seeing this video it's possible to clean.
Bar keepers friend. steel wool. 10 seconds of scrubbing. No wasted food, or ingredients, or medical supplies! Just tools doing their job!
I always wanted one of those, now I know how to clean them

"hold the scraper at a 45° angle"
Me: measures the angle with a protractor.

Man I love this man!
Purple power works good too. You can also appreciate the damage it does to the environment while you use it.
The baking soda when mixed with the lemon juice completely neutralises it. You could just as well use salt water at that point.
Thank you! Fantastic!
Yes those products are so awesome 👏
Thanks so Much for Sharing 💞

I need to try this. I’ve tried vinegar & baking soda with dish soap & it got some off but not all. Thanks for your advice!

I had a glass top range for about 12 years and it was awful. I went back to the coil type and I’ll never have a glass one again.
Turn on the burners to medium and then apply the lemon juice and baking soda . It works much better.

Idk when or why I got these shorts but....

Try baking soda, vinegar and a Luthor bit of water. Works so good.
I use isopropyl alcohol (also really good at cutting grease) and bar keepers friend.
That’s wonderful news, I just wish I’d known when I rented an apt. with one of those contraptions, had I known then, I wouldn’t have hated it. 🥰
This man, takes down 5 mins craft single-handedly.
You can also use oven cleaner on stove tops as well. Pretty easy actually just let it sit for 15 minutes and it wipes off

Also white Vinegar, the smell goes away quickly but it cuts grease and adds shine. Comes back looking like a mirror

I think it would make more sense to apply the lemon before baking soda. This way the lemon can work its way into the dirt before getting neutralized
Thanks man i never knew this chemical free method thanks dawg

If you add white vinegar as well to the mix it makes it even better.
