I LOVE hearing the technical shop talk off publishing. Also, just looked at the Wikipedia page for Bembo (The Anthropocene Reviewed is about 5 feet away from me atm, which is insurmountable). Excellent font. I've never considered the effect font has on the reading experience.
I've been reading JRR Tolkien's letters and the call reminded me of it, lots of back and forth with an editor almost 100 years ago saying things like "I'm sorry I didn't answer your letter, I was sick again with laryngitis and also grading papers but the map is too ugly, and I'm definitely going to have a better version sent by the end of the week"
Watching this as I can't sleep, and it's helping somehow. Did have to get up and see what colours my only 2 signed books are signed in and found they're both green, which seems apt, but dull.
You should sell an audio album on Bandcamp of 70 minutes of the sound of you signing pieces of paper, and at the end you do the Lectrojog bit where you tell us how entropy isn't going to win.
Yesterday I did not crack many walnuts. I have to start on black walnuts as I hope to get to a farmer's market saturday and I want both black and white walnuts to sell
Thank you so much for streaming. It makes a big difference in my life. I feel like I am not alone in my feelings and struggles.
John talking shop over the phone while live on stream is amazing.
another day, another signing stream missed by less than 5 minutes
Same boat. One of these days im gonna make it to one
Same, but by like 2 hours
That thumbnail made me realize I would have loved to hear John green narrate journey to the microcosms
We're gonna be in a race for the rest of November... *takes of sunglasses* ...but there's nowhere better for a race than Indy
I drank a bunch of Keats and Co tea today and then requested more for my birthday
I am editing my first paper to submit for peer review next week. I find your signing streams helpful.
You mean your first paper as last author?
@@HarshitWise As first/corresponding author. The paper's about ancient floods on Mars!
@@reedcspurling So, is it your first first author paper?
@@HarshitWise yep!
@@reedcspurling Congratulations! Are you a PhD student?

I don’t know how to spell hijinx (highjinks? Hyjynx? Nope) but I also am not in the mood for them.
