How does one get gifted a membership? I mean, I understand that people buy gift memberships for others, but do they just assign them to random names they’ve seen? Or does some algorithm just say, “You get a membership, and YOU get a membership”, ala Oprah? Or…?
@@movingforwardLDTH you have to turn it on as an option. You go to join the channel and when you see the different levels you can join at there's a "..." menu and in there is an option to turn on gift memberships, not all accounts are eligible though. There's a link that's been shared in chat on lives a few times that explains it all.
Hanging out in my hematology/oncology waiting room for my regular check up to make sure I’m still in remission from blood cancer. This is the vibe I need
Greetings from Pelham where I accidentally read Looking For Alaksa blind with no spoilers in one sitting last new years eve. I ushered in the new year heartsick about the Labyrinth. 10/10 experience. In terms of intensity, at least.
@jjunior48 it takes place only 5 minutes drive from the house I was living in, so the experience was extra tangible. I drive by the boarding school and the inspiration for Coosa liquors on a weekly basis
On the note of book banning, my kids and I just finished reading all the picture books that have been banned in various places. We checked them out from our local library and they were all wonderful
Looking for Alaska really hit me close to home because when I was in high school, a good friend of mine committed suicide a few weeks after we had had a somewhat random make out session that didn't turn into anything, alas. I had a big crush on him. I guess I must have never recovered from his death because the book hit me very hard. At this point, ages and ages later, I had long since thought I was over it, but it was uncanny reading that book, both agonizing and a little comforting at the same time, the way art can comfort us by showing us ourselves. Horripilation describes the book's effect on me. It was eerie. My friend's death also happened in Birmingham, Alabama, to make it even more connected, though probably a couple of decades earlier and not at a boarding school. To think that anyone could want to ban that book is incomprehensible to me. People are weird.
I have mixed level of different things but there were two times my anxiety completely disappeared. Both times for one or two minutes. Like a reverse stroke all the heaviness in my brain left with seemingly no cause.
I assumed you got a new cat. It felt like a new cat kind of day
john is not a cat guy haha
I didn't know you could be gifted a membership if you weren't watching live, but I woke up to that lovely surprise. Thank you whoever that was!

I get to donate to PIH thru my job and I am so excited!!
Thank you so much for these. They are so soothing. They help me fall asleep without ruminating about the state of the country.
