Carbon bows are worth the money when it’s cold.
I went with the VTM 34 for this year. It’s an awesome shooting bow, even ordered it custom. Wilderness riser with the Bone Collector Limbs. Keep up the great work and wish you the best this hunting season!!
Great analogy Camero 👏 👍🏽
Good Review Brother! Thank you
I love both of mine. I've got the VTM 34 and the RX-7U myself. I go back and forth on which one is my favorite. I think I like having the weight of the aluminum for holding on target in the summer and earlier season, but like how carbon is for the late season. They're both lights out amazing shooters. Love the bourbon color. I've got my RX-7U in that color as well. Cool bows and good video!
My vote for a Hoyt bow is the Torrex XT. A good value for most hunters out there.
Great comparison between these two flagship bows there Joel. You, the Hush guys and other Hoyt toting hunting influencers all love the Bourbon 🥃 color and make folks believe that there are no other cool 😎 colors available. 💪🏻😎🏹🦌🇺🇸
I paid $850.00 for my Hoyt Vtm 31 got a heck of deal on it! It very sweet bow love it
Always appreciate direct comparisons from shooters who have good experience with both and not just a few shots at the shop before buying. That being said, I am definitely not a carbon guy and wouldn't ever consider unless the price difference came with $50-$100. Carbon has it's advantages but all are negated by the overall price compared to aluminum counterparts.

Had the RX7 30” 80# and just got got the RX7 ultra so now I have both 😂😂 love the hoyt bows
I went with the Hoyt RX-7 i shot both the RX-7 ultra is my go to love it
I'm thinking I might be in the market for an Ultra this winter. I have a RX5 Ultra and I really like it. I'm not sure if I'll get the Carbon or Aluminum. Can't go wrong either way. I've been shooting Hoyt for over 20 years and I've loved all of them.
Great video
Great video. Been going back and forth on these 2 bows for about 4 months. Still undecided and I need to pull the trigger. Also Hoyt doesn't use IBO ratings they use ATA ratings.
Quoting Hoyt President Randy Walk on the issue:
“If you use IBO rules to compare bow speeds, you don’t get apples-to-apples comparisons. You get a fruit bowl. ATA guidelines lock down the critical factors for making informed comparisons.”
Don’t believe anything he says. I shoot a hoyt and mathews, so im not being biased when i say hoyts numbers are just as far off as everyone else’s. Several guys have done live videos.
Just got the RX7 waiting on the new mods to change the draw length. Can’t wait to shoot it.
PSE seems committed to pushing "made in USA" carbon,
maybe even more so... with the new owner. That said, the RX7 with a Garmin Xero... Is a Ferrari.
Excellent review dude, thanks for making it.
I went with the VTM 34 over the RX7 Ultra.. Money wasn’t the factor the VTM just felt more Solid in my hand.
Rx7 was my choice
Good video
I have both bows. My VTM is a 31 Battle worn for my target bow, and just purchased a RX-7 Black riser with realtree limbs. Both are bad a$$
Also have a RX5 same color as my RX7. All 3 fully decked out with the ultraview scopes.
I love my 31. Shit shoots lights out and I like the extra weight. Thing is a tank.
Seek one switched to Mathews! Thinking about doing the same?
They are both very quiet. But I think the RX7 is a touch louder. Just took home a VTM 31. I’m more of a 68 Camaro guy.
To me the RX-7 sounded quieter and smoother.
Think I might go with the vtm31 ! Been working my ass off every single night at the refinery. Daddy earned a new hoyt 🎉
Look real close at top cam and limb deflection before you buy.
I chose the rx7
Now longevity would be for the vtm, right?
Rx7 hands down
Just a question, why do you choose Hoyt over Mathews? Just wondering if their really is a big difference between the two. Just curious on what your opinion is. Thanks in advance. I enjoy your videos keep them coming.
I have v3x 29 and vtm 31….. shoot them both atleast 20-30 shots apiece back to back. Then decide. Both shoot great and are fun to shoot
At this point in time with the bow technology, all it will really come down to is what feels best to you or what name you want in your hand. All bows these days are splitting hairs with specs. All I can say is get to a shop and shoot everything you can and choose what feels best to you
That vtm riser looks like hoyt is slowly morphing into a mathews cosmeticly. 😂 nice bow
Man I hate the color yellow mustard just doesn’t do it for me.
I can't stand how concave the riser is on Hoyt bows. I like the Mathews profile much better.
Is it crazy to want to start out with an rx7 as a beginner? I feel like buying something cheaper I would just end up spending more in the long run when upgrading to something premium like these.
No
Great video however you are not getting a great value for $1,750.00. These prices are completely ridiculous. That is why switched to Mathew's. With Mathew's at least I get some better inline features and can stomach their prices a little better.
Sorry boss, that's a silly argument. Firstly, Mathews doesn't make a carbon bow. If they did, it would be priced the same, if not higher. Second, if you want to utilize those fantastic inline features and accessories, you will still be paying well over $2,000.
Just make it easy and don’t worry about this stuff. It’s simple. Get a Mathews…
Haha 🤣. Mathews, hoyt, bowtech, pse, elite, and prime all make great bows! I've personally owned Mathews, hoyt, elite, and bowtech. I can get them all to shoot amazingly. BUT with that being said the bow that stands out the most is bowtech. It takes me a fraction of the time to get a bowtech shooting compared to the others.
Hoyt is an okay bow at best. If you’re going spend premium money, get a Matthews for the way better technology and quality build
Buy a Mathews like an adult. 😂 Jk jk
My only question to you, why are you killing the animal? Why?
Carbon!
Yeah they are great great lookin bows but unless u are sponsored by either hoyt or matthews and get a FREE BOW given to u like 98% of the youtuber hunters out there, an average middle class guy like myself wont EVER BE ABLE to afford a boy like these. Thats why ill stick with my bear paradox that can shoot every bit of as good and as far as these OVER PRICED “BIG NAMED” bows. Plus bear bows are made to be afforded.
