A great tip and superb demonstration. You have a wonderful reassuring voice. You speak in way that encourages someone to try and have fun with this, despite the level of concentration needed to keep observing things like the negative spaces. I've been drawing a few weird perspectives lately, so I'm going to try this approach here to see if I can fix it. Thank you for this helpful tutorial.
Fantastic excercise, Koosje! And also excellent instructions and recommendations, you turned such an intimitating subject into a really fun activity! Grazie mille 💜
I love the way you sketch! It is amazing to me. I will try your method. I don’t have confidence that I can do it that way but maybe in time I can train my eyes. Thank you for your videos. They are always helpful and interesting.
You get it, Kathe! If you don't try, you won't learn either. It's all about practicing and training the eyes as you mention. And of course having fun along the way!
wow that was so cool to watch! i really enjoyed seeing you draw! the negative spaces thing is something i completely forgot about when i recently picked art back up. i used to watch your videos on sketchbook skool when i was like 14 or 15 and now i'm 20! i always come back to these draw tip tuesdays hahaha they are truly so helpful!
Came across this older vid….thought your ‘talk through’ and ‘tips’ were terrific. Good advice not to let your brain trick your eyes in foreshortened sketches🤔… thank you.
You inspire me! Thank you! We used to live in the Netherlands but now live in the U.S. I absolutely love hearing your voice and accent!
Really awesome! I love how you talk your way through the process so we can learn from your thoughts. You are a great teacher! Thank you! ❤️
Thanks!
This is fantastic, how you reminded us to remember the negative spaces. I am looking forward to trying this!
Thank you Koosje. Very interesting for the negative spaces .now I understand it. Thank you
Love your videos. I will try drawing this later. 😊
I followed along with you and I was surprised that my drawing came out pretty good. This was a fun exercise.

Awesome...just thinking about doing this is scary and exciting.
Scary and exciting is good! Be courageous and give it a try - it’s just pen and paper after all. Have fun!
As always, you inspire me to draw. So much fun.
Agreed!
You have really helped me with negative spaces. I never learned that until I found you on here years ago....
I think it's one of the best ways to 'trick' your own mind when you get overwhelmed by a shape or scene. Glad I could introduce you to it!
