I need to learn about story telling. Is it just a way to present your content?
Can you please make a video of the best low end pc screen recording softwares
Thank you!!! Hope you are feeling better!!!
It's difficult for me to listen to you Nick with the muzak bed...
I stopped watching the LS because of this...
In summary, on easy ways to make UA-cam videos more engaging:
1. Create a connection to your viewers.
2. Speak the language around your audiences niche.
3. Accessibility: captioning your video, clarity of audio and video.
4. Try story-telling whenever possible.
5. Pay attention to the contents you make.
The whole "speak with 'you'" idea is the strongest in my book.
I adopted an entire "imagine ONE PERSON you're talking with" awhile ago, and it really helps you hone in and personalize your message.
Hi Nick! Remember when you did video and asked everyone to drop what there Subscriber count was that day and then check back?
I think it was 54 back then and now it’s 1.15K ! I watch you as often as I can and truly appreciate your encouragement, support and help.
Just dropping into day thanks!
Have a fabulous day! 😃💯🙌🏼
Nice work!
That’s amazing! Good for you 🥳
Wow now you're at 14k!
The info here is all 100% effective, and I can say that since incorporating your advice over the last 2 years, I am starting to see things snowball. It's easy to fall into the mindset that these little things don't matter, but once you see them start to work together, it really is like magic!
Yah it's really like magic
You have food video good one
Yeah man, the details matter. The most important thing is just making good content but once you know how to do that stacking on the details can make a big difference over time.
One of these tips that resonated with me the most would be the "storytelling" and "speaking the audience's language." Those are the things I struggle with and I would love to see you make an indept video on them please.
Story telling :) Yes! My content has many exceptions to the traditional content standard, because I do self-hypnosis and meditation, so it's not a video they are "watching" per say as much as they are listening to.
This came at the perfect time for me!
Just yesterday I was wondering how to increase my watch time / make my content more enjoyable! Nick to the rescue!
Thank you a bunch for this video 💖👍 !
Boom!
So I ended up buying a Camtasia subscription using your link (since I learned about Camtasia from you), and boy was I not disappointed. It has really helped me dramatically transform my videos and editing process. Thanks again!
I had to crack up when I saw your B roll!? Both people intently focused on their phones!!?? You even tell us nicely if we’re doing it wrong!? 😉🥰 Thank you again for awesome information!
Best of luck to anyone starting out their channel, I remember watching videos like these roughly two years ago and have recently started getting interested in making videos again, and remember guys it only gets better from here! ❤️
Great advice as always. I like the way you asked for first time viewers to subscribe:) Your Saturday lives have been a game changer for us .
That’s awesome! I’m happy you’re enjoying the content!
The tip about storytelling is interesting. If I'm teaching something, there's more than just "here's how you do this": when did I encounter the problem, what led me to the solution, how did I learn it, why you should learn it too, etc.
My favorite tip is giving my viewer a clear reason why they should subscribe. Will definitely give that a try, thank you Nick!
Storytelling is definitely a great way to keep viewers hooked! I can notice the difference in my interest when I watch those kinds of videos. It's just something I'm not good at (yet) lol. Nice video!! :)
Same here. It’s definitely an area I need to work on too.
The speaking clearly and showing personal interest in what I'm videoing about got my attention
Thank you so much for creating this video! As a new content creator I’m always finding ways to keep my viewer engaged so that they can successfully receive the message and education I am trying to teach! I’m going to try these tips in my next video!! So helpful and informative
thanks nick, 'engaging' content is varied when talking about cinematography (t stops) all in favour of more likes, comments etc. informative 9mins.
Thanks, the tip about referring the viewer as "you" is actually helpful - it will make the viewer feel like the youtuber is talking to them individually!
As always, another very informative video. Another way to make UA-cam videos more engaging was demonstrated (but not mentioned) in this video which is to edit the video so that it is constantly changing to accentuate points that are being made. This is especially important for "talking head" videos in which the UA-camr is staring into the camera. Also demonstrated in this video but not mentioned is the use of illustrative b-roll to emphasize the point being made. Cheers! 🥃
WHO DOESNT LOVE NICK?! I LOVE IT I LOVE I LOVE IT!!!!VALUABLE AS ALWAYS!
👊 🤓
Really good video Nick, some great tips as ever. Loved the new style of the start of the video. The YOU part was interesting to me, all was helpful.
Not long hit 500 subs, so thank you Nick. 😊👍👍👍👍👍
Just WOW! So much useful information Nick! And dayum the way you delivered it is FLAWLESS! You not only teach with your words but you also show what an extremely well crafted video should look like! Been away from watching any YT vids for sometime and i had forgotten how good you are at delivering your message! (And i LOVE the photography… and u know how much of a pain i can be haha) Bravo!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
thanks for the video, Nick.
Great Tips Nick~ as Always! 👍🙋♀️ Thanx for Sharing 🙏 & since YOU asked Us~ I’d say the 2 top key things U mentioned that I’ll ponder putting more into my V’s are~ Storytelling & Asking Viewers Specific ?’s they can Respond to in Comments.
In past, one V I did ask ?, & did Get Answers! Wasn’t even planning to, but it does Work~ Lol! 💜🌎🌈🦋
Honestly, storytelling is something I feel is so important to keep viewers' interests! Also, I want to thank you for all of your tips in the past. On one of my other projects, I improved my thumbnail game, and it's been working!
Nice work 👊 🤓
@@NickNimmin thank you!👊😁
Your suggestions about how to get people go like, comment, and subscribe were really good. I also think I could tell more stories in my videos. Finally, I’ll see if iMovie has a zoom in mode.
Asking questions to increase engagement is something we've been encouraging our hosts to do. Referring to the audience as "you" is a new one for us, though! Thanks for the tips.
No problem!
How to properly ask for Likes, Comments and subscribes was exactly the info we needed! Thank you for that!
The fact that saying YOU in the first 30 secs is a retention tool is a bombshell for me. Thanks Nick. YOU da man..... see what I did there lol
I would love for them to do an update of the study.
@@NickNimmin something I also just noticed in this video. I see you're using your hands a lot. Ed from film booth mentioned that MrWhosTheBoss uses this as a retention tactic and his views when right up when he started. Just interesting to me 😊
Thank you nick this is just what i needed
Glad you enjoyed it !
Hey nick, noti gang! I like that first tip of "you". Brilliant video
Glad you enjoyed it!
This video was very helpful. I noticed how engaging your cinematography is. It is very creative. You seem to switch scenes and angles whether it's B-roll or zooming in on the subject. All of this helped me stay engaged. Also you really know what you are talking about so that helps.
🤓👊
The tip for me is the story telling and leaving a comment. You've said both of these points before but it's good because you gave more detail on it I feel this time. Thanks Nick! 😁👍
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve watched a lot of your videos, Nick, but I think this might be your best one yet!
👊🤓
Thank you Nick for your amazing and helpful videos.
I Created my channel on 17th March 2022 and in October i fulfilled all YPP requirements.
i learn a lot from your videos.
Once again thanks.
Nice work! 👊 🤓
Okay, Nick, you asked, so I will answer. But, quickly, I've watched several of your videos and appreciate your approach to helping along new You Tubers like myself. Appreciate it.
Ok, the most helpful topic of this video was your description of giving folks a reason to subscribe or like a video. I basically ask and then add that doing so helps me out. But being a bit more specific about it and giving a couple of examples triggered a couple of ideas for me, so thank you!
Thanks for sharing!
Very insightful. Thank you once again, Nick!
Thank you Mr.Nimmin sir for what you said at 7:00 because i have always thought it violated youtube's terms of service to ask the viewer to like and comment and to subscribe which is my reason to stop doing that but now after watching you sir im going to start captioning my content just like you said at 7:00 If this is your 1st time viewing / or seeing my content then this is the value of my content and please subscribe because it helps other find this type of content better.
Why you should Like/Subscribe's gotta be the best tip in this. I've seen many content creators who always ask "Like, Comment, and Subscribe" and goes on about the video. 100% Sure I just kept on watchin' than doin' all of those stuff. Writin' this down for my future videos. Props goes to ya for the info 📝💙
Glad you got something good from it!
Thank you so much.Am learning alot from you Nick. Each day you motivate me to grind harder🙏
Thanks Nick for another great video. I will be adding the word "you" into my intros from now on.
Hey Nick thanks for the upload great video again man. The one that resonated with me the most is using "you" early on in the video. This reminds me to speak directly to the viewer. Much success, and to whoever's reading this; Nick's tips and strategies work, we got this 👍
Awesome, thank you!
@@NickNimmin no doubt 👋👊
This reminded me how crap I still am, haha... (Not your fault Nick Nimmin, I know it wasn't your intention to make me feel bad about myself) well I'm noob so I guess it's allowed but on my channel here on the two videos I did speak in I watched Nick video here just now and only now just realized I was great at giving information and educating people, but NOT so great at connecting with any viewer :/ especially when I listened to Nick talk about the "you" stat. Oops. I simply did not know this.
5:19 was actually genius good job man XD
The comment and like button part was super helpful thank you!
Another great information Nick
Thanks for sharing
Watching on my phone you can guess which tip resonated with me! Just like websites these days should be "mobile first", so should UA-cam videos even when showing things that the viewer will be doing on their computer.
Thank you I’ll start applying these tips into my videos!
Thanks for the awesome tips Nick! Always great to listen to you.
Very interesting, a lot of things I hadn't considered like saying "you." Thanks for all the great tips!
thank you nick, I always try to apply your suggestions in my content since the first time I saw your video, even though it needs adaptation for the audience and the theme on my channel. I'm still working on it , hopefully I can do better
That’s great! You can, we all can, do better.
Hi Nick thanks for mentioning the study I wrote with Phil/Tubebuddy at 0:29. Appreciate it! - Dane Golden
Thank you Nick, always on point and beneficial to us!🙏🏽💕💕💕💕
👊🤓
Very useful topic 👌 👍
What resonated with me: Producing videos for watching on cellphones. I try to keep my audio clear and easy to hear without earbuds. However, I've also discovered that my new iPhone shoots a better image than my prosumer Canon. Since I'm still struggling with with the Canon, I've decided to switch to the iPhone for shooting UA-cam video.
It would be nice to have some tips for channels where we don't talk to the camera. In the channels where we play a musical instrument, it seems that all is in the performance itself, title and thumbnail. Do you think it can be improved in any other way?
Love all of your tips! Binging your content now to try to learn as much as I can. Thanks for all that you share! 🙏🏽
I never knew the tip about saying "YOU" in the 1st 30 seconds., and saying the reason to subscribe. Thanks😊
No problem. 😁
Awesome video, and the suggestion, as usual....Gee! at this point in my progress here it's still hard to make one question or suggestion that is very specific so it would help me better.....all I can suggest is keep making these awesome videos Nick, from time to time, speak about the same things as you did in the past and also recommend the old ones too. So, when the time comes in which I will actually have time to spend review them, the podcasts too, along with the knowhow and specifics regarding technical stuff, then I will start seeing a bit more increments of growth here :D.....I would love being able to teach English one day on here,......but to do it Mrbeast style, lol....teaching the numbers with....zombies, for example, ha ha ha...''.... count one!, two! three!...'' etc, then teach the verb kill, zap and shoot in whatever tense I want.... both in English and Spanish at the same time, lol.....I would need looots of resources for that and money....but my time will come.....keep being awesome sir!! In fact, to mrBeast as well, if he ever reads this comment, keep being awesome!! both of you sirs!! he he :D....Thank you so much Nick! :D
Hi Nick, just found your channel.
We started just over two weeks ago.
We are trying to learn and educate ourselves as much as possible.
Thankyou for these tips.
My pleasure! 🤓👊
WOW, Nick! Weren't you at 500k just a couple of months ago?? Congrats, or should I say "Fist bump and high five to you!"
Great tips amigo! I loved this video :_)
Thanks Nick - great content as always. I really need to work on my story telling. I think I'll make that my focus area for the month.
Me too.
Nice thumb, and great vid quality, Nick.
Justin
I do Arabic in my other channel and it is interesting that in Arabic saying "You" has two different words for male and female, so it is tricky there to engage your viewer of both genders! I keep alternating or just use the default male YOU
That is really interesting! This is where some specific tactics in a Western/English speaking setting may need to be assessed in the light of cultural or linguistical differences. In this case, anything that helps personalise the content to the viewer.
Great content as usual. Appreciate everything you do for the content creator community
I appreciate that! 👊 🤓
Making often dry DIY videos more interesting through storytelling is a goal, but very hard for me.
if you look at almost all of the growing channels on youtube you will find that storytelling is a key part of the content that they give to the audience Either all the content is storytelling based or they will find a way to speak to the audience in a way that hooks the viewer with that creator after that they become a loyal sub to that creator
Storytelling is huge 🤓👊
Great tips. Loved #1 and will be using You more in the 1st 30 seconds.
Thank you for the information Nick. Really enjoy your thoughts and it's a lot to put together. But in time, I'm sure things will smooth out for me in the learning process. I'm brand new in this area and doing UA-cam like a hobby. Retired and would like to share things I've learned from experience during my years. Just got to spent sometime in getting past the baby steps first. Much appreciated.
Great!
Your videos are always informative and high quality.
Thanks for sharing nice info with ue.
Glad you like them!
Wow, gonna start saying "you" a lot more now 😂 Thanks for the tip - love your videos!
"I should have smiled when I said that..." Lol...I'm sorry Nick, but I immediately got a mental picture of you smiling a creepy Sheldon Cooper type smile with horror music in the background...😂I guess you had to be there🤔...in my head, it was funny, really, it was.😌 Anyhoo...great tips as usual. I think the storytelling resonated with me, it fits with my channel like hand and glove.💜
😆
Thank you Nick - Great advice as always. I like the note about stating "you" at the beginning of the video. Really nice tip 👍
the best🥰
👊🥳
ooooo yea 😎👍💪
So of these tips mentioned I am already doing without even noticing, so I really appreciate the info and I think I will def try to refine some of these tips
Excellent!
Thanks Nick for creating another interesting video❗
Re- our viewer: Do you recommend I stick to SPECIFIC and narrow topics related to Quit your job- Escape your job to financial freedom EVEN IF they should learn about mindset , figuring out what they really want and overcoming fears to quit.🤔
I noticed financial freedom and money topics have more views, so it's what they WANT and not necessarily what they NEED.
So I should stick to money topics?❓
🤔
Appreciate your thoughts, Thank you!!!
Thank you so much Nick. This helps me always
*One of the best thing about this dude is that he never takes credits for himself when he achives something, he allways Respect us, the audience and his team and he is allways polite in all views, we congratulate.More to come everything to come out of source🙏👍🏻❤️👌🏽*
❤️
he gives all this tips for free. God Bless Nick Nimmin
by far one your best videos ever 🤙
just the word YOU is so powerful 🤯
the UA-cam analytics are pretty cool, and good to know about
"addressed their viewer as you" - see I did not know this stat. Good to know when I make a 3rd video I talk in. Thanks Nick.
This is a really well put together video! Lots of amazing tips people should 100% be following.
👊 🤓
Great video, thank you! You presented some new tips, and the very first 2 tips are really good!
You give some really good advice. I'm glad I have found your channel.
I'm so glad!
I'm so glad you upload this! 😁
Me too!
0:00 - Hi NN. 👋 9:08 - 353rd thumbs up from me. 👍 Cheers.

Hope it works
Thanks so much for this inputs. I’ll keep them in mind for my next episode.
Thanks for the tips!
Very useful advices
Haiii! ^_^ I’m deaf disability, thank you for sharing advice. I’ve learning slowly this UA-cam as i wanted start gaming channel what i doing love walkthroughs entertaining and care about community
playing the sucker game, you asked "me" a question.
I use "YOU" a lot in my videos as if I'm talking to "YOU".
I stopped asking for Subscribers etc. according to statistics I only get around 17 views from subscribers. I do have very good audience retention when I try, well for me anyway, it is in the 65% range in most casses.
Nice
Storytelling tips. I have an ESL learning channel and it would be really cool to find out more.
I just found you and SUBSCRIBED. Now I'm binging your vids because I really want to get back on track with my own videos. You've got a great selection of content and helpful playlists. Great stuff, thanks. #powerup
