      I don't trust anything coming from any pow on either side. The truth will come out when people's safety is guaranteed and they are kept anonymous and don't fear for their saftey and the safety of their families if they talk about the events that took place.

    This torture is a part of the Russian strategic culture. They have kept this culture since the 1300 century. It came with the Mongolians who stayed there and mixed with the Russians. Words for lie, violence, corruption in Russian language comes from Mongolia.

      The Russians play from their own "Rules of War" play book.
      This is why they are not signatories to the Geneva Convention, they have had their position on the Human Rights Council suspended in the UN and are flagged as one of the world's worst abusers of basic human rights by agencies like Amnesty International.
      They know that even if they are found to be committing war crimes the will be protected by the Kremlin as they are not obliged to extradite their citizens to face the War Crimes Tribunal.

    In WW2 the Russians were justified in taking revenge on the Germans after the atrocities they had suffered.
    This is not the same situation.
    The atrocities they are committing on not just soldiers but civilians aswel is totally uncalled-for.

    What can simple ordinary people do to help? I am a young mother from Romania. I donated money, prayed. But still feel frustrated, helpless, powerless. I wish the Russians would stop. It's sickening and also humiliating for them to be so degraded. And for us as human specie to have permitted such evil and lack of civilisation and morality.

    Every POW should be treated well, the last thing an army wants to do is motivate the enemy to fight to the last man and never surrender. They'll just make the war more costly for themselves.

    I hope these stories of Ukrainian POW's being tortured reach their colleagues and make them fight even better. This war could end up wiping out a generation of Russian and Ukrainian men, at least the latter will die saving Ukraine and those heroes names will go down in history, but it's sickening. Putin will go down in history as the most hated man of our times.

      @@jetv1471 Sorry for the late reply - I would read Crime and Punishment (don't let having seen a movie stop you!) - It's one of the best novels ever written. Also read "The Brothers Karamazov" - I highly recommend the translation by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky.

      @@jetv1471 Sorry to disappoint you but both Dostoevsky and Tolstoy were Russian nationalists. They were also hooked on religion (never a good sign). I've read both but would rather steer you towards Ivan Turgenev, who had a pan-European outlook. 'Fathers and Sons' is incredibly moving.

      @@tazragames6770 No. There were in-depth interviews with Crimeans who lost family members to the FSB in 2014. They showed the family members being picked up by FSB agents and their bodies afterwards.

    "There was no coherent questions" so all the brutal "interrogations" were just out of hatred and perhaps frustrations. After seeing this, I guess now we all wonder what would happen to the Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered at Mariupol and being taken back by Russians to so called "Pro- Russian areas"...

    I cannot listen to the full content of these videos. I feel guilty if I accidentally drown a spider I don’t notice in the bath or stand on a snail in the dark on a path. So how you can inflict such pain and suffering on another human being, one of your own race, your own kind. It’s truly disgusting beyond belief. I know people say it’s war but you have to have that evil in you to start with or be so weak that you watch and let it happen.

I was just watching a video on all the stray dogs in Ukraine left behind as people fled. There are charities going out to try and feed as many as they can and some people who bravely didn’t evacuate are feeding their neighbours dogs etc. I get upset and teary just watching that. Yes isn’t it obscene the amount of money spent on warfare when all those starving and struggling around the world who have absolutely nothing could be looked after.

      The Ukrainians need Russian POWs for prisoner swaps. But some of the captured Russians are not being taken prisoners. The Russian artillery men are simply being snuffed out, from what I’ve read.

    Well i've seen with my eyes a video that shows ukrainian soldier torturing a russian prisoneer, he stabbed his left eye with a knife and making him die in unbelivable pain, so this dosen't amaze me at all. Once blood start's to flow, things get easier and easier, even torture.
