The room sizes are pretty standard for the USA but it's still a large home, considering the sheer number of rooms in that home. Then again, it's a tall home, whereas ours are more spread out on 1-2 levels with a possible finished basement level. Loved that home (but way too big for anything I'd want or need) - thanks for sharing!
Just remember how lucky you are to be an American citizen because here in UK homes are less then half the size of the average American home and double the price! This whole country is in turmoil at this point the government can't find free healthcare even though we pay super high taxes and there are a lot of cuts to education and currently there is a housing crisis because there are not enough houses being built in the country the high demand of housing is driven mostly by the artificial rise in immigration just the sheer size of the immigration is unsuitable for a tiny island compared to you guys who have masses of land available.
folkrockr but you do also realise this is a house which is directly in the city centre of the capital. would be interested to see equivalent size properties in similar locations within many American cities.
Yes, I realize this kind of home is most often in city centers, or close to them. I suppose if you enjoy that kind of lifestyle and have the disposable income...why not? I wouldn't know what to do with so much space unless I had 20 kids and a small army of nannies. lol
WOW...just watched the final product. Great job Dom! I was wondering if you would really be able to capture just how large the house was and you did an amazing job. Thanks for your videos!
Just wow... By the way dom are you using your new tamron zoom? if so what settings are you using because everything is really sharp all the time... and whatever nikon you are using has great auto exposure :)
This is really very cool house. Thank you very much for sharing this video with us. I think maybe nobody lives there, but now many houses for sale are so called "staged", so they appear as somebody is living there. This is to help the prospective buyers to imaging how it would be to actually live there. I recently photographed one of such houses myself. It was pretty big and beautiful as well. I wonder how long it took you to photograph it and how you did it? What lighting set up did you use?
its all very confusing, many people put their house on the market before they have moved out, they may not be able to move into their new house or buy their future house until their current house has been sold. so yest a lot of the properties are still being lived in while people are looking around them. most people use their current house as part of the deposit on their next one.
A house like this is my dream house, something about the old style windows and the big staircases has me hooked. I priced up one that was very close to what I want and it was in the region of £2.5m, by the time I'm able to afford it they will be closer to 3-4m =[
Might it be possible to reveal what cam, lenses and equipment you used to produce the finished product. A behind the scenes thought process of the shoot would be interesting to see and hear. Keep up the good work Dom, dare I say more interesting than your exercise vids. Ha!
A friend of mine owns a house exactly like that in Edinburgh. Just him, his wife and two kids rattling around in it. Compare it to prices down south here, £2m is a bargain.
I have a question. Im not sure how things are done in the UK, but i noticed this home and others in the JD Alexander website are all furnished. It even looks like people are still living there. Dont people who are moving or selling out carry their stuff with them??
Hi Dom, Thank you for your reply. So I guess the house looked to me as it might have been staged because the rooms were often almost empty and there was not too much stuff around. This could be because people living there certainly have so much space and can hide things inside various storage space. I wonder how long it took you to photograph this house and how you did it in terms of lighting? Maybe you can tell us more about that. Thank you.
Man I'm glad I don't have to pay the heating costs. Also, I don't like it when rooms are so big that you can hear an echo everywhere. I'd probably spend 2.000.000 pounds in a completely different house, speaking from a stylistic POV.
Pablo Sampaio I hear you. Can you imagine how bad the neighbours would be? They will be constantly pissed off about having to live in their small/cheap house next to the other poor people. No thank you.
Pablo Sampaio I bet they're just typical working class scum, stuck driving their 2013 Ferrari and only taking 3 holidays a year! Yuck. I'm actually angry at the fact they're making ME think about their pathetic lives. I mean, come on.
Scott Ishman Honestly, why are we talking about a subject that involves such a low income? I just found two million in my trouser's back pocket... i forgot to take it out...
Ironically, the house looks nicer in this video than in the promotional video in my opinion. I think the reason is because you shot everything from a low height in that video, while here you are shooting from eye-level, which gives a more natural perspective (i.e. how a person would actually see it in real life, unless that person is a child/midget).
it would be pretty impressive stagging as the pictures on the walls showed the family with their kids, in the room and also a shot of the family on a holiday in africa with some refugee kids, and then again with those refugee kids in the top bedroom of that property. that would be impressive photoshopping and property staging to go that for if you ask me. This is just how it is.
dayum! i live in vancouver canada where house prices are expensive as shit! seriously! 2 million euros is around 3 million dollars and for 3 million dollars at vancouver, you wouldn't even get half the value of this house!
it looks like my house, and did cost a bit less than mine... guys its not that fun, there is alot of maintenance, but our family do have maintenance people...
That big house. In Edinburgh. Looks absolutely. Wonderful. Sir.

WOW...just watched the final product. Great job Dom! I was wondering if you would really be able to capture just how large the house was and you did an amazing job. Thanks for your videos!
I love how you love the details in this house, like the cornicing.
Just wow... By the way dom are you using your new tamron zoom? if so what settings are you using because everything is really sharp all the time... and whatever nikon you are using has great auto exposure :)
Damit should have taken a outside shot as well!
Far, far away from a dream house... But damn that's cool, and huge, and elegant and...

You have a great job Dom!
This is a truly outstanding property!

OK this house is crazy awesome
Is that on Royal Terrace?? looks like the Royale Chimes Casino type building
LOL the servants quarters is bigger than my house! What an AMAZING house.
Btw a house like that here in L.A would be around $15mil.
Did you buy this house? Must be scary living alone here.
Lovely.
It reminds me of that mansion in the first Resident Evil. It'd make a great location for shooting a horror film.
Nice to see my house on YT :) I wish !
Totally worth the asking price.
Dom you the man bro keep up the good videos and thanx a ton
Dom you should have just used this video for the real estate website haha :) looks like a great house. Thanks for sharing!
Might it be possible to reveal what cam, lenses and equipment you used to produce the finished product. A behind the scenes thought process of the shoot would be interesting to see and hear. Keep up the good work Dom, dare I say more interesting than your exercise vids. Ha!
Awesome... And in Edinburgh! Haven't been there yet, unfortunately.
A friend of mine owns a house exactly like that in Edinburgh. Just him, his wife and two kids rattling around in it. Compare it to prices down south here, £2m is a bargain.
What a great house!
Thats ginormoousssss!!!
You should come to Orlando the houses are... HUGE! Tittle needs a change?
I would say he did, but the agent didn't use it. He mentioned he was asked to, so I don't see why he wouldn't have.
This is great job done here Dom.
I have a question. Im not sure how things are done in the UK, but i noticed this home and others in the JD Alexander website are all furnished. It even looks like people are still living there. Dont people who are moving or selling out carry their stuff with them??
Only £2m? that must be the starting price? In London that would be about £12m
Woow very nice house
Hi Dom,

And also, the final video was pretty damn good.

I thought about buying this house but, I'm claustrophobic.
Scott Ishman I thought about buying it but, two million is too cheap. I never buy a house that is less than 5 mil.
Pablo Sampaio I hear you. Can you imagine how bad the neighbours would be? They will be constantly pissed off about having to live in their small/cheap house next to the other poor people. No thank you.
Scott Ishman I didn't even consider that! Urgh! Imagine what cars the neighboors have! I mean, who doesn't own an helicopter!?
Pablo Sampaio I bet they're just typical working class scum, stuck driving their 2013 Ferrari and only taking 3 holidays a year! Yuck. I'm actually angry at the fact they're making ME think about their pathetic lives. I mean, come on.
Scott Ishman Honestly, why are we talking about a subject that involves such a low income? I just found two million in my trouser's back pocket... i forgot to take it out...
That is one nice house!
This mansion is just like a maze !
get in with the current companies that are doing it. going in as a free lancer just to the agencies may not be that great
I used to life on Royal Terrace
