I'm Italian and my parents have never liked brands. One of my mom's friends was very rich and often gave us her clothes which she didn't need anymore. They were by Armani, Valentino, Gucci...!
My mom sat down with a pair of scissors and cut the labels whenever possible. We tried to stop her but she was determined and said that we weren't sheeps. 😅 At school my siblings and I couldn't brag like the other children but some years later I learnt that I had been lucky to learn from my parents that wearing labels is silly.

Clothing has nothing to do with the mystery of creation. The mystery of creation is something that a human could never begin to understand without a great teacher. It was the same with those learning blocks we were given as a child. Sadhguru is absolutely right! If you are sensitive, then you realize how important it is to wear organic clothing. You can also feel the effect of the different colors. For example: Blue gives peace and relaxation, i can't sleep on red color because it is very activating, white is sattvic and you feel most comfortable. Black, on the other hand, absorbs negative heavy energies.

I have never purchased anything with someone's logo on it--I was never interested in impressing anyone, and I certainly was not going to advertise for some company!

Sadhguru is also a product. So are textiles. Everyone wears a costume. Surely most people know how to dress appropriately, without being identified.

If the person feels mocked or humiliated by this answer tells me that he is not proud of what he is doing. Very unconsciously people do this including me. When when someone explains with this much clarity, one should make a conscious decision if he wants to continue doing it or want to make changes in his approach

I'm living where jeans became popular, it's very cold in winter, snows some, and heavily forested, the stinging nettle can really tear the clothes and the thorns of blackberries, but I don't find them comfortable.

You must find a better fit and 100% cottons. I used to not like jeans too then I find a great shop keeper who told me “no man you wear it too tight, here try these” and I agreed. Now my 🥜 have room 😆

So I am finding this to be nothing other than true. I wondered why for so long now, every time I wear a black hoodie of mine in public, I have to wash it afterwards even if I wear it just once. I could not figure it out. Also why I feel the need to shower/bathe after going in public wearing black clothing. I was taught the opposite of this, but I'm finding that what I was taught is wrong. I was tricking myself into thinking it was right and was a protective color for clothing. I guess I knew all along, just didn't really come to terms with it directly...
