Really good information about water plants. I’m especially glad you mentioned some invasives which are all too readily available. Thanks! 🐸
Dwarf papyrus can work as container plants. We used pots with no drain holes but used a layer of gravel for stability and filled them the rest of the way with peat soil. Then to lessen evaporation we tucked coconut coir in the top of the containers right up to the Papyrus stalks. We kept them watered, but the coir helped them not need water multiple times during a single day. 🌱

I grow Cyperus alternifolius, umbrella palmsin Texas and have to cut the tops before the weather gets too cold an freezes at night to make new starts every year. I've had really good luck but not sure what soil PH works best for these, some I grow in clay, sand, rocks or just a large glass pot and they all do well. The water I use is from rain, ground well or distilled, city water has too much salt/chloride and makes the leaf tips yellow

Thank you for showing such various water plants. You had mentioned "native". Is that to your state or the country? You had also mentioned plants with flowers but never said if they are frangrent. Please clarify. Thank you. Mehran from San Diego

I know this video is about plants but, what type of fish would you put in those tubs if you wanted to.

Michael Wells guppies or Betta if you have a big one try goldfish

Also depends on your climate. Some zones get too cold for a year round tropical fish tub. If you have a small water garden I *Highly* recommend White cloud mountain minnows. They're beautiful and cold hardy. They don't get big like goldfish. If you want a goldfish tub I would start at 55gal and add 20-30 gal for each additional fish. Fancies will stay smaller than common goldfish, so take that into consideration.

Lizard's tail can be terribly invasive in moist soil. Keep it corralled!
