Back in Sep/Nov 2008, I used to get off at Surasak station to walk to the Sathon Saint View serviced apartments where my future Thai wife and I stayed (on my second two-month Thailand visit prior to eventually living there). The Saint Louis BTS station was before my time, but I remember the hospital well, because my fiancee fell ill and was treated there. We used the tuk-tuk often, too. around this time to get around. Her family were living at Soi 40, Rama 2 Road at this time, and I got to meet them. How I love the memories. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Good to see Bangkok in 2021 which is quite different to the time I was these last in early 2018. Although the Covid 19 pandemic has taken the lustre away this city still stand tall amongst the top 10 cities in the world! Also, I noticed there are many new tall buildings were built and still new constructions going on like it may never end. Love it! Thank you.
I LOVE this vid, when we go to ANY city that has a train we get on and ride it all the way around at least once and pick out cool things we want to go back to. Thank you for showing us all this, SO cool
Hi Jeroen Since subscribing we have so much enjoyed going with you from beaches to this transit system. You make your journeys interesting and enjoyable. We spent a few days in Bangkok about 20 years ago you seem to give us the feeling of actually living there if that makes sense. We look forward to going with you on past and future ‘adventures’😀. Thank you! David and Jill 🇨🇦
Jeroen every time I watch your videos when you are out and about there is some massive construction projects on the go in Bangkok,I’ve always got this dought in my mind when I see comments about this build back better on UA-cam my home town in England is a massive construction site too,but 30 years behind the rest of England if this is just a big part of it inner city development as one puts it,,,,I also see new subscribers leaving comments too, which is good for you, your channel has grown really quick since I first started to watch, cheers for the great content in your videos,,,, peace and happiness as always Jeroen,,,
Nice video as always, giving a little overview through the city. Also like that we share the same fascination for tall buildings and urban development ;) keep on going
I wish Canada have excellent public transportation like this. Every time I drive my car, I feel guilty knowing that I am contributing to greenhouse gases and global warming. Sadly in most parts of Canada, you need a car to get around because public transportation is unreliable. Another great video.
May I correct something in this VDO. The Queen Sirikit Hospital that you mention in 20:10 is a Queen Sirikit Building of Chulalongkorn Hos[ital. The Red Cross don't has hospital, it's just the building of Red Cross Agency. And there is the plan for adding the line from National Stadium in some day.
I enjoyed watching this video of the Si Lom Line. Will you be covering the other Lines in Bangkok? Hoping to travel again soon. Thanks for your videos, they keep me connected to Bangkok.
Could you film the MRT Blue Line, there are little video about it, I miss and love the sound when the train travels underground. I had a trip to Thailand 3 years ago and had a chance to go on that line from Rachadaphisek to Thai Culture Museum. Hope you can film it! Wish you a nice day!
Great vid. What is the history of why it was not extended from National Statium? Did they run out of money then. I can see why it wouldn't go as far as the Grand Palace, but Wat Saket may have been useful. Maybe there are still plans?
Well, the initial plan was to construct the W1 National Stadium and W2 Yot Se for the Western Part of the BTS Skytrain. However, after the National Stadium station, BTS would be running into an "OId Town Area" where strict laws are enforced (the laws restrict the building designs, building heights, and all trains in the area must be running underground). I'm a Bangkok train enthusiast, so I've heard some news from the insiders that the station will be constructed as an only underground station in the BTS Skytrain system right after the construction of the Sena Ruam (N6) and the renovation of Saphan Taksin (S6) station (and probably after the government pays the debt).
May I correct you just one point on 20:10? It's Chulalongkorn Hospital, not Queen Sirikit hospital, Queen Sirikit is just the one building in the entire hospital complex. Thanks for leading the world come here.
Thanks Jeroen for sharing the video. Can you buy a Train Pass that lasts for a day, a week, a month? Can it be used on any line or is there a different ticket for each line?
Thank you. I love the modern architecture, but I hope the Thai authorities understand part of the appeal of Bangkok are the areas where cheap housing , ingenuity and commerce, all mix side by side to show the traditional Bankok we all love. It be a thousand pities if they follow China by getting rid of too much of their historic inheritance.

In reply to my above post, a correction: the Saint Louis BTS station came AFTER my time in late 2008, not before.
After not have been in Bangkok for 1.5 years I even miss the BTS lady. สถานีต่อไป ... Next station ...

Probably nobody would believe me, but I actually miss a fully packed BTS train. One of the things I used to hate about Bangkok is a sign of normalcy.
BLACKPINK in Your Area ... Thank you , I love BLACKPINK
Aahhh I m the second one!😉
Leuk. Op 31 seconden zag ik mijn huis.

Wow, I have never seen the BTS so empty!
I live in my home 2 weeks and not go anywhere!!!

Thank you. I always speak direct when I film. Thank you for letting me know. Now I am up to date. :-)

Thanks Jeroen for sharing the video. Can you buy a Train Pass that lasts for a day, a week, a month? Can it be used on any line or is there a different ticket for each line?
Hello Jereon, is this a new BTS line or is it an extension of the old Silom line? As I've never noticed this cemetrey at 17:29. As always nice video!
Hi, the part you were mentioning is located in the original section of the Silom Line.
@@wasin147 Thanks 👍
Why no drone tours?
Oh lot of passengers huhhhhh
👍👍👍
Is the Thaksin Statin still one track or have they finally expanded it?
The BTS bridge across the Chao Praya is still 1 track.
Leuke tour van je BTS. 1 vraagje waarom staat er op elke station een man in het blauw?
Can you for long return journey, without station exit, on one BTS fare for cheap sightseeing purpose? or is there time limit on a the BTS toiken?
I think you can stay on as long as you want. And just pay for the difference in stations.
I like black pink and Pepsi cola.❤️👍
wow ratchadamri there got no people haha😂
