Just bought an SI from a bad owner and have been bringing it back to life. When I got it the battery was old, probably stock still. Front bumper was loose, wasn't topped off with oil, was not full synthetic either, dude had been running 89-91octane instead of 93, the timing chain was unhappy and the drive belt and idler pulley was old as well. Have since re did the timing, have done trans flush, have had it running on full synthetic about 6k miles with 2 oil changes now, got new headlights and bumper, new drive belt, idler pulley, waterpump, harmonic balancer, and new exhaust. Finally had to change the battery because of the cold weather. I installed a new one and this "enter code" nonsense comes up. Never have I replaced a battery and had to jump through hoops just to get a radio on but I appreciate the video very much. I would've never figured this out because the guy who owned it before me did not have a manual or any cards with the code written down. Obviously he wasn't too concerned about upkeep anyways. Car only has 130k miles on it and rust free. She runs better each day under my care, and I'm thankful to have some tunes with the ride. Subscribing and liking.

For anybody in Canada who drives an Acura CSX, you will need to obtain a Honda Civic (US) VIN number from the link they provided to obtain codes. Be warned, you will receive a total of 25 different codes to try out. One of them will work. It definitely worked for me! Thank you!! My alternator went out and when they fixed it I saw this 'reset code' on my radio dial. I was like "Oh great!" I thought I would have to go find a Honda dealer to reset it for me. You just saved me probably $100! Thanks again.
Your code might be on a sticker in your glove box (mine was) or in the manual. You can also call your local Honda dealer, tell them you changed your battery and you need the code, most of them will help over the phone.

@@S0ldierOfG0d happy it helped, I swapped my radio for an Android touchscreen one mine was crapping out. It's much better but I still have a broken groundwire somewhere. The defrost still makes the radio cut out.

Thank you! As a Canadian, I found the code in the glovebox with the owner's manual, among other materials of the like, such as instructions in a small pamphlet. If all else failed, a call to Honda would have been necessary to get further assistance.

Thank you! Quick and to the point! I was able to find my code in my used vehicles glovebox manulas but due to the #4 on my radio not registering 9/10 times the radio kept rejecting it. Just the simple video of the process and demonstration of how the programming SHOULD work helped me to be able to get mine to work..just had to carefully keep hitting the #4 until it registered..until I watched this video I thought my radio display had pixel problems because the letters would disappear!! D'oh!! Got it on first try after this video!! Cheers mate and thanks again!

Those who cant find american VIN , they should only go to the website in the link and select make and model of the car and then use any vin number on the list with serial number of the car . It will work. Mine worked that way. Give it a try guys.

Still works! Just changed the battery on my 2006 Accord and this was the first time I’ve had to go through this rigmarole. On previous battery changes I only had to change the presets on the radio. What I don’t understand how this an anti-theft device. If I’d stolen the car I could have done the same procedure.
The five digit code is in your cubby on the passenger side and open the cubby and on your very left you should see the code hope this help

In my 2006 Honda Civic Accord. My CD/AUX does not work! Once I hold both 1 and 6 down then the audio pwr button it says DIAG. I haven’t been able yo listen to my music from my phone in months. I went to switch out the aux about 3 months ago and I’m still not able to get it to work. I need help. What should I do??!

Hi, I have a question, I just finish to change radio on my Honda Civic, is working, but I don’t have any sounds and they don’t change to aux mode, my Honda is 2010, but I put radio from Honda 2006, can be a problem of ages?
This worked for me! I got 2 codes from honda, the 1st one was not the code for me, so I tried the 2nd one and it worked (Careful! You only get 10 tries).

I do all this and the Radio comes on and stays on for 1 minute and goes off and then you have to start all over again. If you do this 10 times then the radio stays off for 1 hour then you can do it all over again. Why is that? please help

The site to convert Canadian VIN to United States VIN doesn’t work. It just gives the same VIN as I normally have.

The blue display turns on and off for me, (and is mostly off) but the radio is unaffected (I can still change stations/volume, etc). Any ideas what might be going on?
Press and hold 6 1 and the power on and off button all at same time and you will get a serial code that you can submit to Honda to get another code.
I had issues also and had to keep pressing 61 on and off at the same time also to get the serial code and submit it a couple of times and then finally got three different codes to try and it finally worked.

After I put in all the information to get the code for five days straight, the website has been down and it says to call a one 800 number and when I call it it tells me to go into a code that I haven’t been given yet
when I go to input the code it says “enter c” I press the first digit to the code the honda radio website gave me and it changes to “enter co” continues until “enter code” where when the next number pressed would result in an error. I’m sure I had my right code & everything I double checked.
I did it. Dude it works. I appreciate the lesson. I was looking for it in the manual. Did not say nothing about this.

@@madmaniggy45 once you put your car's year & type on the provided link you should be getting more than one vin & keep trying each one of them. Hopefully it will work for you. It did in my case. Good luck. I just replied to William & wrote the links for him.🙏

What do I do if it just says ENTER C and not the rest of the s word CODE? When I enter my secret code the ODE comes up and tells me I’ve made my first error out of the 10 I’m allowed. Thanks for any help you can give.

How do I find the American VIN for my Canadian civic? The site in your description doesn't give American VIN. Am I missing something here? Please help me out.
All VINs on that page should work (it's an american page) - it might say made in Canada in the VIN decode data but the VIN itself should still work - if it doesn't try a few more.
