They were eating pistachio nut's in the car. Back in the 70's till the 90's, they would dye them red. So when you ate them your finger's and lip's would turn red like that.
I think they basically stopped doing the dye because it added nothing and basically just added a chemical that is probably unhealthy.
Not sure why they did it in the first place...
@@gregquinn7817 probably to hide discoloration of the shells, and it's more visible please maybe?
@@gregquinn7817 traditional harvesting in the middle east, especially in Iran, resulted in a lot of discoloration of the shells, so they were dyed red for appearance's sake.
In the 80s a bunch of trade embargoes went into effect, shifting pistachio sourcing to California, where there's more mechanized harvesting and drying that doesn't result in the shells being stained
I thought it was some kind of sunflower seeds or something, because when you started, you can't stop 😂
@@gregquinn7817 they did it because it was popular in the Middle East which is where we used to import them from mostly. Then we started harvesting them mostly in California. It was an artificial cherry dye that was used~you can still buy them. Some places carry them year round but mostly you see them around the holidays. 😉
You think it's weird seeing OJ in this? They almost made him the Terminator, except the filmmakers didn't think he'd make a convincing killer. Hoo boy.
At least he saves a kitten in Towering Inferno...
The ZAZ team was making "bloody glove" jokes during the DVD commentary in the beginning of the movie when he's at the dock.
They also considered Lance Henriksen for the role of Terminator. And tbh, i think he would've killed in that role. Pun intended.
🤣🤣🤣 I would have loved to seen that
@@arisucheddar3097 one of my favorites with a John Williams score.
leslie nielson was a really gifted performer. rip.
One of the best.
@@EOMReacts the word you were looking for is double entendre. That's a word or expression that can be taken two ways. Like when he says to her hey nice beaver it's out of the camera shot so of course your mind is left to wonder and make your own ideas up of what that means. Here's one...a man stops at a produce and vegetable stand by the side of the road. He goes up to the woman running it and he starts talking to her. He says...WOW! Those are really huge melons! Did you grow them yourself? LOL! That's double entendre because it can taken two ways. In comedies usually one of the ways is in a sexual innuendo kind of way. #NYGENXBIKERLADY
“Exchanging money with the informant“ is still one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen put to film. The first time I saw it, I choked from laughing so hard.
Ditto.
Yes it is!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I laugh so hard at the baseball scene when the umpires were throwing each other the ball 😂
And the "where the hell am I" part for some reason was so funny to me lol
My favourite gags from the movie.
OJ putting his foot through the door at the start makes me laugh harder then any other physical gag I've seen in a movie.
The struggling with the pillow gag.
"and where the hell was I"
"I shoot the bastards, that's my policy"
"I shoot the bastards" is actually a Dirty Harry reference.
"Having your nuts bit off by a laplander, THATS a way to go."
J: "We have different dreams."
CLASSIC!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love John Houseman's cameo as the driving instructor.
That whole scene was funny
"Now, normally, you would not be going 65 down the wrong way of a one-way street."
We make drivers the old fashioned way…
The guy that stands up in the stadium and calls out Enrico's name was in Teen Wolf and Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Jerry zucker once paid 10k for for a horse to run in a race and named it “awl pink” and told the jockey to run it along the inside rail so they guy announcing the race would have to say “and it’s awl pink on the inside”
🤣🤣🤣🤣 that’s amazing
So funny thing about Weird Al’s cameo was that it was his dream come true! Police Squad! was his favorite TV show. He would have been happy just being an extra in the movie but the Zucker’s heard that he was a fan, they wrote the scene of him on the plane. Weird Al would take first dates to see this movie and would wear the same loud Hawaiian shirt that he did in the film and would t mention to the women that he had the cameo. When Leslie Nielsen passed away, his casket was carried by the Canadian Mounted Police and the them to Police Squad! was played. He originally had his career-changing performance in Airplane!, also by the Zucker brothers and Police Squad! was originally a parody show that was cancelled after after 6 episodes in 82. Luckily we got this in good ol’ 88. Great reaction as always and remember to never accidentally face plant on another man’s rhubarb!!
I wish there was still a place to enjoy Police Squad! It has all been taken down as far as I know. Speaking of Weird Al, UHF is free on YT atm.
Awesome Movie and Work Bro, Thanks 👍👍 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
Had a group watch this in the theater.
I WAS sitting next to my brother.
By 'was', he rolled over into the walkway/stairs laughing uncontrollably.
Funny as sh&t!!!
You reminded me of when a coworker and i went to a live taping of a TV show called Night Stand with Dick Dietrich. We didn’t fall on the floor but we were laughing so hard we started leaning to left. I was leaning on her and she was leaning on the total stranger next to her. That show was ridiculously funny but I don’t know if it would stand the test of time.
@@mildredpierce4506 Not familiar, but I'll look it up. Thanks!
BTW, the scene that killed him - The expired Chinese Takeout.
That’s hilarious
I laugh out loud when you said “still better than Fergie”.
Also, R.I.P. Leslie Neilsen.
I've been watching a few of your reactions now, and I have to say you are an actual breath of fresh air. There are other reactors out there sure, but you come across as so genuine and funny in your comments, I am constantly laughing away to myself while watching. Thank you. :)
At 26:36 who played the mayor there in this movie is actress Nancy Marchand who played in the Sopranos as Livia Soprano-- Tony's mom on the Sopranos starting in 1999. (HBO iconic TV show)
I still got to watch the sopranos
Comedy classic. The villain is played by Ricardo Montalban who played Khan in Star Trek 2.
He was also a minor character in Sweet Charity
Mr. Roark from Fantasy Island
Weird Al was in my city a couple of weeks ago to do shows. He's still performing, still super popular.
"Nice beaver." / "Thank you. I just had it stuffed." LOL
🤣🤣🤣
Nice ankle bracelet.
Oh, did it slip down there again?
That’s Elvis Presleys wife. Priscilla Presley.
She was bad
ex wife
5:30 - Your blank expression says it all. It's a trilogy of silliness!
Lol if they all like this then I know they are silly as hell
"You killed 5 actors!"
"He still got a job?"
Of course, he's a cop.
Facts.
As a Swede, I can confirm Viking food is pickled fish 😂
they got a Canadian to sing our national anthem.
this is actually a sequel/reimagining of an old tv show called Police Squad. This and Airplane are the movies that cemented Nelson as a comedy actor, before Airplane he was a serious dramatic actor.
I thought the one part was a reference to the Joker and Batman, too. But this movie came out a year before Batman. The guy falling into the chemicals was a setup for Ludwig finding the finger in the hot dog later on.
That makes sense. I didn’t even think about the finger
I grew up watching this film and I NEVER noticed that 😂😂😂😂
I thought for sure your bleep icon was going to be the beaver. Don't forget to give us some naked Gun sequels coming up!
lol that was one of the options
Enrico Pallazzo is the real hero.
He was lol
18:29 is a play on a scene from Dirty Harry (1971) which is another classic you should watch.
It’s on my to watch list
Pistachio shells used to be dyed red back in the day.
Did you know Reggie Jackson had a candy bar for a brief period of time, called Reggie!"? I watched a copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special taped off tv in 1978 including the commercials and synchronized it with the comedic commentary by Rifftrax. A commercial for Reggie! came on and they said "How come they haven't made a Pujols candy bar yet?". 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Yep, Reggie Jackson. And did you notice that he walked just like Robocop? You should check out the sequels, they're also funny as hell! 🤣😉🙂
Lol I didn’t pay much attention to it at first but now that mention it I definitely see it
Huge props for knowing that was Reggie Jackson! Very few...have picked up on that. Well done my friend!
Most reactors were born after Reggie retired, and/or aren't North American, and/or aren't big sports fans. In 1988 he was a household name in North America, but 34 years later... not so much. I'm with you though, I wish more reactors knew who he was.
I had a Reggie Jackson baseball card. My pops always told me he was a beast
@14:20 Jay, you called it. That’s definitely a Chevrolet Corsica. I used to own a Beretta.
OMG...the face you made and the way you said, "why he break that ice cream like that?" 🤣
Always a pleasure to see my favorite UA-camr and his human enjoying a fun movie
🤣🤣🤣 that’s hilarious
That Fergie line 🤣 💀
🤣🤣🤣
Rough day at work couldn't wait to come home and watch your reaction to this! I never get tired watching this, jokes still as funny to me after over 30 yrs, RIP Leslie Neilson
Leslie Neilson is a funny dude
Your dog is so adorable! When he sat up while you were pointing out the movie artwork on your wall, that was so cute
The same people did Airplane. Thiso is is good, but Airplane was better
I got that on my watch list
Hilarious. The first time your dog moves is when Leslie sings.
Lol he knows good music when he hears it
Fun fact: Randy Newman (creator of such Disney/Pixar hits as "You got a friend in me) wrote and performed "I love LA".
-The main plot of the movie is borrowed from "The Manchurian Candidate".
I like the Blazing Saddles reference you dropped at the beginning. Love your reactions, man.
Much appreciated, homie
5:36 he did everything BUT die or shoot back 😅🤣 that part always makes it hard to breathe for me
I love these types of slapstick/physical comedy movies. The 80s were filled with them and this is one of my favorites along with the Police Academy joints!
"Drebin, I don't want anymore trouble like you had last year on the South Side. Understand? That's my policy."
"Yes. Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's MY policy."
"That was a Shakespeare-In-The-Park production of JULIUS CAESAR, you moron! You killed 5 actors! Good ones."
Fun Fact: This is one of three 1988 comedies that features a scene in which a villain is run over by a steamroller. The others are A Fish Called Wanda (1988) and Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988).
Name Change Fact: This movie is a big-screen continuation of the cult cop spoof series Police Squad! (1982). The title was changed to avoid confusion with the Police Academy film franchise, which were also co-created by Pat Proft. David Zucker remembers that they were given a list of about twenty potential titles, and they chose "The Naked Gun" because it promised so much more than it could possibly deliver.
Ed Recasting Fact: According to David Zucker in the DVD commentary, the studio insisted on the casting of an Oscar winner in one of the major roles. This led to the casting of George Kennedy, who had been actively campaigning for the role of Ed Hocken for several months, saying that he was furious at having missed his chance to spoof himself in Airplane! (1980).
Additional Cast fact: Leslie Nielsen spent the entirety of his career up to the point of "Police Squad!" working as an extremely serious actor playing very stern, very deadpan melodramatic characters on TV soap operas. His years at being able to deliver absolutely ridiculous dialogue with a straight face is exactly what they wanted for the character of "Frank Drebin". When Leslie came in to read the character they didnt give him a script or a rundown, they just said "this is a comedy and you're a 1930's gumshoe" then they started improvising a scene. Nielsen said that within a few lines of back and forth he knew what the idea was and he absolutely loved it because he never gets a chance to be silly and have fun at work.....by the end of the audition the casting director was having an asthma attack from laughing 😆😆😆😆
Another Additional Cast Fact:
Leslie Nielsen is such a genuinely silly soul that for about 30 years he takes a tiny "fart machine" in his pocket when he does late night talk shows in order to be able to drop perfectly timed farts into conversation..... Straight deadpan, no acknowledgement of the fart.... and just drives through with the rest of the interview.
Fuckin Hilarious 😆😆😆
@22:00 Almost no one notices or mentions the fact that Enrico Pallazzo’s tuxedo fit Frank perfectly despite the size difference between them.
Watching you all day today bro.
Hope you enjoyed
One of my favorite reactions to this movie because of the "seriously?" expression on your face at the more ridiculous jokes. Fantastic reaction!
Thank you 🙏🏾
"He's still doin' better than Fergie". Man. you ain't lyin'!!! LOL
Idk if anyone mentioned it, but the main chick in this movie is Elvis Presley's widow, Priscilla.
Also, you talking about the Viking food reminded me, a friend told me there is an actual restaurant called "Dorsia" , as in THAT Dorsia, from American Psycho. In Milwaukee of all places. They made the place after the film started becoming popular again, so it's got sort of a hoity-toity, yet horror theme to it. And, it even says on its website, "Don't just stare at it, eat it." I saw that and freakin died, rofl. edit (there is, of course, the original Dorsia in New York, but I'd never want to go there. I'm betting the one in Milwaukee serves proper portion sizes compared to the NY one, lol)
🤣🤣🤣 that’s amazing. I’m bout to look that up now
My butter wing 😂😂😂😂 ... This was awesome dude , great job to you and the puppies😂 . Dude have you seen hot shots ? or hot shots part deux? . Love silly movies like this . Thanks J ,needed this laugh today lol cheers
I have not seen them
@@J_EOMReacts hopefully one day you will
ha ha haaaaaa "Butterwings" is one of my wife's nicknames for me. Of course, I know this is where it comes from. But that busted me up you're gonna call your next girl "butterwings."
Lol that’s awesome that she calls you that
@@J_EOMReacts It's one of many she has for me. Our first Halloween together, we went as the Munsters, and since then she has called me "Herman" (I'm a foot-plus taller). She has MANY nicknames for me. All good, that I know of. ;)
There's two more movies. And it used to be a TV show called Police Squad.
So Glad you Saw The Snot..... Some people Don't see the Snot ,Saw This Movie in the Theater when it came out .... Thought it was The Funniest thing Ever
I just noticed you got the limited edition godfather's "Knight" two-color screen print French Kraft-Tone Index off-white poster print framed on your wall. Really cool. I have the tri-color screen print on brushed metallic foil backed Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Special "Aftermath" myself. #28. Never noticed your poster before. Idk, thought it was neat. Huge godfather fan btw
That’s dope as hell. I think you’re the first person who mentioned it.
One awesome movie similar to this is “Dragnet” with Dan Aykroyd and Tom
Hanks. More “eventually we’re buddy cops” though rather than Frank’s lone wolf type
17:13 from the shape and color, the things they are eating are probably spiced peanuts, that stuff will get your fingers and lips colored.
Or it could be some kind of american candy that i dont know of, but that would not explain why they have shells that are thrown away.
Pistachios used to come with that red dye on them. They are eating pistachios.
I remember seeing this at the movies. Great movie. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed
16:48 Your bulldog smiled on the bed when you said, "I'm glad sex don't work that way, I would never do it"
i had to pause the video because i was laughing so hard at the movie and seeing you reaction made it better.
“Oh, he got a little Weinstein in him, don’t he?” 😂😂😂 Every now and then you drop a GEM! 🔥
Lol I do what I can
I wasn't expecting you to roast Fergie like that. lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Nekkid Gun" 😆
JL, buddy, you make me crack up all the time. Thanx for another great reaction 🤛✊👊🤜👍😎 !!!
Glad you enjoyed
Weird Al's acting was amazing. ✌️
It's laugh out loud funny for most of us. It don't get any funnier than this movie.
I said in the chat, the day this movie isn't funny to me anymore is the day I'm ready to die. LoL
Dude can you please review
- Short Circuit
- Bloodsport
- Beetljuice
- Innerspace
- Police Academy
Short Circuit and Beetlejuice he’s seen, but the others are on the list. Police Academy and Bloodsport are both from the first batch we added.
@@EOMReacts fair enough 😁👍🏻
Lol. My first car was a Corsica. 4 Door Hatchback. Big back seat.
That’s awesome lol
Thanks bruh. I needed these laughs tonight.
Glad I could help
Man I got to say I love all your reactions you're hilarious just amazing reactions thank you every time I watch one of your videos you literally make my day thank you
Much appreciated and glad you’re enjoying!
I watched the reaction again. "He's still doing better than Fergie." LoL
🤣🤣🤣🤣
23:22 - You said it, not me... 🐥
🤣🤣🤣 I knew it
Omg. Love him. He is in one of the scary movie movies too. He may actually be in two of them. His humor unmatched.
11:41 - Scenes like this had me laughing out loud the first time I saw it. Can't help but think you're not into this sort of humor. lol
17:11 - Those are red dye pistachios.
Lol nah I really did enjoy it and I thought it was super funny. I’m just one of those people something really have to catch me off guard to make me laugh out loud. Like if you watch my Big Lebowski reaction the only time I bust out laughing is when the chair thing happened. That’s what I mean about laugh out loud. Lol like my favorite comedy is Zack and Miri but it’s never made me laugh out loud
Aw. Dog is gorgeous bro
Thank you 🙏🏾
Yes!!!! The puppers and I are going to enjoy this one! Get the treats and belly rubs ready, let's do this!🐕🐾👀😎😝🍻🍷🚬😂😂😂😂👍💪
ANYONE SEE THE DRIVER?
ANYBODY CATCH THE LICENSE PLATE?
I GOTTA GET INSIDE.
🤣🤣🤣
They are pistachios. Back in the day they had this red die theyd be covered in for some unknown reason. It would stain your fingers like Doritoes.
JL & Blank Drebin grabbing sponsors now! Going the big time. When you edit Naked Gun 2, use your open eye, Blank. Say...that's a nice beaver...
Do you think if Elvis was alive, he’d let Pricilla play ‘butter-wings’? No way!🤔🤣😎
The guy that meets Dreben at the airport, George Kennedy, was in one of the best ever prison movies, Cool Hand Luke.
Yeah I agree!
In the crotch end of friendship bro 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
12:36 To be honest, i belive it was a way of expressing "Exotic" Food... i dont belive there is any place out of scandinavia / Greenland / the Faroe Islands where anybody would still make "Viking" food.
Because it would be consisting of dried fish, burried wale meat and mould cheese.
I can not think of any person who would pay to eat that stuff.
17:50 "The Blue Boy" by Gainsborough is valued at about $10,000,000.
🤯🤯
Weird Al is friends with the directors and makes a cameo in all 3 naked gun movies
i cant find you on audea - can you post audio versions of your videos there? would love to listen to them! thanks again for the great content!
I will see what we can do
One of us has to die...bahahaha 🤣🤣🤣laughed so hard almost pissed myself lol...are u on Tik Tok
We are, trying to more often. If the link isn't on the banner, I'll try to go fix it.
I had to check...this actually came out in 1988 which was a year BEFORE the Michael Keaton Batman movie with Jack Nicholson falling into the vat of chemicals and becoming the Joker. Weird.
That’s wild
FYI Jane was played by Priscilla Presley, the wife of the King.
I love your dog's, and I, also, love your reaction to this movie. These types of movies are "laugh out loud" funny to me. I was cracking up!
The movie is hilarious but if you watch my reaction you notice I only bust out laughing at super funny stuff that catch me off guard. I watch Zach and Miri everyday for a year it’s my favorite comedy I think it’s hilarious but I never busted out laughing out loud once watching it.
OJ was considered for the Bad Guy in "The Terminator", but the studio said nobody would believe him as a killer
🤣🤣🤣 imagine the face on the person who made that decision when the chase went down
OJ had a reality prank show where he dressed in disguise. All the jokes referenced the murders. It’s astonishing to me that none of these people were fazed by it. Some of them didn’t know who he was even out of disguise or didn’t care. I think that’s as revolting as it gets! I can see why they didn’t cast him. He’s pathetic as an actor.
That's Elvis ,wife. Lol. Didn't know she was in movie.
She bad lol
12:25
Wait. You've never had viking food? There's a restaurant near my house which makes only viking food. AMAZING stuff.
The mead served in the rune-encrusted oxen horn is my fav.
25:54 Yes. That is Reggie Jackson... armed to assassinate the Queen of England... who is at a baseball game.
@6:38 …..those of us that live in Los Angeles IYKYK, half way to…..
If you liked this one. Check out Dracula: Dead and Loving It. Another Leslie Neilson classic.
It’s on the list
You're more funny than the movie 😂 Thanks for makin my day a little better guys 👍
I’m glad I could help
@19:55 The funny thing about that comparison is that Batman came out a year after this movie.
