    Ive owned a 2005 with AWD for about 4 years. Currently 186000 miles. The ride is super comfortable. Huge trunk. It's been rock solid reliable. Just normal maintenance.

    We bought our 2005 FORD FIVE HUNDRED brand new from our Ford dealer. This car has been absolutely WONDERFUL. We have the AWD (with the CVT transmission) - NO PROBLEMS AT ALL and it runs like a top. Way to go Ford. Always and forever we will buy your cars and trucks! you are the BEST!

    Bought a 2006 Five Hundred AWD Limited with CVT in fall 2022 as my first car. Absolutely loving it despite being the complete opposite of what I envisioned my first car to be lol. I get compliments on its looks all the time despite having minor rust and pre-curbed rims. Perfect for highway cruising (+500km weekly commutes), and I occasionally did Calgary-Fort Mac (750km) on a single tank. Put 35,000km on it since purchase and it's still very happy at 250k. My one gripe is power, as it can barely move out of its own way, and there is no aftermarket scene for it so what I have is what I have.

    Just bought one for my daughter 95000 miles one owner elderly with all service documentation. She wasn't thrilled but she is just out of school and I think it's a good car for the $2500 I paid. Bank of Dad financed. I hope my judgement is proven right. If I am wrong I will never live it down about making her get a Granny car. It's got a sunroof. In my time anything that ran was cool. This isn't the 70's anymore .

      @@idkanymore1298 Better than she would like to admit . It has about 135,000 miles. It's had a minor issue or two but about $1500 in repairs over the last few years but air blows cold runs good and now a total of $4000 over three years not bad. Interior still great sunroof still works and doesn't leak. I would give $2500 for it again today. After she started working she has began to appreciate where money comes from.

    I drive a 2006 Ford 500 all-wheel-drive Limited addition. Basic stock white, looks like an old man car, but after 16 years this thing drives great! Zero dents on this ride, leather interior is still I would say at 9 1/2 out of 10. No rips, no tears,no nothing. Great car. Headlights are a bit faded I’ve buffed them out the best I can but within the next month or so I plan on replacing those with new aftermarket unless I could find a good deal on some Ford OEM lights. Also the six CD player refuses to work but this is something I want to replace also within the next month or so with a double din navigation SiriusXM Bluetooth all that good modern stuff. Overall, this is a great car. Ice cold AC for these ridiculously hot Arizona summers. Thanks for your tutorial, we 500 owners seem to be few and far between. 🤪

    Nice review. A coworker, at my daughter's job gave her a 500 Limited for zero dollars. Solid, no rust. Did have vacuum leaks. Anyway, I decided to replace a number of parts. MAF sensor, camshaft and crankshaft sensor, fuel temp/ pressure sensor, since all these things were problems for people on line that had this car. Even removed both valve covers in check valve clearance. Not a bad investment of time and a few dollars for a car that was gift. Oh! and I enjoyed the project. • @FLINTmitten810
      @FLINTmitten810 3 роки тому +3

      @@christopherds3880 it’s a terrible design, an easy to get to location. The plastic thermostat housing is a brittle piece of shit, the water pump has an aluminum alloy housing with a plastic impeller… AND the worst part is they’re driven from either a keyway at the end of the camshaft, or a bolt that threads into the end of the camshaft. So yeah location is okay… it’s the design that’s terrible. They have a reverse flow, pressurized cooling system with a bullshit expansion tank. Almost impossible to bleed air out of, especially with the heater core location.

    My 2007 Ford Fivehundred is the second one I've owned, my first one my youngest took good care of wrecking it. In my never to be humble opinion, the Ford Fivehundred is the most underrated car of the current and past century. The people that bellyache about it being underpowered, frankly make me laugh all the way to Timbuktu` and back. Obviously they are incompetent. The power is not exceptional, it will never be a Ferrari, but it doesn't perform like a Trabant or a Prinz either. Y'all want a hot performer? Go get a Euro car WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS AND THE EXTREMELY HIGH MAINTENANCE COSTS THEY COME WITH! If the Ford Fivehundred had a bit more sound proofing and had smoother suspensions it would give a Mercedes E Class a run for its money. As it is this car is very comfortable, smooth, quiet, very dependable, great fuel mileage, hard worker that never says NO! and, to top it off, the parts are affordable, easy to get and any Joe-blo mechanic can work on it because it is very easy to work on. Once again, the low power? Nonsense, y'all dont know what y'all are yapping about so, "shut the front door"! A bought another one after my first one got wrecked and I would buy a third one. Ciao.

    • @Jakepf
      @Jakepf Місяць тому

      Jeez, wym easy to work on. Everything is so tight and difficult to navigate around. Removing the catalytic converters alone is a CHORE. Omgg. And then the serpentine belt is a nightmare to get off and replace. Fuck, they didn't make it ti easy to work on at all. Plus they used weird standards for bolts and such making it annoying to have to go get a different tool for everything when most other cars are interchangeable.

    Buyer beware this car has notorious electrical problems. If you buy this great looking, comfortable and quite car there is a very big chance you will spend thousands of dollars trying to stop the electrical system from shorting out or burning your horn, speedometer, fuel pump, headlights, high beams, AC, passenger side meeter, sensors and computer... The list goes on and on. This could have been a great car but it was a big POS

    • @99Hudson

      That wasn’t my experience at all. I had an ‘06 Limited for seven years, I bought it new. At 163,000 miles, I gave it to a friend, who drive it another 60,000 miles or so before he sold it in 2018. The only repair I had during my years of ownership was a new water pump. The only other things were normal wear items like shocks, rotors, etc. the 2013 Fusion I replaced it with was a recall ridden, electrical and cooling system nightmare that I couldn’t wait to get rid of. No more Fords for me.
