Completely agree with you, had one the other month, rebuilt engine GPZ 11 test ride all ok, sat Idling no problem. Gave back to customer, who went on motorway oil leak base gasket from oil working its way up crankcase studs you wouldnt read about it! luckily; engine out, crankcase bottom off, is a pain but not a terminal pain. So, yes put the miles on it THEN when happy return to the customer ! ,,, ( unless u have a cool customer that doesnt mind ! )
Great Job, if you can't find them , grind them gears 🤣 Your a good mechanic, I watched the footage 🎥🎬🎞️ , about tricks of the trade, swapping out gears and the clutch, , unfortunately your fifty years too late Mate 🇬🇧♥️👍‼️ it's truly a labor of love, ♦️♦️♦️ As Always Diamond Dave ♦️♦️♦️
What next? Another episode with the RE Constipation? I'm keen to see you getting some miles in on it, as I was very favourably impressed with the one I had a go on, being accustomed to Triumph and BSA.
I had a 1962 BSA 650 single carb bike (I think it was called a Super Rocket or such) that I bought in 1971 when I was 16. I traded a 1962 corvair for it. I liked the way it sounded and ran but I had never heard of locktite and had no torque wrench. Seemed like every time I rode it something new vibrated loose. I pushed it back home for miles. Probably worth something now, but I sold it for $100 when it blew the jugs off the bottom end (for the 2nd time).
Fantastic job Paul , it now looks , sounds and goes as I would imagine the owner thought it was going to be like when they bought it . A pat on the back to you and the owner . Hope they get many many miles of enjoyment from it . PS will we be seeing a car resto on the channel ? ( The MK 1 Cortina hiding in the lane )
traffic hazzards come in all shapes and sizes paul, the owner of that mutt has a responsibility to other road users, god knows you had enough near misses this year, due to other peoples negligence,
Well done Paul! You’ve made a lovely bike out of the 'restored' bag of nails that you were presented with. Again, well done.
i think you love that bike and dont want to give it back.
My thoughts too, lol
I'm inventing a motorbike that'll get 125 miles on 4 liter's of petrol, 200 cc with a 7 speed transmission 🇬🇧♥️👍‼️
Mate that engine is purring. You should be very proud of your efforts.
There's nothing like the sound of a nice BSA twin under throttle.. Looks nice too. Great video Paul, thanks.
I think that dog will be listening for you approaching!
Sadly, I think he might get run over soon, if he keeps on like that.
Enjoyed the ride! Also seeing the roads and scenery from here in metro Detroit is a treat. Miss my old Triumph!
Brilliant job Paul. You've turned one shiny screw up of a restoration job into a bike good for years, that any owner would be delighted with.
Well done Paul! That was a marathon but you got there and it looks like a brilliant bike now.
A silk purse from a sow's ear. Another job jobbed. Hoping that you'll celebrate with a pint (or two).
Hi Paul that sounds much more relaxed to me Great job that will last for years...
Almost as if you don’t want to give it back!
You did a great job on the BSA. This just goes to show that British bikes are great bikes.
Thank you!

Thanks! No, the Cortina is not mine.
Paul as a matter of interest, does any of your old BSA workshop manuals have anything about gearing recommendations?
Not that I am aware of, although they often state the 'standard' numers of teeth.
