The way I see it is that its a good supplemental game to Destiny proper when it has dry spells of content... like with the current episode model. There are some cool ideas that this game does over Destiny proper: 1. Actual MC dialog 2. All the interactions are voiced (granted some are still placeholders) 3. An actual social space that feels like a social space rather than a vendor hub. 4. The solo roguelike game mode that actually lets us do something with the Nine for once. 5. The freedom to not adhere to the slow pacing of the D2 story by letting characters have their stories shown rather than experience them secondhand. The cons (so far) As a person who is well familiar with gacha games, the model for the games monetization seems fair BUT if they end up putting in more endgame content for the game, they need to make characters more accessible by events or direct acquistion (maybe like one or two on the battlepass, like how OW2 did it). One of the things other gacha games do is hand out free copies of gacha only units every so often so you can have variety and not be held back by a lacktherof. There is a wall, it is not paywalled so it isn't P2W in that regard. It physically makes you wait for the next daily reset (which is still better than waiting a week in D2). The stamina system is effectively the same as D2's weekly resets for pinnacles but you get to pick which activities become pinnacle. Don't like PvP? Then spend your pinnacles on PvE. While this good for player flexibility, it also disincentivizes players to go populate activities by not giving them an increased reward for a playlist (which is how D2 does it once per week). One good thing it has over other gachas is it's pulling system. For most gacha's once you get an item from the gacha, it doesn't display what your potential future rolls are in real time. Rising s system shows you a grid of what you are still able to get in real time per the typical 10x pull potential. You see two legendary items, gun skin, XP/materials. All of the items are visibly knocked meaning you will get something from the two legendary pulls from each set of 10x pulls. I don't know how the "guarantee" works for *limited* units in the game because they haven't put them in yet. I also want to know how frequently they intend on making these cycle through.
Did not expect it to be a Gatcha game but I guess it makes sense. If anybody is confused about the currencies or how Gatcha games work in DRising then maybe check out a few explanations about Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves or maybe even other Gatcha shooters. It will help you understand what to expect from this game.
It just got released for ALPHA TESTING, if this game get launched it will probably have hundreds of things changes, graphics, story, gun-play, interactions and more. I love that you are able to play some Destiny on a whim.
Characters having certain weapon types they have to use is my main issue so far, the gacha at least on release shouldn't be too PTW. but power creep from new character releases will probably change that during the game's life. The gameplay loop for gacha currency should at least be fairly fun
So, I'm curious. We're called Wolf and we have a full set of Iron Wolf outfit. So, is Wolf a previously killed Iron Lord or some vassal or junior officer to some Risen lord?
It's not great but it's not bad either. I've played it for about 2 hours now. My main interest is the story which has been a basic introduction so far. My main complaint so far is the controls on my mobile phone stink.
I have been playing the Alpha and have been putting benchmark tests on my channel. The game feels like Destiny 1 in all the best ways and the story is very fleshed out. Even the Side missions feel like they have alot of life in them. I am very impressed soo far. The Guardians feel powerful and super unique.
Its a Gacha at its core. It doesn't matter how good the gameplay is when its monetized even more aggressively that the mainline title. I'd like to play it, but for the sake of my bank account and mental stability, I just can't and can't recommend it to others either.
Certain characters only being able to use certain weapon types is kinda cringe, epsecially when characters are locked by gacha rolls. But i'm hopeful that the gameplay loop will be enjoyable enough that farming currency for gacha rolls isn't an overbareable grind
I agree with all you've stated and would add the ability for those using a controller to add optional layouts. Get rid of pinnacle energy to obtain rewards at the end of an activity. Advancing in the storyline is gated behind rewards, I'm hoping that changes plus simplify the material currency. I'm still getting used to all the components of the game. I did join a wolf pack but not sure how to build up the den. Thanks for the vid!!!
The only things I don’t like are that 1. I can’t pick to be a titan. Wolf is the only character than can use all the weapons and he’s a hunter. I don’t like being a hunter. 2. Kabr isn’t an Exo. 3. Driving the sparrow sucks. Other than those things I’m having a blast
I have experience playing mobile games such as Nikke and HoYoverse games, so the daily grind is not unfamiliar to me. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing the alpha version and will continue to do so until the alpha ends.
I got access. It’s pretty decent. The only thing I don’t like is the progression lock out. Out side that it feels like a destiny game honestly a couple of bugs. Mainly like when you open chest, you don’t see what you get or frame rate drops and the walkie sparrow controls but outside of that it’s pretty fun 6.5/10
My guess is that probably Sony or Bungie wanted to create a mobile gatcha version of Destiny because the Asian market is obsessed with that kind of games for whatever reason so Destiny can have more presence over there. I'll may give the game a chance if some rewards from the mobile game can be transferred to the main console/pc game.
they should add a crouch button and they should also change the weapon style of each character, meaning that each character has their own weapon that they carry, and this is an unsatisfactory idea for me
I feel sad that Bungie would rather let another company make a gotcha game from their only earning game. If they needed money they could have just made Destiny 3 that could have been a lore accurate dark age prequel or a future 50 years after Destiny 2 lore.
This is WAY better than everyone thought. It looks kinda like D1, but on higher FPS and you can play everywhere. Unfortunately, I can't play it right now, because it's not available in Europe. Will give it a try though
playing from eu , my ping usually less than 200 but the latency ain't that little especially doing pvp sometimes advantageous and smtms disadvantageous
I get the issues with the gacha system, but from what I’m seeing in other youtube vids that demonstrate the gacha thing all I’m seeing is just skins, emotes, materials, characters, etc. Aka the only positive I see with this gacha system is the fact that it’s not fully a important system required to progress through story, meaning that I can just simply play as characters and grind missions for materials/weapons then move on, aka I have no reason to spend money on this game like I do with the mobile games I play anyways Especially in other games too like D2 where I only choose to spend money on it for the story stuff and use whatever silver leftover for cool stuff, but as we know of it’s current state it ain’t touching a single dime in my wallet, only my bright dust in my non-existent home in the tower 👍
Ooof different timeline has me worried. Interconnected story is superior always. Obviously D2 could deal with it's other timelines more sometime, but if it amounts to nothing but a cameo and no confirmed canon history of anything... Yikes.

What really makes me question it is how big is this game going to be because this might be to big of a game to run on normal mobile devices so most of the market for it has dropped and on top of that they are taking a risk to even see if people like it in the first place so if they can keep it under 600mb of space I'd say it's worth playing but if it's a gb worth of space on a mobile device I highly doubt many people will play it or even get the chance to play it
