If anyone wants to change the air filter on the lta50 Ebay go ped air filter intake and they have a 44mm machined aluminum adapter you can modify very easily. They are around 10 to 15 bucks
For those curious, if you buy an aftermarket air filter mount (eBay or Amazon very inexpensive) / adapter stack for many GoPed scooters or similar small scooters you only need to slightly modify the holes to fit the Suzuki Mikuni VM12 carburetor mount. Takes only minutes to do. Then you can install a much better pod style filter like Uni or K&N 44mm type. Done. I have a video on my channel how I did it to my own 2005 Suzuki LTA50 mini quad.
So you said the jet that came with the kit didn’t work right so you went bigger correct? If so what jet did you get to replace the jet that wasn’t big enough?
Actually the main jet it came with ended up being fine. I removed the restriction screw in front of the main jet and then it worked fine. The pilot stayed stock
Also this is 2 cycle, very stupid question but you don’t pre mix the oil and gas on this fourwheeler because it has the oil tank that it auto mixes with right?
@@quadjunkie007 that makes sense. So if I leave the oil tank and pump on there, I just put normal gas in it correct? I just bought this 2004 lta50 last week and I’m putting new carb on it so haven’t fully looked into it.
No the pull cord will just kill the Ignition spark. If your pool cord is spinning freely something has come apart and not assembly where it attaches into the firewheel you've missed something putting it back together
@@quadjunkie007 I was in a hurry and trying it out before I left, forgot to put break on lol after I remembered I didn’t do that, it worked fine. But after it ran a few minutes (4-5minutes) maybe after it heated up it kept stalling. Any idea as to why? My guess is gotta adjust carb. Got late and stopped messing with it.
Jets themselves shouldn't cost 200 bucks. You can buy jets for like 5 bucks each from your dealer it's a stock OEM carb. Buy the jets from the dealership or parts store. I wouldn't pay 200 for jets. Now if you are buying the kit including the air filter and jets and air filter adapter different story. I was told the wouldn't sell just the jet kit though you had to buy the entire exhaust pipe kit including the carburetor kit all at once.
My air filter came in a kit when I purchased the full mod kit for the quad. I don't have the info readily available at the moment. I'll see what I can do on finding it again.
Anyone have any alternatives to doing the air filter adapter thing? Something a wee less expensive than the CT Racing setup? I have been searching the internet for hours and I'm not finding anything. SHEEEEESHHHHH I just want to do a better air filter than the crappy stock one.
Nope I didn't find anything either so I broke down and spent the dough. You can buy the K&N air filter separately but you won't have the adapter to mount it.
@@quadjunkie007 What about a different type of carburetor? Surely there is SOMETHING else that can fit that intake manifold and has some sort of air filter mount like many other bikes do.
@@HorsepowerHouse If you have a Machine lath You could turn one out of a piece of aluminum. The problem is there's not much demand for this small of a quad so most of the big manufacturers don't manufacture anything and the one that does has no competition. I removed the oil mixing tank and pump. I mix my own because I am making it for 3 different 2 strokes. Now I make 32:1 for the 250r lt80 and the 50.

Is there a kill switch? Once I changed the carb the pull cord spins freely now, it worked fine before??
Kill pull cord on the back of the quad should have a cord attached unless someone bypassed it
@@quadjunkie007 thank you, that will cause the pull cord to spin freely?

We made a chamber up for my alt50 out of a Ktm 50 pipe an put another filter on and it goes way better
Need a video of this or pictures, want to try it
Do you recall what jets you have in it ? The kit is affordable but the want 200 for the jets
Main jet 80
Needle clip 3 down from the top
I don't remember the pilot jet I will have to check a d see if I can find the record on It
thank you much appreciated.. I’m going to purchase the kit now.

Actually jets are around 100 after looking more into it. Going to purchase the pipe and kn filter +adaptor and get a jet kit seperate on amazon.
I thought you were going to add a link for the K&N air filter? Am I just not seeing it?

Purchased oem from the dealer
Yes
The transmission oil how change
There's a drain plug bolt in the bottom of one side of the cases. Remove that bolt drain oil and re fill from the top hole.😁
What type of oil did u use?

CT racing Google it I pulled it right up. LT-A50 50 it's a package deal you have to buy the set up. They won't sell just the pipe.
