- The BEST COOKIES, PART 2! We tried 14 MORE of the best cookies in New York to try to find something more delicious than Levain. And we did! Levain is definitely still in the top 3, but it's no longer the best cookie in New York. Is it Janie's Life-Changing Cookies? Spot Dessert Bar? Jacques Torres? Chip City? What qualifies us to decide what the best cookie is in New York? We love cookies and we've eaten at all the top bakeries and cookie shops in the City. That's pretty much it.

Levain's cookies are still fantastic, and at this point they're so iconic that you have to stop at Levain's if you're in New York. Beside the oatmeal raisin, we highly recommend the dark chocolate peanut butter chip.
But the pie crust cookie at Janie's and the half-baked chocolate chip cookie, also at Janie's, are two of the best cookies we have ever eaten. And that oreo chocolate chip cookie at Spot dessert bar was phenomenal. So go to Levain, because you have to. But go to Spot and Janie's because you'll regret it if you don't.

What's your favorite cookie in New York?
Happy Christmas Eve you guys, that's what it is here! But the cookies, oh my gosh !I love it when you do this. And I should have been paying attention to where you were getting the chocolate chip cookies but I definitely know that one that was not chocolate chip was Janie's and I love the fact that she had a story behind her sweet shop we will call it. But it's the blueberry ...kind of reminds me of like cobbler cookie. There's no way I could pick a favorite chocolate chip cookie without actually tasting it but I like The Buttery chocolate filled moist almost cake like would have definitely been my favorite. Feel free to send me your favorite lol, just kidding. It was good to see you guys. You look great! And Isa you are not aging one bit. And Kai? Again still growing I bet he's a lot of fun. Kids are fun especially when they get a certain age. You told me when baby number two was coming but I guess I already forgot. But as always I love you guys and I love your videos .I hope you have a fantastic Christmas. I was not paying attention to when you filmed this but where I live we just had minus 27° wind chills, and crazy snow. And I guess the whole U.S. is dealing with it. But you would know because you live in New York. And I think you had your first snowfall what a week ago? It's just been such a dreadfully long hot summer I kind of felt like this was coming. Levain Bakery's Two Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies that come with no nuts. I like nuts but when i want a chocolate chip cookie i don't want any nuts in there. They are so fking good!!!!

I tried Janie's today because of this video. The pie crust cookies were AMAZING! But I think Levain's chocolate chip is better. I like a goey cookie and I didn't really get that from Janie's.
But mad respect to her (whoever she is) for turning her life around. Def worth supporting her business.
Which chocolate chip at Levain is your favorite? The original one with walnuts? Or the new Two Chip one with semi-sweet and dark chocolate?

The problem when eating out is consistency, some days chip's cookies are gooey and other days dryer, some days levains cookies are gooey and some days dryer. It really depends on the daily circumstances and especially in the moment, it depends on the person, dough temperature, temperature in the room, oven temperature, etc. even humidity. So much goes into baking... and cooking too. So you probably went on a bad day unfortunately. Levain sometimes is really good, and sometimes I dislike it. Way too much chocolate anyway... the one with walnuts is alright. Chip, I don't like the chocolate chip at all when it's warm, just not very good, but at room temperature the next day its alright. Jacques torres, i did not like, feel like the cookie lacks flavor but the chocolate is excellent. Gooey on the inside, horrible, tastes like crysco dough. Funny face is much better now than it was 1 year ago, pretty good buttery gooey inside dough with crispy outside but lacks some sweet in the dough, their smores is insanely good yep. Seven grammes to me is actually very good, but i think too much chocolate now, need to re try. I need to try Janie's 😍 it looks amazing! I had a cookie company online, but it is on pause right now, and I am a NY'er who tries cookies all the time lol. I definitely think we have the best cookies ever, but I have to try Janie's. Would love to send you some if you want cookies from a stranger haha (I won't be offended if you don't lol). Awesome video guys! Very fun and love your energy and personalities. Be well 🙏

I ordered a dozen of Levain Bakery's Two Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies that come without nuts hence the extra two chips in the name. They were the most delicious cookies i have ever eaten in my life. I recorded a mail unboxing taste test Review and they were so fking good!!! Crispy on the outside and doughy and warm melting chocolate chips in the inside. I recorded a few videos of getting these in the mail and Taste Testing them and other videos of the two chip chocolate chip cookies zoomed in 4k breaking the warm cookie down the middle for a "food porn" video. I'll be uploading them soon i want them up around Xmas.

Just discovered your channel.. My question is what place you guys visited that wasn't good. Me and my wife are beginningers travelers now that our kids are grown
I assume you're talking about cities and not cookies (specific to this video), right? I think every place has its charm and reasons to go there. We've never had a place where we really didn't like it and never want to go back. There are a few we visited on our USA roadtrip that were fine, but not really worth _traveling specifically to,_ like Oklahoma City or Madison, WI. But honestly, all the big, famous cities with lots of tourist attractions are famous for a reason, and we've loved them all.
Curious…how many days was this split up between? I’m hoping at least three or four or you guys woulda have a SERIOUS sugar hangover!
I'd have to count our outfit changes. 😂 It's either 4 or 5 days over a two-week period.

Funny enough, Levain started as an alternative to power bars. They wanted to make something delicious that could power you through long runs. So, I think the answer is 26.2 miles. :)
Nay, best cookie is at Bourke Street bakery. Get their Sour Cherry Chocolate.

They don't heat them for you, but usually they're still warm since they go through the batches pretty fast.

I bought janies chocolate chip cookies and had it shipped....warmed it up....9 out of 10....gr8 cookie but don't think it's better than levain...2 different syles....traditional vs scone like
Oh wow, 9 out of 10 is pretty amazing for shipped and baked. A friend just sent me Levain and we baked them at home and they were nowhere near as good as when they're fresh from the store. Have you shipped Levain?

We're ok with our kids being on film a little bit (because they love to see themselves in the videos), but we keep it to a minimum. Thanks for calling that out just in case!
Levain ain't that good to me. The actual dough lacked flavor
Definitely true, the thicker the cookie, the more flour it has compared to wet ingredients like butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla... which takes away flavor. Then most places with thick cookies, just underbake it so it gets more taste than if it was dry, but still lacking all those flavors. If they did this test with all cookies without chocolate in it, then it would really say something about the actual doughs.
That would be an interesting battle, and I'd have to agree. Based just on the dough, Levain likely wouldn't be in the top 10. Janie's would still be up there, probably still number 1 for me.
I don't think Insomnia make good cookies. It's only good if you have the munchies.

When you come back in Italy?
Italy is always on our mind. We've got all our travel planned for 2023, but maybe next year? We have a new baby that has not yet been to Italy, and our now 5-year old hasn't been there since he was 1, so it's definitely time to go back.
