That Justin Fashanu Goal - plus the Match of the Day Highlights

The match highlights of the Norwich City vs Liverpool game on 9th February 1980.
Most will have seen the goal many times but here are the highlights from Match of the Day - long before the days live league football was shown on the TV.
Barry Davies' commentary is timeless. Today, the goal would have just been celebrated with a scream of 'FASHANUUUUUU!'. Today's commentators could learn a thing or two.
Couple of other things to note. At halftime, they show the new River End Stand which cost over one million pounds. I was working in the Commercial Department of the club at the time and we raised the money to build that stand from the proceeds of lottery ticket sales. Also, VAR may have had something to say about the Kenny Dalglish penalty claim. Can't believe that wasn't given.

forever the quintessential iconic goal of the season!for some unknown particular reason amongst hundreds of fantastic goals.the very second that I saw that goal on match of the day that night,it was forever more the goal of the season which I always always remember!Barry Davies?just capped it all off!
