    Poor little girl. Imagine getting off the bus, on your birthday, and being excited and no one is even there, happy to see you. Waiting for a meal, a cake, a present, something, but probably not even being acknowledged. This is beyond heartbreaking.

      They are more than partly to blame, this evil creature allowed adult males (I can't call those demons men) to SA her little girl while she was off high on meth. It's unimaginable that any parent could do that to a child. I've heard of this deranged cruelty happening in atleast 3 true crime cases this year. The horrific things these birth parents do is so unbelievably terrible it's sickening & heart wrenching. Drugs are not an excuse for this kind of depravity, they are just inherently evil to their core..

      I disagree with Dr Grande saying the police judged them based on their drug use. They judged them based on their low morality and absence of responsibility of that poor little girl.

      Meth. End of story. It's canned adrenaline, and the wrose the addiction the less people care about themselves, or anyone around them. Still, unlike some addicts, in its most abused form, they are driven to interact with their hallucinations in often violent ways. Unless you have tried meth, or been addictive to it, it may be hard to fathom, but it can turn anyone into a demon. It also greatly increases the desire for sexual gratification that can never be satisfied. Sex goes on, and on, and on, and on. Knowing that they were long-term meth addicts, none of this suprised me. It appalled me, but it made sense. Like most addicts, they only care about the drug. The drug gives them more mentally than anyone, or anything else can, and as humans when our endorphin needs are met, it's easy to see everything else as unimportant, in comparison.

      I'm from Burque, too. I'm a bit dismayed at Dr. Grande's attempts to whitewash Michelle's reputation here. "She eventually began using drugs" AFTER inviting Fabian into her home? Not bloody likely! I'm the last person to stand up for APD, but I think THEY had a better handle on Michelle than Dr. Grande's assertion that she "had rights that should be protected" and "whose life had value." Michele had clearly been using her daughter in any and every way to ensure her own access to drugs. I sincerely hope that if Michelle ever gets out of prison, she's smuggled far away and given a different name. Too many people in town will not forget this horrific crime. It would be far better for everyone if she were to just die before she's released.

      Yes, that is the remarkable part - Victoria surely lived a life of neglect if not worse, yet those that have commented, that knew her, reported she was a sweet child. The pics of her give that impression. Perhaps it was resilience, but it is remarkable, none the less, that she seemed a bright and bubbly child despite her home life. Such a horrific, deliberate offence. I agree that when the victim is a child, the penalties ought to be more severe. Many offences in NSW, Aust, are stepped up a level when the victim is a child, the offence will be “aggravated ….” The aggravation being that the victim was a child and will have a heftier penalty. There are other circumstances that qualify as aggravation, eg, offence committed in company, or part of a criminal enterprise etc.

    I am wondering about the role of the school. This couldn't have been an isolated incident. There is almost always a ramping up of acts and there had to have left some kind of physical and/or mental sign on the child. School personnel are obligated to report suspicions of such abuse.

    • @GradyPhilpott
      @GradyPhilpott Рік тому +2

      I worked in child protection in Albuquerque for many years and you are correct about teachers being obligated to report suspected child abuse to the department. In fact, although the children's code lists numerous professions that have such an obligation, the whole text states that every citizen has that same obligation.
      At the end of every school year, teachers flood the hotline with reports of suspected child abuse in order to cover themselves in the event that some child in their care is determined to have suffered abuse during the school year. These referrals for sknned knees and bruises put an incredible burden on investigative resources, interrupt the lives of many families, and leaving a permanent record on file for injuries that occur normally in the course of normal childhood activities.
      You're "speculating about what might have happened in a case like this," without any evidence, and this is why teachers flood the system with referrals every year like clockwork.

Accordingly, I really don’t care if three horrible people end up in prison. I think Michelle's claims to having strangers abuse Victoria may coincide with Jessica's story. It's entirely likely that Jessica agreed to let another man (even one of mysterious nature) abuse Victoria, and that man decided to strangle Victoria either with or without Jessica present for it. She of course would be guilty for allowing this man to do this crime, thus giving her a stronger motive to try and dispose of the evidence in the way that she did. What was she gonna do after Victoria was dead? Stopping him is very unlikely, and running just implicates her even further.

    The fact that she turned her kids home into a flop house for junkies makes her as guilty as the mystery dude. Also, who goes out 4 times in a night (except stressed out junkies looking for a hit) and doesn't even check on their own kid left with a violent criminal.

    Thank you so much for your analysis in this case. You manage to find a way to make me think in a different way about these cases and I really do appreciate that. We consume so much, but so little at the same time that we base our opinions on headlines and just a fraction of the story. Victoria's death is a horrific and a tragedy and it seems we will never really know what happened in that apartment creating yet another tragedy in this case. RIP Victoria.

    In so many comments on these videos we see how crimes effect many more people than just the unfortunate ones actually involved! Many neighbors and townspeople are also upset and worried! No one feels safe! Crime is really a terrible thing!
