as a learner myself i have some tips for you that i know of,
    1. try your best not to casualy ride in the 7-10k rpm it will shorten your bikes life,
    2. when shifting gears try to keep it as quick as possible to keep the revs nice and high so it dosnt feel gluggy at all
    3. once you learn how to shift propperly learn something called rev matching, it makes all your down shifts feel smooth and helps engine breaking greatly
    4. when at slow speeds in the parking lot practice stability i see your a slight bit scared and the bike tends to wobble try to loosen up and let the bike glide it will help stop the shaking of the handle bars
    5. when accelerating change gears around the 6-10k rpm mark or the bike will glug and stall when accelerating
    7. when it comes to riding on the road dont worry about what other drivers think or do at the end of the day your a learner and thats appart of having a license so if they honk at you bash there head in or just call the cops for inpropper horn use fuck road drivers anyways LOL
    8. dont get too cocky with speed it will get you hurt

good tips, i agree with all of these. im looking to get my A2 license as im in the UK so meaning i'll have the license to ride up to 600cc, but im looking to get r3 as a 2nd bike. i used to ride an MT-125 shit was so beautiful.

you were very smart to start on a 300. Keep it for an everyday commuter especially if you live in a urban area. Not many places to ride a super sport in a city. But know this as soon as you are used to it you are def going to want to upgrade a lot sooner than you think. Goodluck bro and dont out grow it too quick, there is a lot to learn.

i just started a few months ago on an mt-07 and i gotta say, its a wonderful starting bike, it teaches you throttle control right from the first time you get on it, very responsive, can wheelie but you have to be trying to. i taught myself how to ride on it and im already disappointed in the top speed lol. but super fun to ride around town and curvy roads, very quick to get up and go.

I bought the R3 like 2 days ago. Got my gear yesterday and did the first real ride on it today. Amazing stuff. All the fear for riding on the road first time, all the stress and the rush of adrenaline felt so good. I am still smiling and in high spirits. Have to get used to rev matching and going in the corners and quickturns, cuz I was going in the very wide turn angle.

I have a '17 R3 in pearl white with florescent orange wheels. Bikes like this are great to start on.
Also, If she only has 600 miles on it, be gentle. She's still in a break-in period. I believe until about 1k miles. Might even be ready for a oil change- a break in change to remove metal shavings from the factory. So don't rev her out too crazy.
R3 is a great bike to learn and refine skills.
She's beautiful. Congrats and good luck, boss.

Congrats on the new bike! R3 is an awesome bike.
Don't sweat the stalling. We've all been there, lol. If you don't mind a tip to help with the stalling:
Get your RPM's up before letting the clutch out into the friction zone and then all the way out. This also helps with slow speed maneuvers as you can let the clutch in and out through the friction zone while keeping your RPM's constant. You don't have to worry about rolling the throttle until you get rolling with the clutch all the way out. You just hold the RPM's and listen to the sound of the engine. It'll sound high but as you let the clutch out, it will start to drop. Just keep holding those RPM's. As you try it out, you may need more or less RPM's initially depending on your bike but I believe the R3 was around 4-5K when I rode it.
Light turns green, roll the throttle until RPM's hit 4-5K (adjust to what you feel is comfortable) and slowly let the clutch out and hold it in the friction zone until you're rolling. Pull it back in if you're going too fast.

Couple tricks, when your taking off slowly hit ur gas so you don’t stall, and I would upgrade the clutch and brake levers aftermarket ones tend to move the friction zone so I makes it more efficient and comfortable.

Fantastic video, reminds me of myself when i started. Pro tip: Don't let go of the clutch until youre out of an intersection / began moving pretty steady, only then let it all the way out, dropping your clutch too fast isnt something you want to do. Shifting smoothly will come with time, no way around it.

Nice vid! Not sure if you got a chance to play with the clutch cable yet. You will need some free play with it, and it's really simple. Just unscrew the larger nut then play with the dial behind the nut while using the clutch. I wouldn't recommend getting a new set of levers unless you are getting a high quality one. The cheap Amazon replacements just won't cut it.

Best decision is to start on a used small bike. It’s already pre-dropped, so when you forget to put the kickstand down and drop it, you won’t cry. No you are not going to keep that bike forever. You’ll get better. The most important thing is proper braking and lane positioning.

Practice first in parking lots. Also slow maneuvering is very important to learn. I wouldn't mod it except maybe a bright color wrap so cars can see you better. Otherwise just ride the heck of it. And don't be embarrassed! We all make mistakes. Plus with a helmet nobody is going to recognize you. Just chill and be safe.

Also if riding a bike is anything like driving a manual car, the reason you're stalling is you're not giving enough power. You can move off with clutch only but you have to stay in the bite point longer before you completely disengage the clutch or else it will stall.

I started on a 600 in 2005 bought my gsxr 2008 600 still have it first owner. Took off riding for 4 years now I’m in the market for a second bike bmws1000rr or r1 for new riders I would start out on a 600 you will regret getting a smaller bike down the road trying to resell it.

Hey im also a new rider! But if you having problems stalling too much you should watch a video on adjusting the clutch so the friction zone is more comfortable for you!! Idk if you have tried yet! It helped me

Yes and no, you can play with it slightly but too much can cause clutch drag or clutch slip.

    Definitely wrap it
    I have the same bike
My gear and helmet is black and red and at night it is hard for drivers to see me
Also change the exhaust you need people to hear you coming especially in nyc it also enhances the performance of the bike
    Congrats and ride safe

Bro when you stopped in the middle of the intersection I was screaming internally. The amount of people I've seen get wrecked because they pulled out into the intersection before turning is astronomical both bikes and cars.

Another tip, don’t ride in the middle of the road that’s a danger zone from the liquids from cars ride on either left or right side of the lane. But good job time for a r6

you're spare key may not work because its not chipped the bike might not recognize the key at all. I would recommend going to maybe a Canadian tire or a another shop that does chipped keys as dealership charge wayyyyyy too much.Anyway great vid ride safe!!

Add a lot of throttle as you start out on a manual and go less and less each time once you get more used to it. Thats my no stall method haha

I like the little bike except I can't lay into a bike like this ; I'd need like an MT-03 to sit up more but that's just an age thing. No
need to worry about stalling b/c when you stop worrying about what you'll say on the vlog you'll stop stalling out? Thinking
too much is probably why it was happening but that'll go away as you get more experience. I'm still saving in hopes of a
bike soon...... Holding my breath here. peace & ride safe

Keep it up man, just learn how to shift gear! And you should practice getting familaf with your clutch friction zone, so what j would do is to just stay on 1st gear and find your friction zone do it for 10 mins. Close the clutch lever open it till you hit the Friction and close it and open it again do it until u get bored

Hi man, not sure where you live, but
here in portugal we have to get lessons to drive a motocicle and pass a driving test. Even if you already have a license for a car.
We have like 8h of driving before going on an exame (minimum), it took me 4 lessons (3h) to start to get the hang of it. Let me tell you, the first 2 where.. awful.. almost quit then and there xD But after that it was kinda smooth.. Been riding for a year and it keeps getting better. Hope you have fun a please be safe and drive defensively!

Definitely practice shifting cuz it will protect your bike in the long run also drive safe fam and wait until you get more comfortable with youre bike and driving style, Meaning dont do wheelies , also stalling is normal as a beginner biker so embrace it and learn from it, see you soon and ride safe lil bro
