Me, I was born in 1960. And I love this music. It's hard to say what was better the 60s music or the 70s music really. So very many amazing groups from the 60s like the Stones ,The Moody Blues, the Bee Gees The Beatles just never-ending massive talent really. And I love the 70s with groups like Aerosmith, Kiss, Boston, Kansas, all those really good Motown groups. Just so much fantastic music. Music is the best what would we do without it ?

I’m 68 & this is the best music. Love the Grass Roots, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. Good groups, great music back then. Not sure what the stuff is they play today. I’ve been lost since the early 80’s. Never listen to a radio anymore. I sure miss the great bands.
The great thing about 8 tracks in the car was they’d just repeat forever. This was one of those albums, you stuck it in the deck and let it play. So many great songs on it.
This was my favorite song by the Grass Roots. I wasn't even a teenager yet but bought this eight track. I would come home from school and just play beautiful music like this until dinner time. What great memories this song gives me. Long live the Grass Roots ❤❤❤
Miss Marla Christensen. I was always with the Bikers and the Hot Girls. Nostalgic that is what it is. Was Born and Raised in Reading , PA. Monopoly mentions our Railroad. I am 65 years old as well, believe me the sixties and the seventies were the best music era ever to release the best lyrics and harmonious melody produced in the modern epoch of pop rock. I really miss that era.
The Grass Roots had the best vocals and harmonies of anyone and nobody sounded like Rob Grill. I was 14 and singing in a band in 1971 and that's what I thought every time I heard these guys on the radio, which was a lot. Awesome video right here... 👍
At the time and several years later, everyone I knew loved their songs. And those were the days when Queen, Eagles, Michael Jackson and all the other great artists ruled the radio waves. In fact, our yearbook used the first several lines from The Times Of Your Life when you first opened the book.
Makes me feel homesick for that time in my life, music does this,I was 12 years old when I first heard this,I'am stuck in the 70s and I love it,It certainly was the best time for love songs.Iam 60 years old now and we are in the last days, make sure your souls are saved,'' ACCEPT JESUS NOW !!
I’m 71 and I still look back at the 60s And 70s was I was very lucky to go off in this. Have a good music wonderful and fast calls if I could only go back in time
I saw a concert in the park in Portland, Oregon, in 1999, with The Grass Roots with Rob along with Mickey Dolenz, and Peter Noonan headlining. OMG, Rob blew everyone away and I didn’t want them to leave the stage. Hit after hit played and sung to perfection!
One of my earliest memories as a kid. Rob "Bob" Grill was a friend of my dad's and they use to fish together when Bob was a starving musician living in his car. We moved from California to Oregon and the Grass Roots played at the Coliseum. A limo pulled up to our little house and Bob and the band came over for dinner with the opening act, Three Dog Night!!!
Great Story ! Rob Grill did not forget where he came from and remembered his friends! Very sad that this is NOT the norm in the entertainment and music business today. Arrogance and conceit is more apparently applied today. But...you get what you give...it may take awhile but it always comes to pass ! Peace..
Not sure why but I was in a good mood and started humming this song. Looked up Sooner or Later and found this video. Great music. The early 70s was the golden age of rock.
Also 73, went to WOODSTOCK, COLLEGE, THEN DRAFTED... CRAZY THEN, BUT WOULDNT CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD.... STILL LISTEN TO ALL THE SONGS.. LOVE LIFE!!! HOPE U DO TOO!!!
After 40 years this song is still kicking ass... I grew up with this music and am so thankful to have had this as part of my culture.. A about 10 years ago the Grassroots played at the Fryeburg Fair (Maine) and I was fortunate enough to have been there.
I agree without this music I don't know if I'd be the person I am today brings me so much joy I'm glad that lots of these great hits were captured on tape LOL
At the time most groups were put in categories : bubblegum . Acid , the word Pop wasn't really used then but I would say Pop group now , they were no where near Hard rock , nor were they Bubble Gum. They put out some good hits back then . I enjoyed their music then and now , they are in my playlist as so many from the 60's and 70's my list is like 200 + and don't think it goes higher on U tube. Thanks for posting , many others enjoy theses songs as much as I do , thanks
Summer of 1971. I was eleven and bought this 45 with babysitting money. Ah, the halcyon days of childhood. I'm so glad I was a kid during the 60s and 70s. It takes the sting out of being 55. I love the brass. My grandson plays trumpet. :)
Right there with ya! I'm eleven again with my tiny transistor radio and wearing my polyester double knit jumpsuit. (it was orange and my Mom made it). Good times.
EOW58, love the song now. I was already into Alice Cooper and hard rock by 71. FM was coming on strong and playing stuff the AM did not. In southern cal, we were listening to KHJ (an AM station that played all the current, mainstream stuff) for driving and FM (KMET, little bit of heaven 94.7 KMET, a deedle dee). The FM stations played whole albums like Dark Side of the Moon. Wow. I love my 60s pop; but, had strayed into new areas. Still, great song.
EmpressOfWyoming58 Im 63 yesterday. I still love music from the late 60s through the 70s. Wish we could go back and STAY. It was great being a young teenager in the late 60s thru the mid 70s.

The best thing about these old videos is for me,it's the first time I have ever seen the musicians that made all these great songs, because there was no MTV,or music videos back then.

I tip my hat to those who are no longer with us here that were then. Wish you still were. Bless You All
Great car. My 1st car was a 1967 Mustang 289 Cubic Inch, 4 speed. Wish I had it back. Totaled it out while I was in the United States Marine Corps at Camp LeJeune NC.
Got to see them twice! Almost 3 decades apart! 1971 At Allegany College in Cumberland, Maryland, Years later I saw them in the late 1990's or early 2000's in Pittsburgh, playing for the radio station WWWS's annual, oldies concert ! I still listen to this after all these years. Midnight confessions was my wife, my soul. She was going with another guy and they broke up and I got her. We were married 50 years most of years ago. Thank you for the music
I love this song. Last song for the night. I remember I was in H.S. so I'm guessing it came out in the early 70's. I needed more songs to add to my others. ;) Songs I can play over and over.
First 8 track tape I ever bought was “ The Grass Roots Greatest hits. I was a Sophomore in High School the year was 1972 and the cost was I believe an outrageous price of $3.99. The best money I ever spent ! I wore that 8 track out!
Hey ClayTamm, thanks for the nice compliment. Yes, we boomers enjoyed great songs, but youtube also shares these great moments for all to see and hear. Thank goodness. Back when I was a teen, we had to hope and wait for the D-jay to play or replay, over the airwaves, our fav-tunes. Sometimes waiting for days or weeks to hear it again. Today, tune delivery, is sooooo much greater. Just instantly. But ,no regrets. Just that technology was lacking then. 1953 was a good year for me. I was born at a good time. GPM-53.
To anyone out there who possesses scientific aptitude and know-how, PLEASE build me a time machine, so I can go back to 1971!!! The music was so much better when compared to today's so-called musical artists (a.k.a. "wannabes")!!! R.I.P., Rob Grill & Rick Coonce. :'(
I hear you brother. My dad drove them on tour on a greyhound bus on one of their destinations. Got a picture & autograph of the band of the time. Treasured.
I saw the Grass Roots at a little venue in northern Minnesota. Playing a little bar in the woods with a big log amphitheater. Met a girl there and danced the night away. I remember this song so well from that night. What a memory of a great night and great music. Still go back to that time everytime I hear this song.

Maybe when we go to heaven, we can go back. 🙏🛵🏁
Totally agree. And we got along just fine without computers or cell phones.
I will never get tired of listening to the Grass Roots music . Forty years of doing so, and still look forward to their music!
Ana Mamone , just 43 years?
They are one of the most underrated groups of all time they have some really great stuff
❤
And, they're still playing, last I heard. I watched them several times at Disney World when I worked there about 8 years ago.
The great thing about 8 tracks in the car was they’d just repeat forever. This was one of those albums, you stuck it in the deck and let it play. So many great songs on it.
Yes very little fillers just hits
Yes and they had those annoying clicks and voids when switching songs and "sides" and wore out and broke. But they were good times!
Summer of '71. Folks, this is PROOF that life is too short.
Back in the day, we would go driving in our old car and put this 8 track tape in and blast it! Back then stereo was really important!!❤️
Almost 71 and still love this music.
Sure goes fast! 👵💃
Im 67, and still listening to all the 70s music, even jimmy Hendrix type of music

I still listen to this after all these years. Midnight confessions was my wife, my soul. She was going with another guy and they broke up and I got her. We were married 50 years most of years ago. Thank you for the music
One of the best groups in the 70's....I was lucky enough to see them in person.. Great memories...
this song brings me up every time I hear it........
They pioneered the use of wind and string instruments in dance/rock music back in the day. I can't stop tapping my toes to the beat!
I love this song. Last song for the night. I remember I was in H.S. so I'm guessing it came out in the early 70's. I needed more songs to add to my others. ;) Songs I can play over and over.
Hello Ms
Oh my Grassroots. Wonderful band. I.love them forever
One of the most superbly musical GROUPS & Great SINGING...EVER!!!
One of my favorite old time songs 😎😎😎❤real music 👍🤠💪🎵🎶🎶📻
How lucky were we to have been born in the time the best music ever made was new and fresh
Damn, talk about a time machine to the ‘70’s! Just the sound transported me. Forget the manner of dress.
If you're 60-something, you're one of the luckiest people on earth! think about it.
Absolutely.
Even if you're 70!
I do
I have always really appreciated growing up in So. Ca in the 60's but you could not pay me to live there now
I AM!!!
I consider myself lucky, to have heard when the music was new; but never tiring.
Amen Moe McGovern. Amen
@@mikeywid4954. Thanks Mike.
Oooof am getting…palpitations…+ Rob Grill.
MeOwWOW! 😅
The horn orchestration truly elevates this rocking song.
First 8 track tape I ever bought was “ The Grass Roots Greatest hits. I was a Sophomore in High School the year was 1972 and the cost was I believe an outrageous price of $3.99. The best money I ever spent ! I wore that 8 track out!
Yeah...I couldn't wait to spend my hard earned babysitting money to buy the best album...and still get some change too 😀
Hey ClayTamm, thanks for the nice compliment.
LOL in 1971 I was madly in love with my history teacher Mr. Warren....I'm 62 now and still occasionally dream of him
David Hugaert I’d go too
I hear you brother. My dad drove them on tour on a greyhound bus on one of their destinations. Got a picture & autograph of the band of the time. Treasured.
Things were TRULY better then, and not in a misty eyed nostagic way. Watch 1970's Grindhouse flicks to chart how locked down we are today.
I'd go back in a heartbeat. I was 14 at the time. I would love to go back and undo all my mistakes. Too bad we can't ctrl Z our mistakes.
My friends and I played this album over and over and swooned. Still swooning 50+ years on.
As a Boy in the 60s and 70s I walked around with my AM Panasonic Transistor Radio listening to 93KHJ With the Real Don Steel😊
Oh yes, good ol’ KHJ. Great reminder.
This song brings back so many memories, I love these old songs.
My teenage days! Loved growing up with this!!!
The 70s were awesome...
This is 1967.
Doesn't matter,I listened to them in the 70s and this song came out in 71...
You're right. Been a long time.
Lol...it has been a very long time for me..
Damn, that's STILL great music!
Very underrated band.
I saw the Grass Roots at a little venue in northern Minnesota. Playing a little bar in the woods with a big log amphitheater. Met a girl there and danced the night away. I remember this song so well from that night. What a memory of a great night and great music. Still go back to that time everytime I hear this song.
