This is smart. Gotta save up for one. Just one fake gold coin would make the cost of the machine worth it. Wished there were more competition to lower the price to mass market
I’m trying to decide how my local shops would react if I came in with a sigma. 😂 I guarantee the old guy would say, “Well I guess I have to raise the price now that we know it’s real.” I can hear him saying it! 🤣 Fun to watch all the same!
They welcomed it, and wanted to see it since they only have the older version. So everything I buy is double-verified! Funny comment: “now that I know it’s real.”
If they object to it that would be a big red flag! No reason for them not wanting the transaction to be absolutely fair unless they have something to hide. I am guessing he would be curious to see it work and would want to purchase one after seeing it work.
@Vertical Stacker great video, I need to get a Sigma Metalytics myself. That’s pretty cool that you take it in to the coin shop. That would have prevented me from buying a fake ASE earlier this month.
I knew one LCS guy with a very expensive XRF machine who charged people to examine metals. He went out of business. With the Sigma, it’s not so expensive that you feel like you need to charge - you just let your customers bring in their stuff.
@@VerticalStacker I wonder what kind of upgrade they could do? It does everything it's supposed to do. Maybe test other metals like platinum and rhodium?
@@VerticalStacker I like the Pro Mini. I think that is the one I would get. It's not as good as the Pro, but it's much cheaper. Do you know if the update they did on the pro is just a software upgrade or if they modified the machine itself?
my q is how do you verify the machine? is there a certified coin to double check the machine also why do you flip the coin doesn't it read thru the coin also how about 100 oz silver bars?
I was just thinking of getting one of these. I only buy from apmex so i'm sure my gold stack legit. But an extra piece of mind goes a long way haha. Is it possible to verify coins with capsules, or do they have to be removed?
Do you know if anyone tried a fake gold wrapped coin on these machines, i have a maple it shows good on a pro, but fails ring test, its very soft, i can even mark it with my finger nail, feels too soft to soft (may 24k wrapp?)
@@VerticalStacker I would love to get one of those but when I see the price tag I think of getting 1/2 oz of gold coin lol maybe if I was buying more metals in near future ill think of investing in one of these. BTW is there any other company which makes something similar to this tester?
@@AnonymousStacker I don't know. I'm sure there will be others, but the XRF technology I have seen is way more expensive. At least the ones that actually work.
@@VerticalStacker not sure how deeply the pro version penerate the silver/gold surface compared to the 2mm level for the normal sigma? u know the exact figure?
@@viperviperpiro The technical sensor specs indicate the large bridge penetrates 12.5 mm GOT (gold over tungsten) and the small bridge penetrates 3.5 mm GOT.
In this video I use my Sigma Metalytics Precious Metals Verifier Pro to check out several gold coins. What do you use to authenticate your metals?

Yeah that’s the only downside, the cost. Still for the volume that I do, very necessary!
Great video showing off the necessity for stackers and collectors to have a machine such as this one. Thanks for doing this Vert!
It has been a terrific tool in my stack - no question! Hope you have a great rest of the week!

😂😂 you’ll have to pay premium on premiums for double testing

Yes most likely, they still have their weaknesses but I’ll take my chances and verify every time!
I have the Sigma on my list of things to buy next year. Thanks for showing us yours! 👍🏻
You’re welcome. Worth every penny in my view.
Certainly a great tool for small dealers or anyone with a huge gold stack.

The Sigma Pro is such a great tool. I wish it was easier to get and cheaper but eventually I will get one. Happy holidays to you!
Well I’m sure you will, probably when it has been upgraded and mine is obsolete..😜
@@VerticalStacker I wonder what kind of upgrade they could do? It does everything it's supposed to do. Maybe test other metals like platinum and rhodium?

Impressive vert. You can do so much with the pro version. Measure diameter and bars.
Right! And it comes in handy with silver since there are sooo many shapes and sizes.
I am going to get myself one of those next year. I am visualising that already😉 maybe not this model but will get one! Great vid, Vertical!🔥
I think the other model is very good. Many LCSs use it.
Very much worth it, specially dealing in gold like you do.
No question! Good to see you Rick.
were gonna put my gold stack on that this summer :)
Bring it by! You’re always welcome and I’d love to help out!
Gold patrol...Vertical you like making those gloved individuals squirm huh lol
Merry Christmas!
Yep! I’m a goldaholic and must rub the coins! 😋 Thanks and Merry Christmas to you!
Perth Mint has Dragon coins and coin bars
and those are nice!
Besides carrying a magnet - is there a pocket-sized gold and silver tester that's not pure junk?
None of which I am aware. Ping test, maybe some calipers, but you'd have to know a lot of data in order to know what measurements to look for.
I have the same machine and I love it !!
also how about 10,14,18,22,and 24 ct. rings and jewelry how do you verify that stuff?
I don't do jewelry and not sure whether this has the capability
Wow awesome Gold video friend!!! :D
And
I wish you a Awesome Merry Christmas friend!!
Thanks so much and always good to see you!

It has a calibration tool.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Loooove the gold, brother! Since my favorite lcs lets me use his Sigma verifier as much as I want, do you think I should still get one?🔥🔥
Nope, not if you have easy access! That’s great they have one and share it!
I was just thinking of getting one of these. I only buy from apmex so i'm sure my gold stack legit. But an extra piece of mind goes a long way haha. Is it possible to verify coins with capsules, or do they have to be removed?
The manual says it can read through capsules, and I have done so. I just prefer to read them raw if possible.
@@VerticalStacker oh ok awesome thanks VS, and merry christmas🙏🎄
I suggest buying a verifier first and then begin stacking...don't put the cart before the horse...

I have not heard of that before. Fakes are getting harder and harder to detect however without an XRF machine it seems!
Gold ...gold... G O L D!!! Thx for the video
Gotta love it!
Man putting that $10 liberty head in every video lol
Just lookin’ at you kid!
@@VerticalStacker lol gotta get one this year com8ng up only goal o have myself

Thanks C&C I appreciate your comment.
I need a sigma! Next year one will be mine!
I think every serious stacker should have one!
I want to get one but DANG! They are pricey!
I have the entry level one. Send me yours. And that gold.
Wow, Vert, you got Stormy to watch your video! You should be honored! Good job, Stormy! Great video, Vert!
Oh he just looked at the title, don’t be fooled!
That one works very well, and is the same one my LCS has. We always get similar readings.
Is this Sigma pro verifier can be energized with batteries or USB, or only wall pug in?
No batteries, just a USB type charger on my model. They may have updated it some I purchased mine a couple of years ago
@@VerticalStacker thank you for the feedback
I'm watching this video and as Im watching, UA-cam sends me a recommendation to watch this video. 🙄
Love the Gold. You don't see the 1/10oz kugs much
I think I only have 2 or 3 of them, so compared to my AGEs and Maples I certainly don’t have many!
I just have the basic version but it definitely makes me feel better about my stack lol
And that’s important right? To feel secure knowing that what you have is legit and truly valuable. Best wishes for 2021 Bryan!
👍👍👍
Does this Verifier work with jewelry or just coins?
Marty I think it is designed for coins/bars. XRF machines are much better for jewelry.
The Sigmas are really nice. Better safe than sorry✌️
Absolutely. Pays for itself quickly. I’m glad I have it.
These sigma metalytics really are worth it... but they are sold out i believe... better to be safe than sorry!!
Yes I think they are about 3-4 month behind on production. But yes, if you can get one in the secondary market, might be a good idea!

Can this tool detect gold jewelry?
Good question! I don’t think so but you’d have to consult with the manufacturer to make sure. I use it on bullion and 90% etc
Ok What tool detect gold jewelry, coin gold or all type coin & any bar
