      It was forgettable boring crap. 300 mio dollar movie that feels like a netflix movie with an Indiana Jones who sleepwalks through the movie and doesnt even want to be part of the adventure. You can like what you like, but then again your standards are also just insanely low if crap like this entertains you.

      The man is 70 and it’s also made by Disney so if you expected it to be anything like the old ones that’s just naive. Do I wish it was a better story 100%. Was it fun to see Indiana jones absolutely. My biggest gripe with the movie is after the tomb scene he’s kinda just dragged along which was annoying. I’ve seen some hot garbage movies and it just simply isn’t as bad as a movie as y’all want to believe.

      They don’t even realize that if Lucasfilm had not been bought by Disney and made the exact same film, they wouldn’t be bashing it. I understand the Disney hate after Star Wars, but they are so blinded by hate that they can’t even tell when a movie is good anymore UNLESS the whole internet says so. Sheeps, brainless people. Indy 5 was a good film.

    I live in Scotland and watched the film crew film the ticker tape parade in Glasgow, it looked great and what makes it pop visually is during the time the crew were in Glasgow filming, they had four weeks of blue sky and blazing sun which believe me was incredible luck for them because the climate here could have just as easily given them four weeks of dark skies and constant rain.

    • @redadamearth
      @redadamearth 10 місяців тому +14

      Because for some reason, every filmmaker these days feels like they need to color grade everything. Everyone's afraid to just make a movie look real. If you go back and watch films from the 70's and 80's, they look more "real" than most films shot today because everyone today because they simply used lighting to achieve a look in-camera; everyone is addicted to color grading now, which just takes the reality and natural color out of everything. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" looks fantastic and there was no color-grading on anything - it was just what they shot on the day.

      @@redadamearth I fully agree, the movie had a "digital" look that is present in almost every Disney movie that honestly looks horrible and ages worst than milk, so sad to see this movie in that situation, knowing that James Mangold's last movie, Ford v Ferrari (which not only had the same DoP, but also takes place in the 60s aswell) look infinitely better.

      That's what frustrated me when everyone was talking about this movie being CGI, this and CGI that. Of course they do some CGI, but they also did a heck of a lot in this movie that was practical. Practical. And audiences have been so conditioned with the way movies look these days, that they assume everything is fake. It's the way films are shot and graded these days. They just don't look like they did in the '80s anymore.

      And the script was so bad. Hollywood always trying to interject and peddle their little opinions. All sorts of glitz but the core of it was so, so deficient. Like lipstick and makeup on a rotten Jabba the Hut. Side note, Harrison's acting was excellent as usual.

    • @sainegray1785

      They removed the colour grading from KOTCS in new releases. It looks so much better and allowed me to enjoy the film a lot more. I heard people saying all the time that the “CGI” was bad when the shot wasn’t even CGI, and it looks a lot more real. I hope they do the same with this movie.

    Summer of 2021... I was very thankful to get a chance to film some of the New York horse chase scenes In Glasgow as filming took place. The streets around the city centre were closed off as the movie moved into production. They did fantastic job of recreating 1960's New York! Glasgow was a hive of activity in anticipation of a glimpse of Harrison. Sadly, it was only his stunt double that was the focus of filming as Harrison was elsewhere. Great memories!

      @anarchyproductions6259 The third one was called the Last Crusade, not The Last Indiana Jones Movie. It is called that because in it, Indiana Jones follows the traces of three brothers who found the Holy Grail on a crusade and hid it from the world. The Grail is then found by the Joneses but rendered irrecoverable. The trace can no longer be followed to its end by others because the connective hints are destroyed and the Grail is lost. It is the final crusade.

    • @TheSixthDoctor
      @TheSixthDoctor 7 місяців тому

      @anarchyproductions6259 That doesn't mean the movie was called The Last Crusade to signify it was the last Indiana Jones movie. Your reasoning is flawed. You've got to pay attention how you structure your own arguments because what you're telling me now doesn't relate to anything you wrote before.
      Also, by the same token, I could simply tell you that Paramount still had Ford under contract for two more movies by the time Last Crusade released, since that was the contract they made back when they shot Raiders - five movies in total.

    • @TheSixthDoctor
      @TheSixthDoctor 7 місяців тому

      @anarchyproductions6259 "The Last Crusade" pertains to events within the film regarding three brothers returning from the crusades with the Grail. "The Last of the Mohicans" doesn't have a sequel because it contains the words "The Last" in its title, but because it's about the last living member of a tribe whose story is told in the film. "The Last Jedi" isn't the last Star Wars film (though it might as well have been) because it bears that title. Crusading isn't what Indiana Jones does, so this isn't HIS last crusade. But it is THE last crusade because a holy artifact, the Grail, was recovered from the Holy Land and hidden away in the Middle East, and the traces leading to it are destroyed during the course of the film, and the item itself becomes irrecoverable. That makes Indy's adventure the last crusade, but not his last adventure.
      You cannot just use the title as an indicator of this film being the de-facto last.
      Also... the contract never changed, which is why The Dial of Destiny is still co-produced by Disney AND Paramount - because until the fulfilment of the contract, the rights for another movie, though not for the character, were with Paramount.

      No, it was crap. They turned Indy into a bitter, lone, semi-alcoholic man who lost everything (son, wife, house, apparently even his tenured position at Marshall College in Bedford, Connecticut), and wants nothing at the end of the adventure than stay in the past and die there. One more male hero, who got turned into a loser, how original, Lucasfilm! Helena was annoying as s*it, constantly putting down Indy, her behavior was borderline elder abuse. Her sidekick was an annoying copy-paste Short Round, the writers were lazy to give him even an original backstory, the "climax" was totally anticlimactic, the bad guys just crashed their plane etc... The only decent part was the opening 15-20 minutes sequence in WW2, made me wish they just recast Indy with a younger actor, and make a proper adventure movie in that time period.

    • @mexicanhomervideos6175
      @mexicanhomervideos6175 10 місяців тому +4

      @@sapr76 to be fair Harrison Ford is 80, to make a movie that shows him as a weaker male actually makes more sense compared to Star Wars and other properties that follow that trend, I think it was actually better considering he didn’t die, he lived though the most dangerous things in his life and dying from a gunshot wound in Rome would have been lame, although Helena did put down Indiana Jones a lot I don’t think she stole the show or was annoying, unlike most Disney remakes the strong female lead role didn’t ruin the film, this is still very much an Indiana Jones movie, not a Helena Shaw movie, look I’m not saying it was perfect, but giving that the plot of the movie was all about time and it shows that Indiana is older now and not as relevant, I can say that it fit perfectly and considering it was a bomb actually proved the underlying theme that things will not stay relevant forever

I wish Indy stayed and died in history. You could see how moved Indy was to be part of ancient history and I thought it would be a perfect ending.

    Not a great movie but not as bad as it could've been. Far superior to Crystal Skull. It had flashes of the spirit of the original trilogy but overall lacked the pacing, humour, creative blocking and clever camerawork of the first three Spielberg entries. A lot of people moan about the inclusion of Phoebe Walter Bridge but I thought her character worked fine in the story.
    The movie basically needed a tighter script and a better director.

    Thank you for posting! I enjoyed this at the cinema but my one great frustration with the film that will keep me from revisiting it over & over is its length. I loved the feistiness, emotion, humor, adventure, and the bold, pulpy swing they took at the end, as well as the way the artifact is, as usual, not what anyone expected and serves as a catalyst for human connection. But it would benefit from shaving off 15 - 20 minutes so it can be way leaner (e.g., the bug scenes? Been there, done that. Bloat. Some of the stuff in Morocco needs to be shortened. Some of the bits in the caves could've been simplified, etc). There's a reason why the previous Indy films aren't this long; I don't understand the need for filmmakers to deliver popular entertainment in bloated 2.5 - 3 hour form lately that only hurts the story they're telling (the last James Bond, No Time To Die, is another example, although it had other issues too). Great time at the movies, though, and a big step above KOTCS! Was glad to visit with Indy one last time.

      The hardest job for any filmmaker is editing, and cutting scenes that are too long. A skilled creative third-party editor who can work with the director sometimes works. Studio executives cutting films can damage a story, Ie: A Star is Born, Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven, and I would add to your list Peter Jackson's King Kong. The original is a much better film, minus a few scenes in the modern version that distract from the main story. Sometimes leaving stuff out makes for a better result.

      to me it didn't feel too long. My only issue with the movie was that Indy is in a weakened state due to being shot and spends his final scene in a sling. It's just not a nice way to end things for him. I don't understand why this was done. Plus the whole punching him out to force him to go back to the present didn't quite feel right.

    Incroyable et jubilatoire making of du dernier Indiana Jones !
    Ça peut paraître fou mais ce film m'a bouleversé car il est sorti exactement au moment où j'en avais le plus besoin !
    À mes yeux, il restera mon plus beau cadeau cinématographique de mes 40 ans.

    They don't say it here, but Spielberg was a very hands-on producer and had a lot of input into the making of the film. Which shows onscreen. He came up with the idea for the train sequence, viewed rushes and gave Mangold feedback, and supervised the building of sets.
    I'm just amazed that they made a 5th film at all, as I was disappointed by the 4th and didn't want Harrison's run as Indy to end that way. But as the years passed, I felt that it was never going to happen. And then...it did. And it was a great friggin film!

    • @BigBrianBruce
      @BigBrianBruce 9 місяців тому

      It was fine I liked that it was different
      , much better then the last one but I wished at the end Indy decided if he wanted to stay in the past instead of being forced to escape time cause to me Indy loved history and he should have made that decision not some other character overall I’m happy if this is the last Indy movie and instead we get a new character to not replace Indy but continue his adventures and retire the Indy character

    • @squamish4244
      @squamish4244 9 місяців тому

      @@BigBrianBruce Yes, that was a strange decision. Let him make the decision himself. I also would have liked a fight scene with the massive dude, yeah Indy is old, but he never beat big dudes with his fists anyway, he outsmarted them or Shiva took them down or whatever.
      I don't know if Indy should be permanently retired or not. Of course, rarely has any character been so identified with one actor. Indy's just a really good character, it would kind suck if this was truly it. But I can also see the other side to it, because of the endless Marvel sequels and it just not being the same with another actor or whatever.
      It's hard to make these kinds of action-adventure movies, as history has shown. You've got a lot of moving pieces to get right. Too serious, they're no longer fun. Not serious enough, there's no stakes. And today we have to worry about CGI engulfing the movie or taking away the sense of danger.
      The Indy films, Pirates of the Caribbean (the first one), The Mummy, National Treasure, not a lot else comes to mind that was done really well. The Tomb Raider films are like an entertaining knock-off version, except with prime Angelina Jolie showering, swimming and so forth to make up for their silliness. Jumanji. Also not in the same league, but good. Uncharted from last year was...meh. I could not watch the film without thinking of how an Indy film would have done all the elements better. It also had Antonio Banderas dying, probably just to get out of the film lol.

    "Indiana Jones & Please Dial the Nursing Home!"
    CGI cannot time travel. Being a HUGE Indy fan, I had hoped against hope nothing could be worse than Indy's last movie about aliens in South America. How mistaken was I! I beg the producers please STOP trying to retrieve tha magic that was Indy 30 yrs ago. This movie is a dead pan loser. MILLIONS of dollars flushed down the cinema toilet. Let me state the very obvious: Harrison Ford today cannot, I repeat cannot be the younger Indiana Jones!!! CGI cannot solve this problem. This whole flick looked like a 'desperate money grab.' Spielberg would NEVER have made this!!!

    Personally, I felt they could’ve gotten rid of the lady lead in this film, and left it just for Harrison Ford delete the whole film, how interesting it would be to see him having to go completely solo, and then have a few people that we knew from the past films pop up, and in the end during the hardest part of the film, he proves to us that he can still be Indiana Jones. instead of being completely missed treated, and treated like a fool through the whole film, really disappointing film, sad to see it might be his last one as Indiana Jones.
