If that's how it works Brent, I prefer your way...hopefully they will listen. In another few years they'll probably have a different type of setup. I'd prefer two diesel heaters, one for water and one for heating, if one breaks; the other can be the backup for heating as that's more important. Trying to fix or repair a diesel heater in bad weather would be a pain, but having two eliminates this, two would take up more room though. I don't understand why they would have it to set to turn off the diesel heater, strange. Something to think about for the future 👍 Good update mate, cheers for sharing 👊
I have the same system just plumbing in now....Its my understanding that when you divert the deisel heater to heat water the the bobil electric heater only takes 15 mins to heat the hot water so if the van is heated up all ready I5mins and you are back on heating the van ....if the van is well insulated there should not be a massive temparature drop in 15 mins.....PS I have been dealing with Bobil vans for a couple of years and they have been great with technical via email...
Wondering if you know how to unpair with the controller? I've paired my Maxpeedingrods heater with the controller but it just repeatedly tries to turn the heater off and is unable to power it up
all i did was unplug all the power and turned it back on then didnt pair the bobil vans controller to my diesel heater controller. Hope this works for you.
Hey I have the same system, and having problems getting the controller to link to my DH, good to know it works without linking them, going forward I think we will just use it the same as you. Quick question, does you heater tank “Heating water” light come on? We have the 12v version, and I’ve run a 12c feed to it, but our light doesn’t come on when you turn the switch on the tank? Instruction don’t give any info on how it should work? Great vid, thanks for the content.
No it doesn't come on... I have not tried it in full yet with the 12 v element. I feel the smart controller needs work mine needs resetting occasionally to work by pulling the fuse on my board but when it works. Which is most of the time. Hot water is fast
Thanks for the reply? I assume your tank came with a three core wire also? You suggest just leaving the wires out of the controller and using it purely as an insulated tank?
Glad that it's all working fine and you have worked out your own method of getting the results that you want M8ty..... Love these informative vids ...... M&MX ❤️ / Mark T X ♥️ / Tetanus Ted X ♥️ / Unofficial BHB X ❤️
I've got one as well, installed by Bobil. The problem I've got is that the smart controller stops communicating with my phone and I've tried different phones as well as a Kindle. Any similar experience?
I got frustrated with the phone feature and simply don't use it. The smart controller crashes sometimes too and I have the pull the fuse. I just want a manual switch woukd be so much better.
We use them and love them, they are relatively new and improving all the time
I'm loving it too now
Good to have an Honest opinion
Great vlog 👍
Thanks matey
So the heater we have just fitted we didn’t need to link to diesel heater controller, love them
Yep

Yeah two heaters is a good idea 💡
@@amazinggrace90 You could use the same fuel feed through a splitter for both heaters 👍

Totally agree 👍
Or split the divert flow. Manually May take a little longer but will get 1/2 to each
Do you think it’s possible to either add another 10ltr tank (daisy chain style) or even a larger tank, subjects to space.
Yes I think that would definitely work but obviously adds weight.

My opinion don't link it

@@amazinggrace90 Thanks for that. It seems the remote control needs more development.
@@RogersRamblings yes definitely
Think I might just keep things simple and just get there 12v/240v electric tank.
I really struggle to get any sort of reply or support from Bobilvans.. Really poor aftersales support.
@royalflush3172 I have not had a good experience with the product but they have offered me to take my van into them and they will sort it.
