    Beans were really dry here, (central Iowa) this year too. Mine were in the 8's and 9's at least, not the 6's! That's a good idea putting air on them on a humid day.

    Massey harvesters are robust combines use a 1980+ Massey 750 combine for maize, sunflower and wheat here in Bethlehem, South Africa. Planting season over here just waiting for good rain to come. Good luck with the harvest season, take care.

    Thank you for the Sunday reset. Illegal to water beans. Put a large kiddie pool at the fan intake, stock it with some fish and put a fountain in it to keep the fish tank airated. Just claim it was the only place you thought was best to try aqua-farming. Corn would be close to feed them and you have electricity there to run the fountain that oxygenates the tank. When the beans are moist enough you could keep raising the fish and have some really fresh fish to eat. Of course, Rossquach would probably grab the fish and eat them whole.
    Thank you for the video, it has a special meaning this week as I told you about.

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  21 годину тому

      Well, they weren't the last beans, i e got 1 more day's worth to run. We got just shy of 2 inches last night, so that will get those last beans rehydrated and the wheat growing. The earliest planted wheat around here is very patchy, not enough moisture to get it germinated. My hay seeding I put in back in August germinated well, but it can definitely benefit from this rain as well. Forecast for this week is dry, so beans will be done mid week and then it's on to corn. Been awhile since I've started corn this early

      @@ThatOliverGuyChris Glad you liked the rain. We liberal Democrats control the weather and eat dogs and cats. When we all work together we try to flush all of the snake-handler religions and other radical religions that think a former president is pure and follows some gods teaching debauchery and did not think Sodom and Gamora were bad places out of Florida and other like areas. I did my naked dance around a dead tree while chanting my weather control chants. If you need more than 2" of rain just let me know. I think I might be able to control the rain clouds to get the fields you need. That might make a good video clip.

    How did it do for grain loss? Our 9695 was loosing some out the back, tried slowing the rotor down and slowed the fan to 1120, still was loosing some. Concaves had set at .74 and tried opening the upper sieve. Hope you have a great harvest, looks like the Massey is doing great

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  День тому

      It's doing great. Nothing going out the rotor. The stuff was so dry that I'd get a lot of MOG going over the chaffer in the later part of the day. That was slowing me down some, especially on side hills. I'd typically start with the rotor around 520 and by the end of the day be down to 450 with the concave at .67
      I slowed the fan down to 1150 for a short time, but started getting a little more fm, so I went back to 1220.

    Are we sure that Ross wasn’t driving? Chris, I was at a local show here in north central PA yesterday and saw a yellow American 60. The sheet that the guy had said they only made 8 yellow ones. The interesting thing was that it appeared to have originally been sold by Maibach Tractor. If I could figure out how to put a picture on here I would lol!

      The yellow version was the lowest if I remember correctly. Very low, especially if you separate it out by model. I'm surprised more municipalities didn't buy them just because of the paint color.

    Glad to see you are having good luck with harvest. We are dry here too. Beans are 7-8% here. Lots of shatter at the reel. Had the injection pump start leaking Friday night when grandpa pulled the combine in the shed. It got pulled off to take to a local mechanic to reseal it hopefully today. Your old massey is the same size as our 8900? Correct? Just a rotor machine?

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  23 години тому

      The 8570 is definitely a step above the 8900. We ran 6 rows on our 8900 and typically ran 2-3 mph, and down under 2 on some of the hills. The 8570 I kept under 5 mph so the head would chew up the stalks better, and only the biggest hills slowed it down.
