TCM is more than a channel or network. It is now an essential part of Hollywood history. No one has done more to elevate classic film and educate its viewers on all genres of film and making them accessible. Here's to 30 more great years and beyond!
To quote David Hasselhoff on the Disneyland 30th anniversary TV special, have another 30.. have another 50!
RIP Mr Osborne. Your presence is still truly missed. And Happy Birthday to the greatest cable channel!
Memo to Warner Discovery: DO NOT gut TCM and do not take it off, as has been threatened in the past. Don't turn it into another AMC, which also did a fine job of keeping great old movies alive until it became "The Walking Dead". Let it be what it is. Congrats on surviving 30!
Please Warner Discovery make a separate streaming service called TCM. I’m willing to pay for it. Better yet just make TCM available for streaming separate from MAX.
I have loved and adored TCM for these past 30 years and will continue watching for the rest of my life! I have lovely memories of watching movies on TCM with my parents.
My Birthday is April 14. A lot of history on that date and TCM's first broadcast just happened to be on that date. I wish that Robert Osborne would have lived to see this. Happy 30th Anniversary. ❤
There at beginning with Ted, Robert and you great creators of TCM.
Here's to another 30 years and more, TCM! 🥂
My only "must have" TV channel! Congratulations!
Turner Classic Movies - Quality from Day 1. Happy 30th TCM!
Let’s not forget Mr Robert Osborne, he was a key element of TCM and made the channel what it is now. RIP Mr Osborne and thank you for introducing us to great movies and the stories behind them.
The best channel, TCM. Classy network with classic film. 🎞️
Happy 30th Anniversary to
Turner Classic Movies!
And don't forget MGM has it's 100th Anniversary this month too. 🎉
Mondays this month are to celebrate MGM's 100th anniversary.
I am a professor of cinema and have a masters degree in this field. Without exaggeration, TCM played a major part in me going down this road in life.
Happy 30 years! I’m so glad my grandmother introduced me to this wonderful network.
“Robert Osborne Introductions All Day April 14th”
Yes! For years, I’ve been saying to friends, family, or whoever will listen that TCM should bring back Robert’s wraps. Maybe one night a month as a modern version of the old “Robert’s Picks” block. As long as there’s no legal obstacle to it, I’m not sure what could prevent it.
But anyway, I’ll definitely be recording and tuning in 4/14. I hope there are more of those nights in TCM’s future, too!
My wife and I both love TCM, not just for the films they show, but for their knowledgeable presenters, the extras between films, the "TCM Remembers" tributes, all of it. We'd still be watching it if Comcast hadn't taken it away to a more expensive tier of subscription. Hopefully we can get access to it again one day. Thanks, all of you at TCM for three decades of celebrating cinema...and doing it with style!
Long live Turner Classic Movies!
Exactly.
And MGM's 100th Anniversary is this month as well.
Happy 30th anniversary TCM!
Robert would've been proud to see this milestone happen. And on April 14th, we get to relive those iconic intros for a full day, especially with current hosts Eddie & Dave.
Not gonna lie I got emotional watching this. I adore this channel and classic movies. I've been watching this channel daily for 16 years and the fact that in 13 days it's the 30th birthday of its existence stuns me. Thank you TCM, Robert Osborne, Ben, Alicia, Jacqueline, Dave and especially Eddie.
i grew up watching TCM. i'd check their schedule on the 1st of every month, mark which movies were a must watch. the ones in the middle of the nite i'd tape on my VCR and watch the following day. robert osborne was the best. listening to him discuss the film before and after was almost as enjoyable as the film itself. i watched so many classics. films by robert altman, woody allen, kurosawa, hitchcock, chaplin, billy wilder, orson welles, sidney lumet, john huston. films with marlon, and audrey, and katharine, and cary grant, and jimmy stewart and humphrey bogart, and paul newman... so many wonderful movies. movies with humor, movies with powerful messages, movies that were fun and entertaining, movies that made you think and laugh and cry. movies with real lasting power. these filmmakers and actors remain immortal through celluloid. they will outlive us all, the way shakespeare and mozart have outlived us all.
I am still watching films i recorded on my VCR, and later transferred to DVD. Watching some for the very first time now in 2024. The other night, I put on a TCM recorded DVD of "Brighton Rock" , The British film Noir, I still had never seen. I was astonished to see that I had recorded it in March 2008 - 16 years ago! Finally watched it, and it's a keeper.
@@Themanwhocameback2 i had dozens of VHS tapes from the late 90s/early 00s. ingmar bergman films, grace kelly films, dustin hoffman films, they all perished unfortunately when the house i grew up in was flooded a few years ago. everything was destroyed sadly. i also had about 500 dvds that were lost too. but the memories remain. i do miss those osborne intros. i'm sure some are on youtube somewhere.
Happy 30th anniversary TCM.
My no-negotiating position for any tv streaming service: if your channel offering doesn’t include TCM, it doesn’t get my business. I love TCM.
I literally watch TCM EVERY DAY. It's the only quality channel to see the best of the best in all genres of film. I learn something new all the time...thank you TCM. Here's to the next 30! 🎬🎞️📽️🎭
TCM is my favorite go to place when I want to watch good movies and has been since 1994.
Happy 30th Anniversary TCM!
Congrats, TCM! You gave us what we needed without us even realizing that we needed it. THE essential channel on television.
TCM is a the best cable channel for all classic films! And hello from Philippines!
TCM is the one channel I cannot, will not live without! The cable lineup makes it more difficult and more expensive to access every year, but I will never give it up. I miss Robert Osborne like crazy, but I live for Noir Alley. Eddie and I go back 20+ years to the S.F. Film Noir Festival. ❤️❤️❤️ him and film noir could not be in better hands. Not to mention the constant parade of the finest Hollywood has to offer, in restored condition and gloriously uncut. It doesn’t get any better than this. Please don’t take our favorite channel away. I would cancel cable altogether.
You know what they say: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Here’s to 30 more. And credit where credit is due: THANK YOU, Ted Turner! Thanks to everyone, Dave, Jacqueline, Ben, Alicia, et al., who make watching TCM such a wonderful experience.
Happy 30 years, TCM! Shame we don't have one anymore in the UK but at least you're still there! Robert Osborne would've been proud. Here's to more great classic movies to come!
Happy 30th Anniversary Turner Classic Movies
Happy 30 years TCM love the channel here's to another 30!!!
Happy 30th anniversary TCM 🎂🎂🤩
Let the good times roll ever on.
TCM has taken me through a cinematic journey over the years that has impacted my life in many restorative ways. Thank you TCM.
Happy 30th Birthday, TCM! There will always be a special place in my heart for you!
You know Robert Osbourne is watching down from Heaven and smiling at us, film fans young and old whom he helped introduce to so much of these classic movies. I don't even care what the line up is on the 14th, just seeing Robert back on the air will be a treat.
Happy Birthday TCM!🎂❤️🐱
Happy 30th anniversary, TCM! It’s my favorite channel and I love everything about it. I’ve always been an old movie lover, and TCM is always playing on my screen.
Happy 30th Anniversary TCM. I have watched from the beginning and will watch till I die. TCM is the best!
The astonishing beauty of TCM is that the community created itself out of our deep love of movies, joined by the hosts (including Robert Osborne) and, finally, the current filmmakers like Marty, Steven, and many more. There is a DEEP sense of all being in it together, which orgasms during the Festival. Before TCM we were alone in the dark.
TCM IS EVERYTHING!!!
This is going to be an awesome month. Happy 30th birthday, TCM!!
Congratulations 💖💖 🎉🎉🎉
I've been passionately in love with TCM since late 2001
It's the only cable channel I would pay for. The only one that's worth it. When I was growing up I saw all of the old b/w movies on local and prime-time network tv ("Saturday Night at the Movies" on NBC, e.g.), and The Wizard of Oz every year on network tv. On Sundays, WTTG in D.C. would show back to back movies from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. so I watched 4 classic films straight through every weekend. That was my education. And it formed and informed me far more than school or church or anything else ever did. On saturdays we always went downtown to one of 3 theaters to see the latest films for fifty cents (candy bars were 3 for 13 cents.) The 2nd film I ever saw in a theater was Auntie Mame (the first was Tom Thumb.) I still vividly remember seeing West Side Story and Lawrence of Arabia and The Birds on the big screen for the first time. Later on when I moved to NYC I spent so much time in rep theaters seeing all of the foreign and other classic films I'd only read about previously. TCM is ESSENTIAL.
Looking forward to many, many more years to come! Couldn't live without you, TCM!
🙋♀️ *HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!* This is no exaggeration, my TV literally stays on TCM every moment it is turned on. I would venture to guess I am one of the biggest fans that currently exist on the planet. In addition, probably 90% of what is recorded on my DVR stems from your channel.
Appreciate you and your stellar content, including each and everyone of the presenters/staff. Y’all are absolutely THE BEST! Also, Noir Alley rocks.
Hope you do a Barbara Rush tribute and Lou Gossett Jr.
I believe they will be remembered. Probably takes a little time to compile and properly present a thoughtful and poignant film clip. It's usually worth the wait. TCM excels at it.
@miketutek3366
Hope So Too. Though there's some folks they don't do an (individualized) remembrance of.
No Offense Nor Disrespect to Lou but if they do either; I'd guess they do (only) the Lovely Gorgeous and Beautiful Madam Barbara Rush. Though I'd be totally content with that huntch being incorrect.
If Any are Interested. There are some (three, I believe) Lovely Segments with Madam Rush on Password - likes of which one can find here on this platform.
Happy 30 Years TCM. Its mine favorite movie channel ever your guys got me to movies.
Congrats TCM on your wonderful milestone! I sincerely hope that you continue to educate and entertain cinephiles for the next 30 years and beyond! 🎉🎥
TCM is American Treasure & Tradition:)Robert Osborne-Heaven Bless His Soul:)
Happy 30 years TCM. 🥳
The greatest movie channel/network of all time It is on my favorite channel when I turn on the TV 24/7 😍 Happy 30th Birthday TCM 🥳& Forever more🤩 😃🎬🎥👍
Happy 30th from a Guest Programmer on the 25th, and -please-many, many more. Thank you for being the treasure that you are. A special part of our culture, and lives.
Love, Love, Love TCM!
i was a kid when i found TCM. this channel has been the biggest and safest comfort to me ever since (i'm 32- we basically grew up together) i always knew about classic movies, but hadn't seen any intent on it the way TCM did and still does. thank you TCM! here's to another 30 🥂🌠❤
You are extremely lucky to have grown up with TCM. When I first got it in 2001, i literally could not believe all the great films that they broadcast in one day.
Congrats on 30 years! Hope we see some 30th themed merch!
The graphics were so beautiful and clever.
Happy 30th!
Thank you TCM! I love learning about the historical insights you all share and continuing to discover “new” classic films. Happy 30th!
Happy 30th anniversary TCM is the best channel on television
I LOVE L9VE LOVE TCM!!!! Its pretty much the ONLY channel I watch. If I could only have one channel it would be my TCM channel. Thank u for 30 years!! Toni V
Yep my initials are TV😅
Happy 30! The best channel on TV.
Happy birthday, TCM. May you always keep the magic of the cinema experience alive for all of us.
WOW!! I'm featured (around 1:42) in this amazing promo. As far as I can tell, I'm the only non-staffer, director, or actor featured in a moment where I talk about how the TCMCFF is where everyone who watches TCM belongs -- at the Festival!
Congratulations on your 30 anniversary
Thank you TCM, for giving us memories some of us will never forget. Whether that be making all of us feel like kids again or asking us why are some of the films are special to us.
I saw Buster!! 🥰
My favorite channel since it first showed up on my cable lineup all those years ago. TCM is a tether to the past and a pathway to the future, always a part of my daily journey. ❤
Thank you and congratulations 🎉. If i only had one channel/network to choose, TCM would be it. It's my desert island channel.
You know, we have Spielberg, Scorsese and every likeminded filmmaker ever to thank for TCM’s stay of execution. If they didn’t intervene, Zaslav would’ve pulled the plug and we’d be counting down to its last days. Let’s hope TCM sticks with us for a while longer.
&Besides that we have Spielberg&Scorsese to thank for the restored glory of Marlon Brando's One Eyed Jacks-on Criterion &playing in heavy rotation on any Western Movie Channel!-Just The Facts:)
I love TCM. It gives me a well thought out library of movies that inspire me, comfort me, engage me, and transport me to different worlds and locations. I really do miss Robert Osbourne's "fly on the wall" moments, but do enjoy seeing the new cast of cinematic narrators that give a new breath to the movies. Glad to see they added racial filmmakers and narrators to broaden the culture and showcase movies never reached major box office attention.
Tha best channel in the world in my humble opinion!!! Thx TCM ❤️
Been watching since it was TNT Classic Movies, then sharing a channel with Cartoon Network.
Hoping there’s more international classic films in the future.
Commercial Free network that not only shows Classic movies but foreign and underground movies! Love it!
The best.
God Bless TCM
&Robert Osborne-God Rest His Tender Soul-LearnedSo Much From That Magnificent Gentleman...
Remember Australia? No... TCM pulled out about 15 years ago... and we never did get to meet Robert Osborne... have fun without us! !!!!!!!
Tcm is the new amc
PLEASE, TCM, provide some way to watch through a streaming service. I hung on to cable for years, solely for TCM, until I just couldn't justify the expense any longer. I would unquestionably subscribe to any service that offered TCM, even if I had to cancel others. (I don't know why Max got rid of the TCM hub--it was nowhere near as good as the cable channel, but it was better than nothing.)
The Best Channel Ever
Where's the remembrance for Louis Gossett Jr??? 😢
I am sure they will air one soon.
👍. And (Now) Madam Barbara Rush as well.. 🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸.
Bring back "TCM Underground"
I like all the current hosts, but I do miss Robert Osborne.
Best Movie Channel on the planet along side Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.
Ted would be proud...
Please make TCM available in Australia. We can't watch any of these classic movies anymore.
Waiting for a standalone streaming subscription
Wish it was still a 'basic cable channel'. Xfinity includes it in a Sports & Arts group that cost extra. 😞
It's the channel I watch most ! I hardly EVER watch regular TV. Confratulations, TCM ! 💙💙💙⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬📽📽📽📽📽📽📺📺📺📺📺📺
❤🎉
gerry wilson congrats tcm
Too bad it’s not on my basic cable package anymore. Thanks Spectrum. 😡
if they wanted more than a movie channel...why'd they get rid of the beautiful interstitials between the movies? My favorite was "ROLL FILM"
Worse thing they ever did was take TCM off of British tv
Unfortunately in the UK it turned into a pile of... 😢
Thank you tcm I love watching the original King Kong and the wolfman two of my favorites
