Had to come back to this. I realized it approximates my personal perfection. EXCEPT. I'd have virtually none of the collected stuff. I once had an apartment with two front rooms, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a bath. And for about 6 years, I had no furnishings. I really needed 25 percent of what I rented except it was the cheapest rent in years. Moving to my next place was utter simplicity. Two furniture pieces. Later came to regret one of the two. Still have the rocking chair. Ken's cubic feet is ideal. But I just do not like to let things collect. Different strokes.
@@TheKenContinuumI once have visited the house where Edgar Alan Poe lived in the Bronx, New York. Some day I wish I could visit the micro apartment where Ken Continuum lived.
Cool video. I lived in something similar to this in Seoul when I was teaching there. Now I'm in a 475 sq foot bachelor with a large walk-in closet, large balcony (propane bbq ftw), utilities included, good sized kitchen and I have room for things like a double bed, couch + chair, dining table, large bathroom blah blah. It's amazing what an extra 200 sq feet can do for a space. All for $975/month right next Eglinton station. Not quite downtown but considering the price I'm certainly not tempted to go live in a micro apartment even if it's steps from the office I work in downtown. Still I think it's cool what you're doing and kind of miss my tiny Korean apartment.
Been watching your channel(s) for years, you've really come a long way. Still, I enjoy an older video every now and again just for fun. Only in New York is my favorite on the other one. I live in the non-city part of NY but I'm not from NY so it's funny to me. Micro is prime real estate now given the cost of eveything.😁~Karen
Can't believe how much STUFF you have there. You live in a very expensive city, but it hasn't prevented you from acquiring a lot. I lived in a very cheap city (luckily). With just about nothing in the spaces where I lived. Certainly no dresser. No table. Furnished residences at rock bottom rent. but "furnished" meant a long couch, bathroom, stove, and refrigerator. And it met my minimum wage needs. Bus service out the front door. Unliked the Moss Park guys, I had housing. Nobody lived in tent cities. "The good old days".
The idea to put the mirror in front of the TV to watch it from the kitchen area is pure GENIUS!! Will definitely borrow that! Who got time to playback whenever they went to the kitchen? ;) Thanks for sharing your living space.
I lived 12 years in a 200 sq foot office in Belfast. I had to sneak into the floor's bathroom at night to bathe, etc., . People now work from home, while back then I lived from work. You have certainly mastered you space. I am, however, a slob.
Eh Ken. We all aren't needing of 3,000 square feet of living space, and I can relate. TY for allowing us into your suitable living space, but also that big mind of yours, of life and Yes the Beatles still Rock. Just noticed this was from 8 years ago. Are you still living here?
I used to live on my parents house when I was growing up and the layout of the smal house was I was able to watch tv from my bed to the living room tv and the other end of the house. I have lots of VHS tapes too and still watch them.
This reminds me of some places in India. Never been there, but unlike the MOVIES, some homes have a very tiny fridge. Thing about fridges. Bigger they are, the more electricity they use.
Regent Park .Daniels Spectrum and the opening of Daniels Spectrum with Sun Ra Arkestra . Space is the Place Ken . Your apartment is the ultimate Space Is The Place . In fact Ken ,minimalism should be the norm today . Keep doing what you are doing . You have a great sense of humour as well .
TheKenContinuum That's... Not too bad. I feel like I would prefer the extra space that I pay only 300 more for, plus hydro, though. But hey, if it's good for you, then, well, good for you! Thanks for the response
Cool tour! I moved out too! I posted an empty apartment tour video :) Check it out and let me know what you think? Spoiler alert: My place is not as cool as yours :P

It is so true how I myself left many space taking furniture in the dust over the years. Less baggage and living more 'green' was the way for me also.
One day Ken's micro apartment will be a protected historical landmark in Toronto. Guided tours will be available to the general public...
Admission: 15 cents!
😂

VCR, tape deck, Sloan ... You're keeping the 90s alive and I respect that.
Thanks!

I use it all the time. haha
Scrolled back to where it all began! “Let’s journey over to the kitchen, we’ve arrived at the kitchen”. Too funny!
haha Seems like a lifetime ago.

haha Indeed, & yes I'm still here!
Good for you.@@TheKenContinuum
I like your apartment Ken it is cool how you have the mirror so you can see the TV from the kitchen I was laughing when I saw that its a smart idea
haha Thanks!
I used to live on my parents house when I was growing up and the layout of the smal house was I was able to watch tv from my bed to the living room tv and the other end of the house. I have lots of VHS tapes too and still watch them.
haha Right on!
Hi Ken, you have a great apartment. It's smaller then mine. 😀❤️
If the fridge is too large, consider an under-counter fridge. For additional counter space, place a cutting board over a small fridge.
This reminds me of some places in India. Never been there, but unlike the MOVIES, some homes have a very tiny fridge. Thing about fridges. Bigger they are, the more electricity they use.
"Awesome view of Regent Park" Poor optimistic guy.
Rather than skyscrapers, try nature scenes. They're more relaxing. Do you walk in the parks every day?
Lovely space, thank you for sharing 👌I also have an old HiFi system that I refuse to part with.
Just caught it today.Feb.2023.
ur sofa bed opensz? i had one and when i was skinny i even had sleepover. then again two skinny ppl fit in a twin. now i like having a full to myself
haha Yeah, It folds down into a twin bed.
2023 rent without rent control is probably like 2k/month for this. 😂
haha
VERY INTERESTING APARTMENT!! have never seen anything like it
CertifiedDyme My humble abode serves me well.
Now it's advertise for short term $ 2,345 + one time optional cleaning fee $55 😂
Crazy!
Cute and cozy.
I lived in a really small apartment about like this for five years and I tell you the one thing that was horrible about it was the winter time

Man I almost moved in here, this is the Pembroke building I believe.
StarWars collection ???? ( 3:36 ) You have my respect ! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
haha Thanks.
That was funnn!! 👏 🎶
haha It's a bit different now!
For convenience, store towels and cosmetic bags on open narrow shelves over the back of a toilet.
Just checked out your first home video, hot apartment Ken!! hahaha!!!🙏🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌😉😉😎.
hahah Thanks, so hot!
For spaciousness, replace all media with a handheld computer. Remove the desks and shelving. Enjoy the minimalism.
Go paperless.
😂😂 Hilarious ... btw where's the bike now?
It's still here.
You've done very well with the limited space.
Is the bathroom sink the only sink in the apartment? no kitchen sink?
Valentin Baca There is a kitchen sink, it's just sort of hidden behind the fridge.
That's pretty much a hotel room... without the bed :D (at least you have a kitchen area, though)
For spaciousness, learn to eat with a plate in your lap and remove the tables. Use the extra space for yoga.
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure!
Which is the price for a month or for life in a apartment like yours?
😊by the way great vídeo
To save space, store a small wardrobe in pull-out baskets beneath furniture. Discard the bureau.
If you have more kitchen cupboard space than you need, store your wardrobe in the kitchen cupboards.
If I may pry: How much does this apartment cost? I feel like anything over 600 wouldn't be worth it. It's so cramped.
Virus610 I believe they go for $750 all inclusive now. I pay $725 because I moved in before the rents got increased.
TheKenContinuum That's... Not too bad. I feel like I would prefer the extra space that I pay only 300 more for, plus hydro, though.

@@TheKenContinuum WOW this was 7 years ago. What's it cost these days in inflation land? $1600? lol
Meghan’s shoe closet is bigger than this place!
Very nice studio.
I think, in a few years, this guy will get a few views.
Where's the cat so you can swing it?
Cat wouldn't survive. hah
Likely not we have 2 of the blighters and we 1600 Sq ft.
Have 1600
That was a cool Video👊
Thanks!
I thought I was the only one with a vcr and vhs tapes 😂
Nice space. Modernize with minimalism.
You can take yr computers that u don’t use to computer stores that will recycle them and nice place!

+Khaitoon Katy Kendall Sure, the address is 100 Pembroke Street.
+TheKenContinuum they are turning the building into a furnished short term rental which is out of price.
Yeah, it's cool!
would be great if he had convertible sofa bed
What's your favourite skyline?
NYC!
Just look at the art on the wall!
Ha ha! I only saw one the first time. I clearly was not paying attention because how could I miss them 😂🤔
May I ask cost of rent?
I have a VCR too and I get a lot of crap about it! lol
Four years later and I still have it. I have upgraded to a bigger TV and a new DVD stand since then!
it's perfect but you don't have bedroom?
No, but my couch folds down into a bed.
TheKenContinuum ok, so is a sofabed, great idea thanks

haha You got it!
So much sarcasm typical guy coping with things he doesn’t like
dude that isn't an apartment that's a room no wonder you go out alot
That looks smaller than 275sq ft more like 175, lol
Like a military barrack.
try a loft bed
Was there a closet?
Yes, it's behind the big mirror.
Your entertainment case and mine are very similar! lol Buffy and LotR boxsets ftw!
r655321 In the time since I shot this, I got a new, much better stand for my dvd collection and a much bigger TV!
bruh you so funny your place is 👌
Thanks!
Cool tour!
I moved out too!
I posted an empty apartment tour video :)
